LoG's shorts started appearing on my yt-feed a couple of months ago and every one of them has been an eye-opener - especially the shorts-series that's based on seeing an E-shaped barre chord as 1-5-1-3-5-1 - that was really mind-blowing and now I've mentally converted all the chord shapes to the same number coding and try to do my best to keep thinking of them that way to keep track of where the next scale interval is on each string. He can be a bit too quick (i.e. when playing through an idea) but the principles behind his way of thinking are a revelation for me.

Wow, outta the park and still rising! I pulled a similar concept (identify the root note position and take it from there) from several of your lessons Chris but his explanation was unique and made me feel I can do this even if I don't have every note memorized as you appear to. I'll definitely have that "gonna suck for awhile" thing going on for awhile but that visual approach clearly seems worth the pain it'll take to figure it out and apply it across the fretboard.
