I can't fathom why mandatory evacuation orders weren't in place days prior to this storm's arrival. NOAA warned that catastrophic flooding was coming, yet the govenor simply told people to prepare, as if people in their busy lives can comprehend what is coming. Nothing shocks residents into paying attention and warning them of the seriousness of the danger as mandatory evacuations. At the time of this report, it's already too late for mandatory evacuation orders. Most people are stuck where they are, because flooding has already cut off their escape.

Tell me you didn't listen to the video without telling me. They ARE sending National Guard, as was stated in the video. They will do everything they can to get to people, but with roads flooded and bridges down, it will be a challenging task. Just look at what happened after hurricanes Harvey and Katrina. This is why officials try to warn people. If you have medical issues, you need to make a plan to get safely out of harm's way for exactly this reason.
