One thing about lamenting the manual trans. If you go for the manual, you're actually losing out on some of the tech that gets you the 0-60 in 3.4s. If memory serves, it'll get you close at around 3.6 - 3.8s. I was speccing out the 4s in yellow, but that blacked out look is pretty sweet, too!

Easy answer. The base car you can wring out on the street but the S requires large sections of asphalt or a track to ring out.
I love my base 911 Carrera 992, it rides smoother than the S and I can drive it higher in rev range on the street than even the most skilled driver could ever drive the S.

      Get what fits !
This review started out convoluted with him referring to the C2 as an S…….then taking the leap that buyers of “base” Carrera’s try to option them to “look like as S.”
I’m trying to be……..diplomatic here……but, that statement is, well, BULLSHIT.
Obviously I have a C2. I also have the means to have gone Turbo S.
I DIDN’T WANT AN S, TURBO S OR A FERRARI……just a nice driving C2 that looks just like it is, thank you !!

      @@sillybilly7467 Billy….I’ll give you 4 reasons why I got what I did…..
      # 1. I’m old.
      # 2. I have absolutely NO NEED for 640 hp.
      # 3. The C2 fits me PERFECTLY.
      #4. I’m old.
I came up in the days when you could buy a REAL Shelby Cobra for about $6,000 !
They were the baddest, fastest car on the planet……they would smoke just about anything that burned gas.
People nowadays seem hung up on horsepower and 0-60 times.
The C2 Porsche, if it really matters, is faster than that Cobra !
If you absolutely can’t wait an extra 2 seconds to get to 60, hand your sales rep another $100 grand for that luxury.
It makes no sense to me, but it’s what ever makes you happy !!

    I can’t take it……this is my second…and last comment.
The reviewer clearly doesn’t know his subject….how embarrassing.
He’s talking about opening the “ frunk “……according to this expert, you must use a button inside the car…or a button on the key. If it’s in your pocket, you’re SOL.
Well, not exactly. You can merely wave your hand over the Porsche badge on the frunk and “ bingo” it pops open !
Of course, another aspect of this car he’s clueless about….!

You make a good point and I agree with the numbers that you suggest, however, Porsche does underrate their HP and performance times though. German and Italian car manufacturers do that, but yeah, for today's numbers, they should be over 450 HP for the legendary 911 line of cars.

    • @Colin1486
      @Colin1486 2 года назад +3

point of a base 911 is that it can be your daily driver, and track day without any changes. You really don't want 450+ hp when you're driving your daily commute etc. I have a 911 Carrera 4S and it never lacks for power when needed.

@@edmasoud2826 Ed, go with what fits your needs……AND DON’T succumb to peer pressure to have an “S” following “Carrera” on the ass of your car.
      The C2 is phenomenal. Period.
If you feel the need for the additional 55 or 60 hp, by all means, pay the price and do it !
It could make all the difference in the world on your next trip to the store.
Irrespective of which you choose, you’re going to love it……..unless, of course, getting to 60 about 3/10’s of a second slower in a C2 is going to ruin your day and image.
