I always put 5A fuse in case that something goes wrong (eg. chip failure and short circuit), I wont burn down my house. I like your video
Great call, this should be a top comment so that people don't diss on DIY after a dead phone or a fire.
Yes, a fuse is a good idea. I use them, even if I have to omit 1 cell to fit it inside. Five 18650's hold a lot of energy, and those cheap charge controller chips have been known to fail short.
@@rpbajb very true. I had one of these cheap controller boards fail short on me once because i reverse polarity connected the input XD and if i did not have fuses on the batteries (5 parallel) there may have been some nice fireworks
How do you add the fuse, I'm new to DIY
Your calculations for the power banks estimate charging efficiency of 80-90% from the bank to the phone, but the phone circuit bucks the supplied voltage from 5.0 v USB down to 4.2 v to charge the Li-ion phone battery, so the efficiency is less than that. Good video.
Right, I think so. 75% max.
thanks for the last info 🖒🖒
Have you tested some good DIY type c charging/discharging circuit, best if it has USB A micro usb and lightning too =)?
give the soldering iron buying link
Thank you
I have the same kind of charger fixed it with 5 136850 cell ,it,s not working at all . what could be the reason
nice idea

Thank you for your support!
Hi , I have some 136850 batteries . I tried to fix it with my new charger which i ordered from ebay . all fixed but it,s not charging ,what could be the reason ,is the charger not suitable for this battery or could be other reason ,can any one help me
With one of those sinle cell units, how much could you charge say a cellphone considering the batter is good and fully charged? I have access to alot of old laptop batteries and I'm wondering how powerful these are because those premade easy drop in casings seem the easiest.
You need at least two cells to fully charge any phone.
Wa sir wa kamal hai apka
5 battery makinig powerbank which types of charging controller kit and how we getting them in INDIA

A question please. I long thought that my laptop battery is dead for good. After all, it has been there for 11 years and for the last 4 year it didn't show any signs of life, just dead weight. Even the indicator on the task bar would always show a red cross. Curious of replacing the Li-ion 18650 and reviving the laptop battery, I have opened it and removed all the batteries. BTW, the soldering was very hard and I kind of ruined the scheme... BUT! What I found really intrigued me. I have taken out all 6 batteries and tested them. All of them show solid 4.15V charge! Could you please kindly explain to me what is going on?!
I think charge controller simply disabled your battery pack because it's probably lost a huge amount of capacity. This is why your cells still have voltage. There's usually a fuse that controls by a charge controller which counts every single charge/discharge cycle and at some point it gives signal to a fuse and it burns. So your cells don't go to 0 volts.
Thank you for your reply. So what am I now to take away from it? Are the batteries any good? Or they are dead? Or the scheme was good and I shouldn't ruin it? Please advise.
Did your laptop recognize the battery when the battery was inside? If not or it says that you have to replace then it's cheaper to buy a new not original battery than trying to fix it. Your cells probably in bad condition but who knows... I usually make power banks from them and customers buy them. All cells don't die equally some of them in great condition some in bad and some are dead.
In the end, my computer wasn't recognizing the battery at all, putting a red cross over it. It didn't say anything about replacing or I just didn't pay attention. No it's too late. It's disassembled and the batteries are taken out. The laptop itself is a very old one from 2007 and I don't really want to make any investment in it at all. So I just thought to take is out and experiment a little, maybe replace the batteries or choose good ones and make a power bank. From all the online videos that I have watched, I took that dead batteries have to show less than 3V. All of mine show solid 4.15V voltage. Does it mean they are all good or what?
The battery was in a protection mode it was disabled by charge controller for safety reasons.
I've had some bad luck with these cheap power banks, especially the single cell version, with cutting out before the cell is discharged and then, especially with the aluminum one, overcharging the cell (well past 4.6v!!!). Dangerous. Have you experienced this at all?
The ones I tested didn't have these problems. I don't recommend using a single cell power banks (at least cheap ones like these) they work kind of weird.
how charge this fully discharg this battery
Great Video! What kind of Solder Flux are you using?
Thank you! Watch my video about soldering and testing flux and solder the will be links in the description.

Metariles kothay pabo dhakar modde.
where is +ve and -ve terminal of these batteries how i attach them each other without knowing the signs of terminal
The small terminal in the middle is positive and the whole cell case is negative.
Parts kaha melega
May i ask?? How many volts in the battery of that laptop you used??
10.8 volts by specs but actually it's about 11.1 Volts. Each cell 3.7 volt, 3 of them connected in series, then another group of 3 cells connected in parallel to the previous group.
ye battery charge kaise ki jaayegi jabki isko simple led recharble lamp me lagaya ho
is six cell kit comes with module or we have to buy it saperate
They all come with modules!
Hi my power bank has 2 2500mah batteries can I switch them to 5 in parallel of course 3500mah batteries will it charge all the way to 3500mah or 2500mah?
Without editing the firmware on the chip it's not gonna work.
Mst
whats the + and -
which mah of one bettary of laptop
In my case each cell was 2200mah
Only for usb
Probably the 5 year battery has been in the mains for years, harming the cells
Can you charge 18650 batteries with this power bank?
Sure!
modificatoin need
Where is the fuse. When something goes short circuit make an fire or explosion and overloaded the super super thin wire.
The power banks with one cell don't have a fuse but the big one has a fuse on the board.
@@ElectronicsComputers When chip have short circuit, baterry exploded with one baterry
i mean i saw the six battery in the acer laptop in set of six battery.i ask 1cell mah.
One cell is usually 2200-2500mAh
