This is definitely the best loyalist song. It's a great commentary on the hopelessness of WW1 and definitely the definitive song about that conflict. It also manages to actually criticize Lord Carson and his poorly thought out plan to fight England so that his country could stay a part of Britain, which makes zero sense.

@@khaimacfarlane They weren't really sure if they were gonna fight the South and their various Militias in a civil war or if they were gonna fight England. The UVF had contacts in the Royal Irish Constabulary. But it wasn't clear if they would join the uprising considering the Clyde Valley was hiding the guns from the RIC, but the RIC later helped keep those same guns safe for the UVF while WW1 was going on. Option one is that the RIC joined the UVF in an uprising. (Likely leading to The British Army being deployed) option 2 would be that they would fight against it (where it would go down more similarly to the Irish War of Independence, with no British Army involvement and all of the fighting being carried out by RIC and Auxiliaries against the UVF). There was too much uncertainty for Lord Carson's plan to ever work.
