Have you thought (or maybe you already do this) but treating the screws so they look more "blacksmithed" vs. shiny? I really like this style (I've watched the video multiple times) maybe not worth the effort, but I'd think it would nice.

Yes! I’ve got some painted screws now.

Soak them in vinegar Oscar, then just oil them, they will be black!
