I'm from Italy. I discovered Teresa Teng by fortune. After falling in love with her voice I started investigating her life her times her places. I admit that from my side the China/Hong Kong/Taiwan affair is not very known. Our common world is very divided and it's very hard to know everything so many important and even dramatic things can be totally unknown when you turn the corner. Now everything is different for me. I now feel something like a false memory of that past time when Teresa was still singing around and earlier when she was a little child and her parents escaped from mainland China tried to start a new life. I feel even desperate when I imagine how difficult was life for common people that times there. When I listen to Teresa singing I try to imagine how incredible could sound her angel voice through those lands where poverty was so deep, where liberty was a very mysterious word. I would like to enter every house where a cassette tape of Teresa Teng was secretly listened and share, absorb the feelings of those people who discovered her voice for the first time among so hard life conditions... I hope to find here people who will tell me their personal memories of Teresa Teng, trying to rebuild a full memory of that time and space and daily life... It's so sweet the way she was! Always totally spontaneous, her emotions were genuine and uncontrollable. She couldn't avoid to smile while she crossed his look! And the way she looked at him while he was singing... Like "I want to learn how to well pronounce Japanese by following your lips moves"! Impossible not to adore her.
I discovered Teresa in 2015 and I listen to her songs every day. The duet with Shinichi is a real gem. Her Voice, Those eyes, That Smile....to me, the most precious video ever. TT4ever
