I love this sort of talk. Mark is one of my favourite tech speakers

28:04 they tried VR for at least 30 years and it is used in some professional niche applications (for example for architects), but it never took off for private users and I think it never will, as it gives people headaches.

11:41 "640K ought to be enough for everyone" :D

20:53 I find this feature useless. My washing machine doesn't have Wifi, but it shows me how much time is left on a display and if I am not near it, I can just use the stopwatch function of my watch or phone.

    4ghz is 500 times 8mhz, not 500,000

quantum computers work differently though, a 72 qubit computer just has 72 physical qubits (+ a few thousand for error correction), a 64 bit computer has multiple 64 bit registers and many gigabits of RAM. Because of this a 72 qubit quantum computer isn't really useful as a general purpose computer, the only useful thing you can do with it is to simulate quantum systems. For a useful general purpose quantum computer you would need at least 1000 qubits from what I know (but more than 1 million if you include the qubits needed for error correction).

Great talk, thanks! FYI: I'll come around with a blockchain toothpaste and steal your customers.

22:27 Internet of Things (IoT) is a common term. How does he not know that?

18:43 symmetric algorithms like AES are quantum safe though. This is why RSA is phased out in some areas. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-quantum_cryptography#Symmetric_key_quantum_resistance
