“1990 and beyond”. That broke my heart, it must've broke Freddie's as-well, because he knew he didn't have long. The doctors didn't think he'd see Christmas 1990. Thankfully he pushed on for another 11 months. We're all to busy on our phones listening to Queen to realise they had personal lives that they barely got to live.
You are so right!! They gave up a lot of their personal lives ....... But they did become the greatest Rock Band in history IMHO. and the world was better for it! R.I.P. Freddie the G.O.A.T.

Well they did produce an amazing album just beyond 1990, it was their last album and it was truly amazing, Innuendo was an absolute masterpiece of an album and Freddies vocals on that album as always were awesome.

Well, they are still touring. With some half-assed idol-winner dancing on Freddie's grave. Good lesson in how to piss away one's legacy.

I´m glad Freddie lived long enouge to experienced this award and the award for an outstanding contribution to British music in 1990. He and the other member really deserved this prizes. Long live Queen and the memory of our beloved Freddie Mercury.
I wasn't even born when freddie died, and almost 30 years later I'm here watching this and crying over his death instead of doing my homework

Freddie was the absolute and greatest frontman. No one could control stadium crowds like him.
Shame there will never be another band like Queen again. Mercury was a showman extraordinaire who could command an audience like no other. Sheer brilliance! 🎼🎶

Teared up when Brian said "We hope to record more miracles up to 1990 and beyond" then Freddie died 2 years after... so sad. RIP to a Legend.

I think, that it must have been painful for Freddie to watch that montage of their videos, especially at the concert parts. At this stage he already knew he might never perform again... My heart hurts

I think he knew in 1987 an then, told to the boys in 1989 when doctors said to Freddie that he cant perform, he would not handle it.
Then everyone knew at this sad day in 1991

the band knew it only a few months before in late 1990. Freddie himself knew it... and so all movies after 1986 (when he knew about illness) I see with other eyes
No, Freddie told the band of his illness in 1988 when they came back to record The Miracle. Only ones who knew were the band, Freddie's parents, sister, Mary Austin, and everyone who stayed at Garden Lodge. Freddie said he didn't want anyone else to know...but the more the disease progressed, speculation of his illness started. British tabloids stalked him day and night til he died. He became a prisoner in his own home.
Always loved Queen. They are my all time favourite band. Freddie Mercury i love and miss. There was no one like him. He had IT and some people call it the X Factor. Best lead singer ever. Freddie was exciting to watch and hear. His voice was just incredible.

I have a friend that is in heaven with Freddie as of 2 years ago this past January 9th, whom loved QUEEN as much as I did!! I feel like she is telling me that she is watch Freddie live as there is a concert going on in heaven right now and he is putting on quite the show, as he always did!!! FREDDIE MERCURY, you will live in our hearts and dreams forever!! QUEEN, the best band ever and there will never be another like you all!!!!
That montage made me emotional, to see Freddie running around and giving his all and then to see how frail he looks after. RIP Freddie.

The Beatles and Led Zeppelin didn't have what Queen had - in the way of Brian May's guitar (which he built himself), John Deacons' quiet reserve and intellect, Roger Taylor's massive drum-kit and powerful beats or Freddie's ability to sing everything from pop music to metal to opera. I'm sure if they had a smidgeon of the talent of Queen, they they would've been almost as good. You have to remember Queen weren't just of one genre - they were of all. If they'd just stuck to Rock, Pop,Punk, Metal or Opera, they'd've been pigeon-holed as "One Hit Wonders", like Britney Bieber or Six Pac Shakur or whoever is the current flavour of the week with the brainless masses who decide what's hot and what's not. You see, there's a time for everything, yet Queen grabbed for the future of music - and the past - and created a style that can only be classified as Queenesque. In 200 years time, people will be bopping along to "Another One Bites The Dust" on their iPods (or whatever the personal music players of that time will be) and they'll still get the same thrill we do today!! "Love, Love Me Do" or "Stairway To Heaven" will still be played, yet there'll be something missing - not talent, per se, but "Soul". Queens music reaches into you and just gives you a tiny tweak, just to say "Hey!! We're still here, viable as always!!"

response to FreddiesWhiteQueen, Freddie used to push the speaker stacks over during the performance of Sheer Heart Attack..they only performed it live for about 4 years (between 1978 and 1982), so it would be on one of those epic tours!! he used to then hit the speaker stack with his microphone and try and rip apart Roger's drum kit!!

The entire Live Aid concert was shown on RUclips December 28, 2022, in honor of one million subscribers to the channel. You can still get it on the Live Aid YT Channel. I understand that all likes, shares, etc. still raise money for those in need! How awesome is that? That is according to Bob Geldorf near the end of this video.

@hiawatha444 I think that is the key. Im a huge huge fan of Queen. Freddie was far & away the best frontman you could find for a band. As a singer & performer 2nd to none.
The rest of the band there were people technically better. But Queen did such a vast array of songs & musical styles that grabbed more people i think.
