What's that coming over the hill? Oh shit it's the yanks coming bomb your city to dust and take your oil industry, they place a religious fundamentalist terror group in your city and are now accusing you of harbouring a terrorist group.
I use to work on oil tanker ships and would have to get to the docks or different parts of then refineries. And they usually have some type of bus or van transportation to get employees around. Usually starting at the security gate (maybe add a toll booth for this) and then the smallest van bus option. Love this episode! Actually I love them all! Who am I kidding.
@@imperatur Hi, love your work, insane job as always. Maybe twocflyer can correct me but I think there is always a big firefighting complex in these area, with water storage and all, maybe the assest diversity could add to the build ?
There's not enough oil industry assets In the game, not a bad idea using Mono rail as pipe racks though. The pit is called a tailings pond its used to retain waste water used in the oil refining process, it also can be used to hold leaking material from tanks and pipes and in some situations is used as an emergency dumping ground for fuel materials in the case a tank catches fire and they need to drain it asap. Something people get wrong about refineries is they don't typically have crude being pulled from the ground at the same site as the refinery it's self alot of LAs oil is piped from the oil fields to the refinery which is closer to the water for easier shipment from refinery to tankers There are examples of where you would have crude being pumped near the refinery and this is something you see often in the middle east oil fields.
Some industrial areas do have their internal buses. For example the factory where my granny worked had one circulating around different internal facilities. Sorry for my English, not my first language:(
Man, that was some pretty genius level stuff... sinking the monorails like that was seriously neat. Love those catchment areas too. Reminds me of the place just down the road but as it was 20 years ago (and was apparently the inspiration for Ridley Scott for his Blade Runner cityscape)
The catch beset is made in case the oil tanks leaks. Often every oil tank have there own cb too catch the cubic the tank takes + 25%. Soo every oil tank is usually not in ground level but this varies from all refineries. Hope that answers your question! Love your videos. 4:21
Looks awesome! In terms of realism, there is not much to mess up, as the game does not provide real refinery mechanics. Usually, you have the drilling rigs on sepereate fields. Trucks, trains and ships deliver the raw oil to the initial storage units. From there, salt is removed, the oil is heated up and then sent through multiple destillation towers. From these towers, differnet types of products (gasoline, kerosine,bitumen,...) are seperated, stored and perhaps further refined. To put in simple: Raw oil input - pretreatment - destillation - purifcation - oil product output. As long as the facilities are provided, your oil raffinery is realistic (not necesarily efficient, but your city planning makes up for it :)
I once visited the Merck Factory in Darmstadt and although it isn't an oil refining factory it's still in the chemical industry and there was indeed a small bus network there (because the factory is ginormous), it almost felt like a small city.
It's called a flowback pit.. Thats where the reuse resources are dumped!.. Great looking Refinery!. I used the monorails in my builds on PS5.. wish I had the confidence to start a RUclips cause I love CS 😅
Yep the bus shuttle service exists within a large companies. Here in CZ I used to work for Škoda Auto and there are/were bus lines within the campus because it's insanely large. So go ahead it's realistic.
This looks amazing! I’ve learned so much watching your videos. Even though traffic is not a problem in this area, I would love to see how you would set up a one way traffic system
As you were building the parking, I was thinking, "if I adapt this into my build, I will definitely add an internal shuttle bus system." Then when you built the train station and mentioned considering the bus loop, I was like, there it is. You should absolutley put it in
Great video once again. Somehow I miss some office buildings to Complex like this, since to operate such area there would have to be at least security office and I'm not confident that management work that separated from the area or within some of the factory buildings so that would be nice addition to this complex. 😊
What is your method for coming up with such creative ways to use props/design your cities is such unique ways?? Every time I watch I am blown away with all the unique ways you build!
The way you use monorails to emulate a pipeline is absolutely brilliant. I'm in shock here, man. You just can't run out of great ideas ;) That's why you're unbeatable in your craft!!
Hi! been watching you for a year, i was wondering when i can make a beautiful city like you! such a great job, anyway i have a question if you don't mind, how i can get the concrete like you? i was looking the concrete at the workshop i didn't find exact like yours. Thank you!
Btw i think i forgot to post it on your previous video, when a waterway biforkifies one of the forked streams gets closed by dirt. So maybe you should consider some ways what your city might be using to manipulate the waterways.
An interesting concept for sure. I probably would prefer the area without the monorail lines, because they look like monorail lines to me - not pipes. Ha! But still a great effort.
Great build again, looks pretty realistic to me. Oil tanks in the port of Rotterdam have all high groundwalls around them in case of leaks. Maybe you can work that in as well?
13:50 - ja das gibts schon. Das VW werk in Wolfsburg eine Buslinie die da durch das ganze Werk fährt, da das Gelände einfach zu groß ist. Heißt "Interner Shuttle Werk Wolfsburg"
I know you are not using the mod in this video but...How do you configurate FIND IT in order to place vanilla buldings instanly without waiting for it to do the build up animation and place it wherever you want without zoning?
I dont know where you got the knowledge of all the tips and tricks but you need to make a new video about it, last video with tips and tricks was long time ago.
Even though you never give your cities a story, as you build them it feels as if it gives itself a story
I‘m not super creative with stories😬
Still true though it feels like one

I love the clever use of monorail tracks for piping effect. Nice!
90% of my inspirations for this game came from you
Yeah. The oil field in North Dakota us has an public transportation to and from. A small bus rute is duable
This is a beautiful oil refinery imperatur, nice job.

Thanks tim!!:)
This oil refinery is very accurate. Few days ago, we flew past it and saw alot of storage tanks about 5 thousand yards away in Newwark.
Cant wait to see what you do with CSII!
I hope they give you a copy early.
I don't know about oil refineries, but I do know that in Itaipú hidroelectric there is an inside bus line

One failure of the game: accurate transportation of crude oil. IRL the vast majority of oil is transported by pipeline from the well to the refinery.
