As someone who owns the minilogue, to any synth people out there, or just aspiring producers and composers who want some more customizability with their synth sounds on their projects, or like the freedom and sound of a synth, absolutely get this. It's pretty big, I'll tell you that, but it's surprisingly light, it looks beautiful, it feels amazing, the interface is very interactive and intuitive, the sound is great, and it's overall just an amazing synth.
Too bad it goes out of tune soo easily, yes I did warm it up for 2 hours reset the global settings same. I can't tweek much at all unless I just set once and forget it.
Kylie Minogue has a Monologue. Her Sister, Dani Minogue, Has a Minilogue. When they both have a duet, they have a Dialogue. When they both stare at each other without saying a word, they have a Prologue. When they get together after an argument, they have an Epilogue. 🤷♂️😬
I only have one (BIG) question for Reverb: How did u get a model that has a white stripe on all the knobs?? I had to buy a separate light cuz I typically couldn't see where anything was set at here. Was always annoyed by this, functionally. Every product page from every store (incl. yours), I've only seen all-black knobs... Please explain... Thanks!
I know you asked this like 3 months ago but my suspicion is that the just took a fine tip white marker to the original black knobs. I know there are companies that sell aftermarket knobs, so maybe they went that route as well, but they look stock to me.
Cons: -Small keys -Weak low-end -It might be too noisy and messy for some genres Pros: -Warm, fuzzy, wobbly, analog character -Super intuitive sound design -Lots of downloadable presets -Bang for the buck -Perfect for beginners
What is not priority for the polyphony? If I'm holding a three-note chord with my left hand and then play a double stop with my right, what will happen? Which voice(s) will drop? Or will the new notes just fail to sound? Also, does this have a drum machine built in? Thanks!
I love this synth tremendously(the sound,the color,knobs & price)...but I would have much preferred if this synth was implemented in the Korg Krome.Currently,the Krome is Korg's mid-grade workstation synth and although I love it,it does not have a virtual analogue synth add on option,like the M3 had.I would have been fine,with paying $300 more for my Krome,if something like this was included from the factory...or there was some sort of expansion chip.The Kronos,while it is amazing,is just a very expensive computer DAW,that takes forever and a day,to boot up and I can't deal with that.Korg really needs to bring back virtual analogue and also needs to implement flash memory(rather than an outdated,Linux based system.)
I agree, the Krome sequencer is MUCH better than the Kronos one (no piano roll, imposible to listen to drum track before adding it to the song, the real time knobs does not keep changes during recording, no Cue List, etc). Krog should have added an analog engine plus external audio input and sampling, that is where Yamaha Moxf and Roland FA series run with advantage
+1carloasis Yeah...the MOXF's expansion option is nice,but I sold my MOXF...because the display screen is way too small and the on-screen menus are tedious and confusing.I really like the FA08...but not ready to spend $1,800 and I really wanted the Korg,because of the 73 key option and Platinum color scheme.
Keep in mind, the best synth demos you will hear are not just a synth plugged into speakers. There may be soft/hardware amps, pedals, compressors etc. These synth presets show you what raw sounds you have to work with, not what will be just dropped into a song.

I'm beginning to play keyboards from playing guitar for a long time. I'm looking to invest in a synth that sounds like something on the lines of Rush/Devo/Ministry with good versatility in song making. I was looking at something in the $500 or so range but will put in a little more if needed. I had my eyes on the minilogue but I was some other options as well. I'd appreciate any responses.
DelScully It’s a great synth and found one on ebay, like new, much less expensive than new. Running it through a bass/ organ amp and as much bass as i need. Don’t have to jump through menus. Hope that helps
For the money, its a real value, however, the "manual" that comes with it is not very helpful, basically a couple of pages without any information concerning how to expand the instrument when using it as a subordinate sound source (assigned channel) or when another keyboard is the controller. It also would have really nice if arpeggiated chord sequences could be changed by pressing the respective key(s) as is available in other synthes; a feature that would have been useful and probably easy to incorporate into the unit.
Hi! I'm a guitarist/songwriter looking to buy my first synthesizer to add another dimension to my music. I've done a little research and it seems like either this or the new Korg Monologue Analog Synth are the best options for beginners, but I don't know much about using synthesizers at all. I'm trying to find something that's easy to figure out for beginners, but also has a thick, diverse range of presets and sounds. What would you recommend is the best synthesizer for me to buy? I have a relatively low budget and probably won't be able to spend more than $400. Thanks!
Microkorgs are an excellent choice too, I prefer it's sound but this one has really great features. It really depends on what you want to get out of it. Like for example, my favorite synth is the DX7 and it has nothing in common with these kinds of synth and a totally different sound. It also has a free vst modeled after it called Dexed which I adore.
I know you posted this a year ago but if you're still looking I'd suggest getting this over a microkorg. Microkorg may have more options but you have to deep dive a little bit to get unique sounds in a way thats not like a traditional synth. This synth is perfect for learning the basics because it has pretty much everything you need all in the forefront and labeled decently. You can twist the knobs and learn what each thing does instead of diving in like a microkorg
@@galacticpig6890 there would be no sound. just the waves on the oscilloscope. personally I much prefer not having built in speakers, they are rarely good. just plug in some headphones or a portable speaker. ezpz
Simon Mitchell i have both and they are very different weapons. the minilouge just isnt as fat as the brute so my baselines are mostly from the brute. you can make some serious fuked up sounds on the minilouge though, i no longer use any plugins, i just open a black preset and tweek until im happy and if i ever need that one tool for the job the minilouge useualy pulls it out of the bag 👌👌
with monophonic you only have a single sound oscillator so you can only play one note at a time (no chords). THis is great for bass and leads. Polyphonic means you can play multiple notes at once. So you can play full chords.

At times it looks like he is "fake dj-ing" on that synth.
what does polyphonic and monophonic mean?
Poly = many
mono = one
Phonic = sound

with monophonic you only have a single sound oscillator so you can only play one note at a time (no chords). THis is great for bass and leads. Polyphonic means you can play multiple notes at once. So you can play full chords.
It's referring to the number of voices the synth has that can be heard at one time. A monosynth only has one voice, so there can be no chords played.
Means the dinosaurs are back...or that theyre gone or something
