I bought the first privately-registered GT (hatch) in Oz, 2 years ago. Put 42K kms on it before it was stolen and wrecked. That car is such a superb piece of kit, putting the finishing touches on a great package, with its 1.6T engine. I've now got a sedan GT replacement (don't ask why the different body styles - long story), and could not be happier. In between hatch and sedan I had several opportunities to drive the normally-aspirated Cerato. Great car - very smooth ride - and such a bargain. Either GT or normally-aspirated are great choices.
Two things: The "automatic" is an in-house CVT that they call an "IVT", but works the same. Normally, the charging point in the center console is used by the rear seat occupants. I really like the back seat A/C vents! Great review!
Why does my 2020 Cerato sedan not have a manual boot release at the back? The car being reviewed is in SA and I am in NSW. I have to pull the release lever from the driver side seat or use the remote.
Picked my BD Cerato Sport+ Friday. I love the car but felt let down by Kia Australia as we do not get Qi wireless charging, no sunroof, no electric seats and no heated wheel like the rest of the world. Everyone slams the old engine and tranny however I feel much better with something that is tried and tested and works well. They car feel very solidly made.
I saw one of these this week in white and i thought it looked stylish and neat. Bit disappointed to hear about the engine being normally aspirated. I hope they bring a turbo engine to match its style.
I thought the sport plus came with LED rear tail lamps- this is dissapointing.... Also the sport plus in other countries, get the wireless charging as standard. I'm kinda dissapointed that they take options away from the Aussie market to get more dollar. I was actually going to buy one of these in the next few months. But I'm now going to wait till the gt version comes out and see. Otherwise I'll be trading my hyundai in for another new Hyundai.
What a great review, you packed in everything I wanted to know in five minutes. Well done young man.

Great review!
David Morse we don’t get the CVT in Australia with the new Smart Stream engine, we get a carryover 2.0 with 6AT instead! Thanks for watching!
Thanks! I saw that on some other videos and realized that apparently only we get that IVT. Maybe if it works here, you'll get stuck with it too. :-)
James, auto not ivt as in the forte in the mexican made models
Awesome review! I can't wait to review the 2019 Kia Forte once it arrives in America. From one car reviewer to another, keep up the great review!
Thank you so much!
James Wong, No problem! You're a great presenter!
spotted it...drove it...PURCHACED IT !!!
Good onya. I bought an Optima Si demo a couple of months. Loving it.
Stephen edwards got a 2018 Kia Forte lx
How's the road noise on country highways?
This reviewer done real good job keep it buddy ! Btw can’t wait for the hatch
Excellent presentation for such a young fellow. Add a little humour and you got it good.
Jaffar Abdul Baqi thanks heaps!
He’s almost identically following a Carwow review format
Great review! Keep up the good work.
Gently seconding the request for clipped nails. Thanks
MrUnbelievableAbs I’ll get a proper manicure next time for you guys! 😂
It's a car review, not a manicure review for God's sake 😐
It’s not just a shelf there at the front.. it’s wireless charging pad is it not?
No wireless charging pad on Aussie models yet, might be coming with the GT at the end of the year or early 2019 though!
James Wong Thanks mate! Great review on a great value car. Will get one. 👍🏻
@@hairulnizam85 New GT is out, test drove it. It's AMAZING. Does include wireless charging in the GT.
1. Should have LED tailights, it's 2018.
2. Wish they did a 1.6T engine
1. This isn’t the gt
2. Barely any cars at this price point have led tail lights
LED lights. Yawn. How does it drive, handle, ergonomics fuel economy, whole of life cost.....2.4 engine form the Optima Si. Why? Service intervals :-)
It has LED taillights in the global market
There's a Turbo GT coming out around early 2019. Do your research.
Irrelevant - entry level should have a small 1.4L turbo up to a 2.0L turbo GT model.
How do I turn of SOC Fuse on my 2019 Kia Cerato?

Does sports plus seat adjustment is automatic or manual?

New Cerato GT is out with all of those feature's (even memory seats) and the wonderfull 1.6Turbo and it's only 31,990!
Wanna see the hatch? Look for the New Kia Cee´d in Europe
nice review, however, try and pace your sentences. A bit too quick
The hatchback version is the kia ceed
Interesting that Australia doesn't get the CVT. That's the only model we get here in Korea. They say it's very good, and very efficient.
Are you sure that you don't mean DCT? Dual Clutch Transmission is only available on 1.6Turbo's on cars such as the new Cerato GT.

TRAINing the world there is a turbo coming late-2018/early-2019 :)
Hi, great review and everything but where did you get your sweater?!
Haha! Got it from YD...
#Nailclipper
Can't wait too see the forte5 hatch!!!
Great review
Looks like a mini-Stinger. Glad to see it has a manual hand brake. So odd today.
I love manual hand brakes, I can't wrap my head around the electronic ones.
And really dislike the foot pedal ones. I think the Sonata has that.
Your back!!! I can see you use glasses nie
Miguel López back and better than ever!
James Wong you only review red kias or what dude, it takes sooo long for you to be in a video
That model is out of date a complete revamp in late 2018
Great vid but I hate space savers. Need me a full sized spare wheel 😒
I have this model in the base, I threw a full sized in the tire spot in the boot yesterday, fits like a charm, so you still have that option ;)
Independent rear suspension. 😍
It is better if kia can give electronic parking brake for this cerato.
Nice vid
If got full LED headlights and taillights will be more pleasing imo.
The new Cerato GT is out with a better engine, heaps more feature's and all LED head/taillights!
GT and Hatch just came out! Check Kia.com.au. Drove it today and it's actually quick!
Just curious. Does anyone drive in Australia with manual gear box? Where is the fun in driving? I don't get it. :)
Not a fun car, till now! The GT came out with a better 1.6Turbo. However, no manual transmission.
Generally, the reviewers get a on the spot manicure review, its called review the reviewer warts and voice over product.
They need a turbo in there just like the older bro hyundai i30 sr model
The new GT Cerato is out!!!
Nice car 😍😘I LOVE KIA😘😍
What is his name pls?
Bokimon it literally says it in big writing at the start of the video
James Wong ☺️

GT is out now!!! Way more feature's, more fun and still cheaper than the i30SR/i30NLine (non premium).
Best!
I am Asian as well but long nails are Asian tradition even you're so called ABC?
nice cars but the warranty is bullshit since they never honor it.
They always do! They HAVE to.
nice
Wtf that nails!
Ricardo Frez gotta scratch my back somehow!
Maybe he's gay?
They look nice !
It's a Chinese thing.
This is Kia ceed sedan...
I'm seeing a LANCER EX copycat
Agree but much improved design copy.
Everyone complaining about his nails? I would of never noticed, if anyone saw my nails... eeeek.
It’s not leather!
I was a little distracted he's very handsome but dude please cut your nails
Such a generic review.
Some of the plastics are "scratchy" but don't worry "because you won't be touching them" please stop insulting your audience
The fingernails...
