Our intellect, thinking and mind merely gives us the tools to describe other realms.

Thanks for your contribution Don. Nice to have someone so knowledgeable about Aurobindo, yet also inviting us all to share with one another.

@@TheExceptionalState (don again:>) And not only thanks, but, it was fun too! Looking forward to seeing a number of your videos and learning more about Rudolf Steiner. Jan and I are in the midst of a project to take the philosophic and theological critique of materialism and try to find ways to put it in SIMPLE, everyday language. I've found over the years that anthroposophists (Steiner folks) like Owen Barfield and Steven Talbott do this very well, and looking forward learning more about this from you also.

@@jeffbarney3584 Thanks so much Jeff. Really appreciate it.
By the way, do you have any favorite books, websites, videos on this topic? There's a fellow on RUclips going through "Saving the Appearances" in a series of videos. I thought the first was outstanding, the rest not so much so.
I'm enjoying David Bentley Hart's "The Experience of God: Existence, Consciousness, Bliss" immensely. As you might be able to tell from the subtitle, Hart, though an orthodox Christian theologian, calls himself a Vedantic Christian. His critique of physicalist naturalism in that book is superb, but as with all of its writing, you need a dictionary at your side for every paragraph (I'm talking about post graduates in philosophy saying this kind of thing with regard to a dictionary).
I don't think much of Bernardo Kastrup's idealist philosophy, but his critique of physicalism is pretty good. B. Alan Wallace, a Tibetan Buddhist teacher and long time student of philosophy of mind, is excellent but also quite complex.
I think Paul Brunton has written one of the clearest and most powerful critiques, but his writing is SO wordy it escapes most people. I've asked Brunton students over the years if anybody in their community is considering doing a 'for dummies' version (by "dummies" I mean folks like me!:>) and so far, no takers.
The theosophist book, 'Conquest of Illusion," in chapter 2, sums up the whole thing spectacularly - it's just crying out for a video presentation. British psychologist Steve Taylor has a fairly good chapter on materialism in his "Spiritual Science" book, but I don't find the examples compelling.
In any case, I'd love your recommendations.
Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out why the simple observation that there's no direct way to be certain we're awake (theoretically in a purely dead 'physical' world) or dreaming (theoretically in a world of pure experience). Alan Wallace has written a book on this, and I've always found it - experientially - the single most compelling "mind-blower" in terms of getting past materialism. But I've NEVER had success with this in conversations online. I've tried using false awakenings as an example (where you have 4 or more dreams in a row where you think you're awake but are actually still dreaming).
Any and all recommendations and insights are most welcome!

We don’t live between realms. We live in all realms.

Intuitive thinking, Marco ? That’s a contradiction in terms. Intuition comes directly from the Heart. Intuition comes from Love. Thinking comes from the Ego. Ego cannot come from Love or Truth. It comes from the need to survive in 3D.
