One thing about lamenting the manual trans. If you go for the manual, you're actually losing out on some of the tech that gets you the 0-60 in 3.4s. If memory serves, it'll get you close at around 3.6 - 3.8s. I was speccing out the 4s in yellow, but that blacked out look is pretty sweet, too!
This was a great review. Touched everything I needed to know about base vs S and S/4S. Looking at a 2021 4S cabriolet as we speak so this helped alot. Thanks!
I wanted a C8 so badly until I watched all the reviews comparing it to the 911. Got the 911, but still want to try driving a C8. now the Z06 is out, probably worth waiting for another year or so for the crazy hype(markup) to calm down…
@tkmr0324 concerned about maintenance issues with the Turbos, don't like sound, and more power than desired on roads I drive. That said, now is apparently the time to buy a used Turbo as prices have appeared to bottom out.
Really enjoy your videos... You're not a biased fan boy that many others are. Very fair and balanced. Can you tell us where you got the Beautiful PEPITA hooded jacket?? I would buy that puppy right now!
Easy answer. The base car you can wring out on the street but the S requires large sections of asphalt or a track to ring out. I love my base 911 Carrera 992, it rides smoother than the S and I can drive it higher in rev range on the street than even the most skilled driver could ever drive the S.
I noticed that in this video, when the top is down u are able to have the back windows up. I have a '23 911 and u cannot put the rear windows up if the top is down. Wondering why they changed that.
@@DriveSteady thanks... my friend is drooling over this but he is 6'6 and his strugle is if he could fit in it... thanks for taking time answering my silly question... more power to your channel...👍💙
Thanks this is the exact question I was wondering. Do I need all wheel drive in California? Is the 0-60 improvement worth it? Was the ride, aka bumpy la streets worse in the 4s because its sport* suspension tuned?
Get what fits ! Obviously I have a C2. I also have the means to have gone Turbo S. I DIDN’T WANT AN S, TURBO S OR A FERRARI……just a nice driving C2 that looks just like it is, thank you !!

I came up in the days when you could buy a REAL Shelby Cobra for about $6,000 ! They were the baddest, fastest car on the planet……they would smoke just about anything that burned gas. People nowadays seem hung up on horsepower and 0-60 times. The C2 Porsche, if it really matters, is faster than that Cobra ! If you absolutely can’t wait an extra 2 seconds to get to 60, hand your sales rep another $100 grand for that luxury. It makes no sense to me, but it’s what ever makes you happy !! Let me know what color you get.
better get a non-S 4, paying extra $20k for 60 extra hp makes no sense. But the awd is better to have but never need it than get to a point when you need it and not have it
The front looks like it had its teeth knocked out. Terrible design error. But hey, for only $3K you can make it look like the vents and grill are separated. That was free on all older versions for about 20+ years.

You can merely wave your hand over the Porsche badge on the frunk and “ bingo” it pops open ! Of course, another aspect of this car he’s clueless about….! Ok….I’m going to shut up and see how much longer I can take it….
You make a good point and I agree with the numbers that you suggest, however, Porsche does underrate their HP and performance times though. German and Italian car manufacturers do that, but yeah, for today's numbers, they should be over 450 HP for the legendary 911 line of cars.
point of a base 911 is that it can be your daily driver, and track day without any changes. You really don't want 450+ hp when you're driving your daily commute etc. I have a 911 Carrera 4S and it never lacks for power when needed.
@@edmasoud2826 Ed, go with what fits your needs……AND DON’T succumb to peer pressure to have an “S” following “Carrera” on the ass of your car. The C2 is phenomenal. Period. With the PDK you lose half of the fun and involvment.

I actually like the smaller wheels, better ride comfort, less weight, less pricy.
Better for track!!
Cant Go wrong with any 911
Great review. Thank you! I’m looking, but it needs to be a stick shift, all wheel drive.
Why all wheel drive. Here in Chicago winter tires are enough to make your 911 a four season car.
@@tedlazakis5670I'm comfortable and grounded in an all wheel drive. Yes, I do have winter tires as well.
Very cool car. $200,000? Not. A. Chance. The only thing more amazing than Porsche engineering, is Porsche marketing. Two hundred thousand dollars!
Nice hair homie!
You DO get PASM on the base, just not the 10mm drop.
Get the Carrera S Manual. No open diff, bigger brakes, more standard equipment, better resale. No need for all wheel drive. Get winter tires.
