One of the many tragic stories of the 1986 NBA draft, William Bedford's habits caught up to him and cost him his potential. Good to see he's doing much better now, owning his own business and living a more productive life. But man... the 80s was something else!
As Stunted Growth knows, I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American and male. I remember that William Bedford had talent, but many off-court problems. In the summer of 1992, Shawn Kemp put on a "Shawn Kemp Classic" at The Coliseum (our home court, at the time). They put the box score in the newspaper the next day. William Bedford hit more than a couple of three-pointers! I also saw that Blazers then-rookie Tracy Murray made a bunch of three-pointers in the game, which got me very excited.
Always great vids/mini-docs. I just took a look at that 1986 draft and it's amazing how many really good players were in the second round that year. Would be interesting to see a re-draft vid of that class.
Do one for Patrick McCaw, Jerry West’s golden boy that said teams would be “sorry they didn’t take him” played 2 seasons with lack of PT with GS and ghosted the team to get more PT only to go to Toronto with not much more PT and been out of the league since 2021, not to mention deported recently in Belgium.
My brother was close with Andre Turn**, and was told they were high as a kite 🪁. And that was the reason they lost. Idk, on paper they should have won and that’s what everyone expected. But Villanova took out the favorites, Georgetown. 🤷🏾♂️
And I’m gonna support your business on Riverport off Malory if you ever come through again… mane( big brother)… your wings are off da chain. Nothing but love and respect for my Memphis warriors 🤙🏾
Bedford intended to stay at Memphis St all 4 yeard, but him and head coach at the Dana Kirk got caught point shaving, dude was doom from the start smh tragic
It did,bad decisions lead to bad results, illegal decisions lead to jail. But,I'm sure Bedford learned this hard lesson,he's out of prison having his own business and enjoying his freedom.
Do a Jordan Poole stunted growth because of Draymond Green knocking the “respect of opposing players” out of his career. Turned that man into Rodney Dangerfield 😂
Too bad bias died from that junk before he could tear Jordan a new one!! I think he definitely would have won a few chips and probably better than Jordan,my opinion though.

Roy Tarpley.....Chris Washburn too
Can you do Joey Dorsey stunned growth?
I once work with William Bedford with the city of memphis. Dude was a gentle giant and was funny.

I remember he worked at UPS in Memphis for a period of time. Always heard good things about him.
Your channel is clearly one of the best RUclips channels .
Love your videos man. You should do one on Jay Edwards.

He the only individual to 3 peat
@@Kil000999 Jordan’s three peat.
@@DMalltheway it was a team. Pat did it alone. 2 with GSW then that one with CLE
@@Kil000999 CLE?
@@DMalltheway yes. He played in CLE when Lebron won his title there
That 1985 Memphis State squad was crazy though! They made it all the way to the final 4 and got beat by the champions..Villanova.

@@ghost5207 That's a good story..I believe it!! 💯
I just bought a food truck. And I’m a convicted felon for a non-violent crime. I’m not gonna let anything stop me.
Keep that spirit bruh. Respect 💪🏾

Non-violent criminal offenders shouldn‘t do time in the first place.
@@Schwitzig996 appreciate the support
wow didn't know Bedford played for Memphis State. Memphis had some great players and programs in the 70s 80s and early 90s
cocaine is a helluva drug
Great vid my guy! Waiting on you to do one on several players.
Stacey Augmon
Terry Dehere
Damon Flint
Ricky Price
Terry Dehere was neither here nor there.
Was big east player of year and was at the time conference all time scoring leader. Not a bad career
@@Major613 Give me props for the wordplay though
I thought Augmon was going to be the next Dominique.
Appreciate all the great content! I think Josh Jackson would be a good video
Jerome Harmon. Ever heard of him? A McDonald's All-American back when being such really meant something.
Bedford intended to stay at Memphis St all 4 yeard, but him and head coach at the Dana Kirk got caught point shaving, dude was doom from the start smh tragic
How about this one? Marcus Liberty. The next would be Golden Boy from Chicago since Ben Wilson.
Good point..Chicago
His height must’ve made it incredibly hard to fit & live in a tiny prison cell.

My pops was on that same draft
Who?
?
He got over sentenced. 10 years for weed
Lol. He was moving 25 pounds. What do you think you're getting to get, lol?
Every game in college he was high🤣
Do Keith Lee next?
I watched Lenny Bias at the UM games and thought he was even more explosive than MJ
Do a Jordan Poole stunted growth because of Draymond Green knocking the “respect of opposing players” out of his career. Turned that man into Rodney Dangerfield 😂
This my homie dad pops aaaaa
Them fed sentences be real.
300-400 months + is when it's real real.
Do my boy from Kansas Frank Mason
The question JC is did Bias curse the whole draft in 86😊
Brad Daughtery the nerd of that Draft.
Len Bias only has himself to blame though. So saying he “never had a chance” is wrong. He had his chance and made really bad decisions.
Man that whole suns roster was coking it up lol
Weed is not a gate way drug, I know people who smoked weed for decades and never tried coke or anything else. It’s a personality thing.
Being 7 foot in prison had to suck even worse. Probably had his whole knee hanging off the bunk
A 7ft drug dealer, not hard to man smh
Too bad bias died from that junk before he could tear Jordan a new one!! I think he definitely would have won a few chips and probably better than Jordan,my opinion though.
I used to like your channel but you focus too much on the negative! Like you saying subliminally if given the chance you wouldn’t do this!
Bedford > Killian Hayes 🤷♀️
Lol that ain't sayin much
My nigga was a road runner 😂
