If I recall right a lot of what makes this song so beloved is that it's symbolic on top of its beauty. The lyrics, "live and learn", are fitting to both Sonic and Shadow. Sonic lives to learn, and becomes a better person by the end of the story (as protagonists usually do). Shadow learns to live, to have his life no longer be dictated by his origins. He's gone through a lot of traumatic stuff as well, and a part of why this song is so well-placed in the games is his connection to the "lizard". Both he and the lizard were friends of Maria, a human girl who was terminally ill, and both were created as a part of a bioengineering program to try and cure her (or something like that). The lizard was her pet salamander before it was turned into a bioweapon. They both grew hateful and regretful after Maria was killed, but Shadow eventually moved on (Lived and Learned, one might say) while the Lizard remained a weapon of destruction that despises humanity. The climactic battle between Shadow and the Lizard (with Sonic being the supporting catalyst for the former's growth) represents the future coming to terms with the past. At least, that's how I remember it. It's been *ages* since I've even touched a Sonic game, let alone beat one lol. Anyhow, if you read all this, thanks! I hope it was insightful enough to be interesting.
My favorite Sonic game and soundtrack is Unleashed. It’s a worldwide adventure and the composers actually put in the upmost effort to accurately represent every culture in the game musically.

Sorry that I'm a bit late to watch, work's been keeping me busy this week + my birthday yesterday but I'm glad you enjoyed the song! You can find videos of the Sonic Symphony online, an event where different Sonic music is performed live and often by different artists then the original. While I haven't had the chance to attend one in person, just seeing these videos where all the fans sing along gives me goosebumps. The songs are really good for integrating the audience. Great solo! I think the more electronic sound it has since it's a keyboard fits the song really well! The softer version you played right after is beautiful aswell. Both a high energy version and a more quiet version fit very well with the games story in my opinion. For the in-game part (‼️spoilers for the ending‼️): I think it's perfect for the games final boss. Its a hype song that makes you feel with the characters, you want to defeat the biolizard to fulfill Maria's final wish and save everyone. Shadow being the ultimate lifeform fighting against the prototype (Biolizard/Finalhazard) together with the, in Shadow's eyes, true ultimate life form (Sonic) in their super forms is such a cool ending to a Sonic game even over 2 decades later. Shadow's sacrifice at the end to fulfill Maria's wish to save humanity still hits hard, even knowing that he survives. SA2 was the last Sonic game on a first party console by SEGA so they wanted to go out with a bang since they at the time didn't know if this would be the last Sonic game they made. I think they certainly did just that.💫 Also thanks for the shoutout! Looking forward to what you're gonna react to next! :)

@@JulianChoochi I heard was a copyright problem belong only to sonic team. But 4Kids tv adaptation really screwed up lots of anime in its dub. The movie said to be fine using the tune. As for songs, I'm a huge game fan especially indie, JRPGS, and Action themes. Maybe Drinking it down from L'arc-en-ciel. It was for Devil May Cry 4 in the Japanese version. The guitarist of the group was a huge fan of the franchise

My next request would be from the group Bump of chicken 'Karma' for tales of the abyss theme. The installment was my favorite of the tale series. I would also like to suggest for you to listen to the Sonic CD OST, specifically the JP/EU version, Quartz Quadrant Present and Stardust Speedway Bad Future are my favorites(this game has a time travel mechanic, so all tracks have past, present, good future and bad future versions, all of them different from each other, but maintaining the same idea) but don’t forget the American version, it got some bangers in it too it’s easily my favorite sonic soundtrack of all time, it’s so ahead of its time for a 1993 game, the quality is insane Keep up the good work!

If you'd like to listen to more rock n' roll from Sonic, try my two favorite songs: "Open your heart" from Sonic Adventure 1 or "Knight of the wind" from Sonic and The black knight, also you could give it a try to the "Shadow The Hedgehog (2005)" soundtrack. This song is currently my #1 favorite song of all the ones that I've ever listened to, no doubt about that! You could try reacting to Shadow's very first character theme "Throw it all away" by Everett Bradley which plays in SA2 during the cutscene when Sonic and him first meet and in the credits for the Dark Story. That character theme always annoyingly gets overshadowed by "I am all of me" and "All hail Shadow".

AHH I FORGOT. His World from Sonic The Hedgehog is a good one. Its the character theme for Sonic in the 06 game, like how Dreams of an Absolution is Silvers. It features, Matty and Ali from a band Zebrahead, who also did their own cover of the song. Listen to both, we really love those two! AND Knight of The Wind from The Black Knight, and Live Life from the same game, which is slower but peaceful.

My next request would be from the group Bump of chicken 'Karma' for tales of the abyss theme. The installment was my favorite of the tale series. But it's underrated despite its many adaptations in Japan.

I would also like to suggest for you to listen to the Sonic CD OST, specifically the JP/EU version, Quartz Quadrant Present and Stardust Speedway Bad Future are my favorites(this game has a time travel mechanic, so all tracks have past, present, good future and bad future versions, all of them different from each other, but maintaining the same idea) but don’t forget the American version, it got some bangers in it too
it’s easily my favorite sonic soundtrack of all time, it’s so ahead of its time for a 1993 game, the quality is insane

If you'd like to listen to more rock n' roll from Sonic, try my two favorite songs: "Open your heart" from Sonic Adventure 1 or "Knight of the wind" from Sonic and The black knight, also you could give it a try to the "Shadow The Hedgehog (2005)" soundtrack. But if you want some variable music, check out the "Sonic Unleashed" sountrack. Those are my recommendations, hope you're interested in one of them, have a good afternoon!

You could try reacting to Shadow's very first character theme "Throw it all away" by Everett Bradley which plays in SA2 during the cutscene when Sonic and him first meet and in the credits for the Dark Story. That character theme always annoyingly gets overshadowed by "I am all of me" and "All hail Shadow".

AHH I FORGOT. His World from Sonic The Hedgehog is a good one. Its the character theme for Sonic in the 06 game, like how Dreams of an Absolution is Silvers. It features, Matty and Ali from a band Zebrahead, who also did their own cover of the song. Listen to both, we really love those two!
AND Knight of The Wind from The Black Knight, and Live Life from the same game, which is slower but peaceful.

i love both! if you like sonic music but don't like final fantasy, you should hear final fantasy 7 - "those who fight together". It could be a good starting point! But sonic music is amazing! Live and Learn is all time one of the best pieces of music for video games❤
