I've just found out about this model. I have and love my rangeman and I love the GW-7900 range. This is a cool early model of the rangeman and I'd deffo love a couple of these in the collection. Especially if parts are still available. Cool review 👍
I still have, I've been using 10 years on one battery. It comes from the last production batch. Everything works, only the strap started to break. I have a spare, original one, but I'm waiting for nylop straps.
Just replace the rechargeable battery today, cause the battery doesn't seems to hold charge anymore. Own it for about 15 years. You are right it's quite comfortable to wear, I also have Protrek PRG600 and it's heavy and big after a few hours. Love the riseman because of the crisp display, easily accessible light button and nice night illumination. The only thing I miss is the compass and I'll be getting a strap compass as you suggested. Thanks for your tip. BTW, where do you get the green bezel? Thinking of replacing mine too. Thanks.
