half elf is for players that want to play human but also want darkvision
1/2-elves are super strong and versatile in 5e.
Nerdarchist Dave
and that's also why we love them
Or for players that want to play a Drow but don’t want sunlight sensitivity. The half Drow variant from the SCAG is fantastic.
They are great for basic roles in basic societies. They are ambassadors and bards. So worth it!
Or people who wants to get a lot of stats but want other features
Paladin: Inflict wounds is an evil spell!
Cleric: Inflict wounds is a spell, neither evil nor good. Like a sword....
Barbarian: Or like an ax. I use my ax to inflict death!
Rogue Assassin: You need a spell?
I tried a Build similar to this. Went Grave Domain Cleric 2, Sorcerer 3 as a 5th level character. Half Sea Elf Sailor. Had a back story akin to Miroku from Inuyasha, and systematically one shot on level threats.
Quicken and Empower as first 2 metamagics.
Rd 1- Path of Grave channel divinity on biggest threat, quicken Inflict Wounds at 3rd level. 5d10 necrotic- empower to refill up to 3 of those d10s and target has vulnerability.
I did nearly 100 damage multiple times a day after converting other slots into more sorc points. I usually followed this up with a simple intimidation check the following round to send anything that survived fleeing.
I played for 2 sessions and then retired the character bc there was no reasonable way to balance encounters.
I'm still having trouble adjusting to the fact that you gentlemen switched seats lol
Once you've adjusted we'll switch back.
Nerdarchist Dave
@@Nerdarchy hahaha
@@Nerdarchy sounds like a plan LOL
I know huh.
If they said Tiefling instead of half-elf, this would have been a Hellraiser/cenobite build
Not a bad idea we could of made that work as well.
Nerdarchist Dave
*quietly writes down notes to make a cenobite*
I wad thinking pinhead for sure
This sound like Scar from Fullmetal Alchemist. This build would make a great villain
I love subtle so much. You guys kinda mentioned it with brushing up against someone in the street and casting it, but I envision a villain that is chummy with the party hoping they don't find out he's evil, and then giving them a handshake or hug when you've uncovered his secret and inflicting some serious wounds
One of my favorite qoutes in DND from the fighter to the cleric " I don't need to worship a god to enflict wounds"
Absolutely my favorite spell next to Sanctuary. Just the idea of simply tapping a being, and completely corrupting their body is just something special.
Remember, also, that when you get those levels in Wizard, you get a few Cantrips as well. Make one of them Chill Touch, and you're not only bringing the pain from a distance, but denying your foe the ability to heal for that turn. With Quickened Spell, you're doing that alongside whatever else you need, like your Inflict Wounds.
really enjoying the extra work you guys put into editing and acting off one another. Really lovely!
I was talking to my friend just yesterday about making a Jack the Ripper style character. Great timing.
Like we were reading your mind.
Nerdarchist Dave
inflict wounds is such a interesting, scary and powerful spell.
Yeah we were digging on it.
Nerdarchist Dave
@@Nerdarchy yeah definitely wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of this spell.
4:42 “It was at this moment” I “knew,” that’s a messed up character. Sounds chaotic self proclaimed good.
Nothing like a woman that can smile at you, and suck out your soul at the same time. Subtle was a nice touch.
Glad you liked it.
Nerdarchist Dave
Ranged and subtle will allow you to just walk into a market and people start dropping
@@Spiceodog
Yes, but there is something to be said for looking them in the eyes while they die.
@@Spiceodog too bad you can't use those metamagic abilities on the same spell.
Ok, so your path to the grave idea has inspired me to look at ways to set up damaging attacks. Last night, my 7th level group’s cleric and my Paladin did an awesome tandem using PttG. We were 1 and 2 in initiative, so I casted vow of enmity and ran up to the zombie beholder, holding my attack until she casted PttG. She went next and casted it and I attacked in response. With me rolling crappy damage with my rapier and 2nd level divine smite (rolled 1 for rapier, total of 13 for divine smite vs undead), I still had an output of 42 points. Though disappointing how low I rolled, it definitely showed how potent this combo could be. I had rolled a crit pre-game while seeing what numbers would like with a crit, I rolled up 102 points of damage with the one attack. Thanks for the inspiration!
I could see this character using his deception to approach a victim telling him/her that they look sickly. Then they subtle cast inflict wounds and kill them. Bystanders assume you were correct (and rather observant) in that they were unwell, all while covering up your murder.
Deception = social stealth.
Nerdarchist Dave
i don't get how inflict wounds is somehow more 'evil' than stabbing someone with a spear or burning them alive with a fireball. some folks seem to get caught up on anything with the necrotic damage type, i guess.
i know, right? Regardless of the source, you're destroying a person's body in an effort to kill them. None of it is nice.
This not even getting into how much more morally repugnant a character can be using the _Enchantment_ school. Makes Necromancy seem like an edgy poser. At least when you make a corpse dance for your amusement, the corpse is already dead. They can't suffer anymore.
It is a carry-over from 2nd Edition for older players. In 2nd the reverse of spells was considered evil. So Chill Metal was an "evil" version of Heat Metal, Inflict (minor/moderate/severe/critical) Wounds were considered evil, etc, etc..
@@alexbrown1930 I want to know how chill metal is evil but heat metal isn't
@@jaiveonwatts2195 because Chill Metal is a Reverse Spell..duh! (2nd Edition Logic was...weird)
It uses necrotic energy to harm someone’s life force directly idk how that’s not evil regardless of intent
I went a similar route in a home campaign using the Death domain, adding the Lucky feat to help make sure I hit and supplementing with Vampiric Touch to help keep me alive in the front lines. As for background/personality, I made him a high-dex cleric, archaelogist background for an evil/creepy Indiana Jones feel.
I hadn't considered going sorceror to add spell slots and go the twin/subtle angles. That's brilliant.
Glad you liked our angle.
Nerdarchist Dave
I use to play this as a Sorc/Cleric Tortle called Mort. He focused on serious inflict wounds and mass healing. He use to act as the emergency button. I would be casually staying back with toll the dead until a party member dropped, then I would rush in, do the grave cleric one-two punch and save my ally.
Love tortles.
Nerdarchist Dave
What was your lvls in each class and what metamagic did you use
What was ur lol in each class and what metamagics did u use
Some skill in disguises, some illusion spells, and he can get away and just reinvent himself somewhere else. Maybe he's a travelling serial killer and doesn't stay too long in any one spot or rack up too many bodies in one location. Perhaps he develops an interest in the party and secretly trails them from city to city. "Isn't it weird how everywhere we go people seem to end up dead in this particular way?" Maybe other people start noticing that the party seem to bring this odd form of death with them and the word spreads.
I like the follow the party around angle.
Nerdarchist Dave
As an attack based build, it feels like a prime candidate for Elven Accuracy. Also I would trade out the 2 levels of Wizard, for 3 levels Warlock (Fiend) The temp HP from Dark One's Blessing is more HP per kill than the necromancer feature, AND it is temp HP so it will go past your HP maximum. Additionally you can go pact of the chain for invisible familiar shenanigans. Then you can get devil's sight so you can walk around in Darkness and DOINK with advantage + Elven Accuracy, and "Gift of the Ever Living Ones" lets you roll MAX value on all healing dice while your familiar is within 100 ft. 3 levels Warlock also gives you 2 x 2nd lvl pact spell slots which are great for converting to Sorcery Points and they come back on a short rest. You still hit lvl 15 sorcerer, which gives you all the way up to 8th level spells and 9th level slots. Taking Warlock over wizard also has the added benefit of NOT needing 13 Int, so you can optimize your other stats better.
As cool as this swap is, and it's really cool, it certainly wouldn't give more effective hit points on your usual kill-shots. I've actually played this build on a character up to level 8. To this day he is my favorite character, and I plan to take him all the way, but I'm a forever DM. The usual kill-shots consist of Path to the Grave + quickened Inflict Wounds up-cast to 3rd or 4th lvl. (This is a heal of 9-12 hit points on a kill, and you kill whatever you hit with this, trust me) Due to the requirements of this build, and the lack of ASI's, you're gonna have a CHA of 16 for what feels like forEVER.
I took Greater Invis at 7th level in order to mitigate most of the issues with being a melee sorcerer, as well as ensure advantage on ALL of my attacks for an entire combat encounter.
All that said, I still think you're onto something here with the Warlock dip instead of Wizard. I'd probably pick a different patron, like celestial, as the temp hp from fiend wouldn't stack with ARMOR OF AGYTHYS, which is all of the world's love and goodness, in spell form. I'd probably drop a 4th lvl armor of agy before a combat starts, then drop a twinned greater invis on myself and another party member, and then INFLICT ALL THE WOUNDS!!!!
This character concept actually overlaps really well with one I had back from Skyrim, a plague doctor who became fascinated with the study of the dead. That initial character when translated into 5e was either a dragonborn or lizard person, but in the back of my mind the race kinda rubbed me the wrong way somehow. Now watching this I think Half Elf is the PERFECT race for this supposedly trustworthy person with a major chip on their shoulder. Looking forward to blending the two together into something special, thanks guys!
I'm slightly biased on this, but I feel like taking subtle meta magic at level 3 instead of quicken will allow you to play into a sneaky Jack the Ripper type of character a little more. That and you also get amore sorcery points to play with until you start to bum-rush sorcerer again.
Definitely a viable way of doing it.
Nerdarchist Dave
This is a fun build you came up with, I really like it. I think I like your build better than my idea.
When you first outlined the idea, my first thought was to make a cleric of good intent, but truly accursed healing ability (perhaps literally cursed), who has something like the opposite of luck, when it comes to practicing medicine. When he tries to cast heal wounds, he gets inflict wounds, etc. When combat happens, and he has to roll initiative, the party just points at the enemies and says "Go heal them! Heal them real good". And the unfortunate cleric goes forth and does his cleric thing as the enemies all start to drop like flies. Kind of a tragic comedy character.
I don't know I kind of find your take funny.
Nerdarchist Dave
Since you're using Xanathar's Guide as your book, you could instead of using Wizard, go with Hexblade Warlock. You now crit on a 19 and 20, and since you're already an elf, take Elven Accuracy. Now you just need to cast greater invisibility on yourself, and you'll get double advantage on your strike, crit on a 19 and 20, and if you crit when you make the creature vulnerable to the attack's damage, you're getting off 12d10 necrotic damage with a first level spell (24 with a 4th level slot, 36 with a 7th level slot, and 44 with a 9th level slot since you'll have the slot as a pure caster, even if you took 3 levels of warlock). If you want to forgo one level of sorcerer, you could also get a third level of warlock to nab yourself pact of the chain so you can get a more demonic familiar than you would have as a wizard. EDIT: Empowered spell is good as well, it'll let you reroll a few of your many various 1's you'll get if you crit with a 9th level spell.
Really my recommendation is 13 sorcerer since you'll only be missing out on flight, 6 cleric to get 2 uses of your channel divinity, and 1 warlock hexblade level. Put less points into INT so you can use your point buy points in Wisdom for Cleric, saving that stat-bump to buy your Elven Accuracy instead. If you absolutely have to have find familiar, take magic initiate as a feat and grab it from that. It's munchkin-y, sure. But with this kind of build that's what you're goin for.
A couple issues:
1. You'd have to prepare your target by casting Hexblade's Curse first. "Any attack you make against the *cursed target* is a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20 on the d20." So yes, you could get a significantly higher probability of getting critical hits with your Inflict Wounds spells, but only against your cursed target.
2. If you pick up more than 3 levels from Warlock, you'll lose that 9th level spell slot. Warlocks do not get 9th level spell slots, except through their Mystic Arcanum. Their spell slots are considered Pact Magic and don't apply towards the multiclass spell slot calculations. If you went with 3 levels of Warlock, you could pick up Pact of the Chain for an Imp, which can see even in magical darkness (which you can see through as well with the Devil's Sight invocation) and make itself invisible as well.
Round 1 - Bonus Action: Hexblade's Curse, Standard Action: Greater Invisibility or Darkness (with the Devil's Sight invocation)
Round 2 - Standard Action: Inflict Wounds (27.1% chance to crit.)
My great old one chain warlock has 3 levels in divine soul sorcerer. What's better than delivering inflict wounds via a familiar while you're hiding 100 feet away? Doing it via a familiar that has at-will invisibility :)
If focusing on a single spell, I think that looking at a 6th/14th Celestial Warlock/Dragonic Sorcerer would better with flame spells. At this level Firebolt does 4d10+10 fire damage, a first level Chromatic Orb does 3d8+10 fire damage and we also can cast a 1st level Guiding Bolt that does 4d6+5 radiant damage. You take Elemental Adept (fire) to help with those that are reisitant to fire. Against those that are immune to fire, you still have the radiant damage from the Guiding Bolt. If you take Agonizing Blast for one of your Eldritch Invocations, you can add an Eldritch Blast that does 1d10+5 (x4) Force Damage as well. This build can also serve as a secondary healer for the group if you take Cure Wounds for one of your Sorcerer spells.
I especially like the campaign ideas you've given with this one
Can we do a Vampiric Touch build video? I understand it's not early-game, but it's still friggin awesome
"is it your 1st time visiting Ted's basement?" didn't sound as expected! lol
Your secret murderer mortician idea reminds me of the Vampire mortician in Witcher 3. It's the perfect cover!
Dave sounds like he has personal experience with the fact that corpses aren't light.
Not saying a word.
Nerdarchist Dave
@@Nerdarchy Hey Dave, for $200 and copies of XGtE, GmGtR and VGtM, I won't say a word OR produce a damning photograph! 😈
I just went Cleric/Wizard, using the Owl’s help action as the trigger for the readied inflict wounds. Also can pump up the spell’s damage with death domain cleric, but I went enchantment for more of a ghostly feel, hypnotism and possession type feel. Want to write magical contracts later using a sort of expensive scroll making.
My initial thought was death domain, but it wasn't AL legal. Grave came through with double damage via granting vulnerability. Add hold person to the mix and you've got a truly wicked combo.
Nerdarchist Dave
I remember designing an 'inflict wounds' build for Pathfinder (3.5).
I never got to play it. But building a 'touch attack' focused character was pretty fun.
I would like to see a "Monster Hunter" build or "Indiana Jones" build
Play a monster slayer ranger and do not neglect strength. Voi lá
i know this is an old video but they did do an Indiana Jones build it just wasn't AL legal and if you're looking for some mainstream media inspired builds check out tulok the barbarians channel he makes his inspired builds a bit more realistic as player characters then nerdarchy does they tend to say everyone has like 30 in all stats some times i think they forget that 10 is normal and 12 is athletic 14 is already superhuman 16 is already bordering on divine 18 is demigod and 20 is perfection. not slamming nerdarchy at all love these guys and their work and this is just my take on how the numbers work. I miss the after dark series collaboration with Nate and Kienata.
Something I'd never considered before, I don't tend to play evil characters (obviously too close to home for me), but definitely could be an interesting one to play.
Evil affinity for sorcerer doesn't require you to be evil. Could be interesting to try to play against a dark heritage.
Nerdarchist Dave
The lighting is really intense on the right side. Maybe bounce the light off the wall or ceiling.
Just realised this video is a year old....lol
Bodies can move themselves to where you need them, if you use Animate Dead. Mold Earth cantrip for quick burial/exhuming of corpses.
Dude, sun soul monk and divine soul sorcerer, your inflict wounds build being the arcane abilities branch of the martial art
Since it is a 1st level spell, anyone can get it through Magic Initiate. This gives one casting at the lowest level for free but it can then be cast using spell slots with no limitation on the level. Thus any spellcasting class, including Wizard, can get it. Although it would not be available until 4th level if Human Variant is not Adventure League legal (not sure if it is).
I don't know if you guys mentioned or not, I may have missed it, but with aasimar, once per long rest, you can turn on your angelic aspect and deal extra radiant/necrotic damage equal to your character level one per round for a full minute. So an extra 1-20 damage (depending on level) per casting of the spell each round.
in my homebrew, Inflict & Cure Wounds are the same, & either give or take 1d12.
that allows Necromancers to HEAL.
Just got my new bad guy, thanks
It does NOT exclude WIZARDS! Check the bonus spells added to your character's spell list when you choose Witherbloom (Strixhaven) Student background. Add Bladesinger archetype to it for a bit more safety in close range, and there you go.
Check the videos date.
Nerdarchist Dave
Totally gonna use this type of character when I need to.
hay Nerdarchy, could you make a character that is focused on the intimidation skill and fear?
Not out of the realm of possibility. Have you seen our Mind Breaker Paladin build?
www.dmsguild.com/m/product/251093
Nerdarchist Dave
I have now, and I like the name. A paladin of some kind sounds intimidating so good for my idea.
V.Human warlock with Prodigy for expertise in Intimitation. Take cloak of shadows and tome for Guidance for an extra d4 on your intimitation checks.
I used this to make a "viking shieldmaiden" hexblade that made a pact with Odin and focused on rituals and intimitation. She had a raven familiar, to fit that Odin motif.
I be a fallen Aasimar for the necrotic shroud and take a level of rouge instead of V. Human
@@Somber_Knight that also works! :)
Ted rocking the RPGCrate / Revilo Fang and Tooth Tavern shirt!
The problem I see is that by level 10...your cantrips can do the same damage as inflict wounds (if not more, depending on what you choose).
Great concept for lower power games and for the mindset that you want to roleplay and not rollplay. I like it.
Great build. It's so hard not to dip into hexblade for almost all CHA based builds for free medium armor and shield proficienies, short rest reaction Shield spells, hexblade's curse, eldritch blast, and a free CHA based 1-handed weapon. Glad you tried to go something a bit more flavorful here.
Death Cleric/ Rouge Assassin is SO FUN if you go 12 C and 8 R you can do 81 + Weapon damage with one attack then you usually just have to cast Inflict Wounds or some other Necromancy spell for the Death Cleric bonus
The shadow Touched feat allows you to learn it and cast it for free once per day(also invisibility and +1cha).
My arcane trickster will learn it upon leveling up and can use the familiar to deliver it
Normally I watch these sorts of character builds and just take ideas from them for my own characters, but this build is so amazingly cool I almost want to play it as is. I think I'd take the character in a more neutral or even good direction. Have them be a descendant or child of Kelemvor or some similarly neutral and not distinctly evil death god.
Just out of curiosity, any idea why the warlock didn't get this spell? It seems to fit that class better. Or is there a warlock option that has a similar effect?
Oh the mayham you could cause by delivering your "inflict wounds" spells through a Familiar
Distant would be fun, but the owl is a great hack.
Nerdarchist Dave
Spider familiar or snake
Or if your DM allows, a flying snake.
Imp.
Thought of something interesting. Perhaps this evil box is doing both. They are inflicting pain, ripping bodies apart and using those body part to create undead monstrosities. They sow together the part of multiple victims then resurrect these things and let them loose to wreak havoc. They are creating armies of these creatures. Just a thought
I assumed it was gonna be death domain cleric since it kinda seems to be the best way to go about it. To me it doesn't seem like the best idea to run into melee with lowest hit dice in the game but I can see your point. Personally closest character I've played that kinda focused on inflict wounds was 6th level vengeance paladin/14th level death cleric. I typically used lower level slots for smites and higher level slots for inflict wounds, especially when I was doing an AOO with warcaster.
The necromancer/inflicter's ultimate plan could be to create zombies that can carry his deadly inflict wound spells for him, wandering into the college that banished him, and exploding any living thing they touch. It might just be a single touch spell (depending on the strange method he used to implant his spell as a spell-like ability into his children) but if you have enough bodies, that's still a whole lot of death
Take BS Artifcer, pick up Shadow touched (inflict wounds), prepare haste at 9th level, now at 11th level your build is online. Put IW in the spell item. Now in combat cast haste on yourself and use the item interaction to activate your spell item to cast inflict wounds 10 times while making weapon attacks.
I would've taken a level in hexblade warlock, because that's a higher chance of critting with the spell, and regaining even more hp
Is it just me or are they making Semirhage from Wheel of Time?
would love to see the builds you guys would come up with if you were to build around the shadow blade spell
One fun and easy way to get this is 3 Levels of Paladin and picking Oathbreaker. It'll allow you to cast Inflict Wounds and Hellish Rebuke at will without needing to prepare them and you can stack it with Divine Smite.
I know this is a little old, but did I miss something in that any class could take magic initiate and get inflict Wounds? Its new now but the new wizard subclass that can change the damage type of a spell to another type they know seems crazy strong with this. You could do Inflict wounds as Force, Fire, Lightning etc.
For AL play, how do y'all interpret the rules that allow a familiar to deliver a touch attack spell? I've seen it where you have to use your action to ready the spell and use your reaction on your familiar's turn when it uses its action to deliver the spell. This assumes your familiar goes after you in the initiative order.
It's cumbersome to say the least and very action economy heavy, but I've been told it's RAW.
Great video. I love the animations that show the stats and spells.
The editor did a great job on this one. Not sure we don't actually play AL. We do the builds for AL hoping they be more helpful to people.
Nerdarchist Dave
"Finally, when you cast a spell with a range of touch, your familiar can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell. Your familiar must be within 100 feet of you, and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it."
you cast the spell normally and the familiar uses IT'S reaction to deliver it.
if it isn't in range of any enemy, then this isn't an option...
I'm planning on playing a storm sorcerer elemental monk build focusing on wind magic and I would love to see how you guys play around with the level divide skills and whatnot
Dr. Stein from Soul Eater fits this so well
These guys are great!
Why thank you.
Nerdarchist Dave
I've built a life domain cleric with inflict wounds. The concept is that he uses this to inflict the suffering on an enemy that they have inflicted on others. Think green mile where big jon does it to that billy guy
This guy would make a good villain in a Harry Potter style campaign that takes place at a magical school.
When I imagine what inflict wounds might look like, sectumsempra immediately comes to mind. So it'd certainly fit in that world.
Could you make a build for a huge HP character build?
Hello Nerdarchy, great show. I really enjoy the league builds. This one here is my favorite, (so far). Thanks guys for all your hard work & have a great day.
{ off-topic question, do you think static damage for a PC is acceptable or should PC's just roll, either league rule or from a DM's perspective }.
A good character could be someone based on Rogue, who cannot control the inflict wounds from their hands when they touch creatures.
The character has to wear gloves when interacting with others in social situations, but when combat happens the gloves literally come off.
You could even add vampiric touch to the concept that when they keep a hold of someone they end up absorbing some of the life force of the person.
Have you guys done a Jester build? Gish or non-Gish? I made one using only Great Old One Warlock and Pact of the Tome for Bard Cantrips and spells/Invocations focusing on battle tactics(I.e. bamfing about the Battlefield and driving the enemy insane)
No but that is a bard subclass I'd to see made official.
Nerdarchist Dave
You know, an evoker with the Shadow Touched feat and a few levels or Sorc could be pretty good way to go as well
Getting a slight Riejek Hidesman vibe from this.
Hey guys, at the beginning, you forgot the extra 2x 1 pt for stats (+2 Ch and +1 to two other stats) so at level 1 you would have 10 str, 14 dex, 2 con, 13 int, 13 wis, 16 cha.
Honestly I would rule that using subtle spell you would gain advantage on the attack roll since it's literally unable to be detected as casting a spell.
sooty owl for the familiar
I think I'd purely create a lawful evil cleric that acts like an inquisitor, chasing evil and law-breakers to impose the rules and values he strongly defends with absolute faith. That cleric wouldn't just get rid of those who he considers evil, he would also inflict them pain deliberately as a way to punish them for their sins in this plane of existance (specially with really evil people, like those who command others to do bad things). It could be hard to fit into an adventure since pretty much always you're gonna have someone in your game being an edgy vigilante that takes justice on his own terms or like a bunch of thieves that are constantly commiting crimes... But if the rest of the players can get along with this cleric it might be an interesting character
No sadist cleric of a God of pain
You could also use an oathbreaker paladin since they pick up inflict wounds at level 3. Said they didn’t get a mention
I don't think that's Adventurer League admissible. And that's what this video is based on
Ah, I’m unfamiliar with adventurers league. Thanks for the clarity
After watching this video, I totally want to make a Lawful Neutral Royal Interrogator character. Think Thrawn, but as an interrogator. Then Spare the Dying means that not even death is a reprieve from this agony.
As a villain you could have him storing the necromanic power. Imagine something like a giant evil undead giant animated by that power. NPC's can do whatever you need them to
I built this character over a year ago almost the same. It is so fun but unfortunately his penchant for pain caught up with him and is now serving time in daggerford
I just saw this video, a as a surgeon and role player as long as you guys, I can tell you with certainty, medicine is significantly closer to necromancy than healing.
>2am upload
Thats fine I didn't need to sleep yet
same but different time zone
Sleep is for the weak any way.
Nerdarchist Dave
Should have built a warforged
I built a Grave Cleric with a dip into fighter for Action Surge, it became a boss killing machine. Action, Channel divinity: Path to the Grave, now opponent has vulnerability to all damage, Action Surge, High level inflict wounds for massive damage doubled.
And the fighter battlemaster let me pass my attacks to the rogue to save my spell slots for the big opponents. Lots of hp and second wind helps with range of touch.
Owls are great symbols for a necromancer, since they symbolise silent death. Ravens and Crows are more symbols of trickery or devilry.
Ravens are scavengers (Carnivores that prefer to consume a predator's leftovers)
@@MegaPokefan97 yes, which is bad for a necromancer, unless you're only focused on summoning skeletons :P
I think that wizard should come first before cleric and possibly before sorcerer. Getting that familiar right off the bat or as quickly as possible is best.
I'd rather get proficiency in Con saves and wait a level for the familiar...js....
