Gear change is a bit clunky ? I find the flatter bars make a much more comfortable and controllable ride on mine , but thats personal choice , carry on the good work
I thought you must be referring to the Cameraman's riding ability but you're right, it does sound a little clunky on the video. We're doing out next test ride shorty, having cleaned the carbs for the second time. We'll check it out, then.
Bought one new in the mid 90's, great memories but it vibrated like hell on the motorway! Probably a carb balancing problem. Funnily, I've now got a 350 Meteor! Not for the motorway, but a great back road bike.
Thanks, heywhatsgoinon, for the comment. It was comfortable and rode very well for the first half of the ride out. We know what the problem is...carbs off...I think I prefer the style of the 535 over the 1100 but I bet the 1100 pulls like a train.
Hi blackbarick. Thanks for the feedback. We're almost there with carb clean #2...we found a couple of issues so, hopefully, this will solve the problem. Watch this space.
I'd love to see how people fill these tanks up at the petrol station. Tried for the first time yesterday and couldn't decide on the best angle. It kept spraying out the hole!
Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. We do have names. Dave does most of the Mechanics and Al operates the camera, film editing, and commenter. Thanks for your continued support for the channel.
I wanted one of these when I was young. This was when I went through my easy rider phase. lol
I think I've just arrived at my easy rider phase...
Mirrors look exactly the same as on my Virago. Yamaha logo on the chrome side. 👍
Ah...I never looked for logos. I'm glad they're original. I think I prefer square mirrors. More visibility, for me. Thanks for the feedback.
@@MotorcycleFettlers thank you too for awesome uploads. Really helpful 👍👍
Was about to say, mine have the same mirrors too (a 1997 one).

Good choice with the Meteor!
Looks a nice comfy bike. Never had one (yet). Think i'd go for the 1100 myself tho.

Hi, nice series! Ive recommissioned mine and got backfires too. Can't wait to see your next job with the carbs.
Cheers

You're right. It is a tricky fill...
I have never seen one the same color as mine. Plenty of people have argued weather its yellow or orange. What do you say?
I say orange. Yamaha say that it's Orange Cocktail. Are you with us?
@MotorcycleFettlers I never knew the name, but I always called it Tequila Sunrise haha orange for sure
The 'Camera man' should be given a name maybe Kenny?

Hey Chris. I get it now. Kenny from South Park. Yep, we do need to do something about the audio on our ride outs. That was very funny.
