The most detailed video I have seen on this shoe. You did a good job. You said the middle of the shoe was too tight. Was this for the wide or medium version. You also kept calling this a boot and making comparison to boots but this a high top trail runner and not a boot. Trust me I used heavy boots back in the 70's and this nothing like that and we have learned a lot since then. Feet don't need to be surrounded by stiff boots. We have evolved about 6 million years mostly barefoot and our feet don't need a lot of support unless you have unique issues. I used the waterproof mids on my 2017 thru hike of the AT. I switched to low top non WP when it warmed up. My only issue with them was they never lasted 500 miles. Most were done at 400 or way sooner and low tops were the only ones I wore that long. They have of course upgraded them several times over the years. The older current pair I own of the WP mids don't have speed lacing and is a pain to get off and on unless you unlace the top two metal loops, which made me buy these new versions. I will wear then in the winter in northwest Arkansas for dog park, occasional backpacking etc. We will see how this latest version works out but my knees won't let me do another long trail.
They breath alot, more than 90% of basketball shoes, however they not so well weatherproof after you have used them long time, and you cant stay in the river with them , but short trips in the snow for few hours are still ok. But it is super rare to find shoe that are somewhat waterproof and still breath well.
