    Lovely video and informative as always. I would love to browse the little shops and dance in the festivals but I can't cope with the heat and humidity. So I prefer to view Sakura or Momiji.

      Thank you Ryuga san! Right, every season has some cultural events and you can enjoy indoor facility in winter too. I recommend to eat shaved ice outside even in summer. ^^ 🍧

    I am booking a Trip from August 1st - 10th for my significant other's birthday but was worried about the heat. Thank you for the info and re assurance. I love that even though its hot during the day, its perfect Temperature to get lost at night 👍 you Earned a SUBSCRIBER

    Use umbrella, use handheld power fan, get cool drinks. Note: the drinks in the vending machines are colder than the ones from convenience stores. The worst is being in the subways until you get on the trains. Ooh, so hot and crowded. But love Japan!

    Thanks for another great video Kengo. I like the suggestions that you give, but for me, Tokyo is about discovering and walking a lot, and not about beach or pool time. So I think I will prefer to continue to visit in spring or autumn. Although it would be great to experience a festival, and I believe they mostly are in summer.

    So nice to see your summer in Tokyo video. I can't bear the strong heat and humidity and the crowd, so will avoid summer in Japan. I traveled to Japan in Oct and March. I hope to visit again in May, after the Golden Week of course.

    Lovely video! Shaved iced Udon?! Excellent idea to try!! Together with my favourite dish, unagi.. I'll be visiting Tokyo Tower by night too, as one of the hotels I will be staying in will be near it at Hamamatsucho.. Love the line dancing!!

    My only time to visit Japan will be August, people advise me of the heat and taifu. I will try concentrate my 14 days in Kanto Area. Thank you for the excellent explanation.

      Thank you for watching and your comment. Early September would be still hot and humid as in mid summer, but probably the highest temperature of each day starts to drop by then, and a little cooler in the evening. Have a great trip in Japan. :)

      I watched another video that explained how Japanese look to the eyes for communication and expression, so sunglasses aren’t very accepted.

      Thank you for watching. :) I think the highest temperature started to drop in September, so it might be much easier than now. There are stil hot days in September, but not as intense as mid summer. I hope it will be a great weather for your trip.

      ​@@thelifeofbatteries2603 If it's anything like I was there, it pretty much drops off late September, almost suddenly around the actual day of transition from summer to fall (ie, ~22nd of September). Somehow, the humidity just dissipates and it's suddenly comfortable. Overall, September will still be better than August but if you're dropping in from somewhere else you won't be feeling the gradual cooling so it will probably still feel pretty bad.

      It really depends on the year. Usually ealy July is the end of rainy season, but it doesn't rain much recent year. It might be good to be ready for the rain though.

      I think English sites are not covering the local fesitvals, sometimes it's hard to find even in Japanese. I'll check and write here if I find one. Thank you for asking.

    Hi there! We’re planning on going for a trip in Dec/Jan, and we’re wondering how hard it is to find hotels available around that time? (This includes capsule/business etc we’re not fussy)
    People have told me you need to book far in advance around that time but we want the freedom to go where we want any time.

      Hi. Popular hotels and Ryokans are almost impossible to get for Dec.31 if last minutes, or can be very expensive, but it might not that difficult to get random business / capsule hotels in the city. You might get a little better deal if you book earlier. :)

      If you can push your trip into December or January and skip the New Year period you'll do better. New Year is kinda weird in Japan. You have to make extra sure everything you want to do or see is actually open.
      So with that in mind, if you DO have to go then, that's not the part of your trip that should be flexible. You should already research what is definitely open for you to do those days and lock in a schedule. You can be more flexible with the schedule when things are more regular there.

    Usually how much is a Yukata cost (average)?

      It really varies. You can find for about $50 for a set on Internet if not made in Japan. It can be around $500 or more if you look for high quality Yukata with handmade geta (the wooden shoes) .

    Oh my god I don’t think there is a way to enjoy Japan in summer. I was just there early July it was really terrible. People in Tokyo didn’t seem to be hot while I was sweating buckets. Lol

      we are set to go second week of July. Good luck for the hot weather as they say but that is the only time we can go:) I would say just relax and take a break go to the mall etc for AC.
