Amazing and gorgeous pieces. Very beautiful wood.
I just received my first set from Royal Chess Mall this week (a Chavet set) and I'm very pleased with their product and their service.
Loved that message at the end about chess improvement. I'm at a point in my life where I really just enjoy sitting down with one of my sets and studying a chess book. My understanding and knowledge of the game are constantly increasing, even if that doesn't mean my skill is improving.

I turned a chess piece set using standard lathe tools to make the pieces. Do you know of any tool companies that make and sell the chess piece cutters that are used in India to make the individual pieces? Please advise.

Really nice! I think one reason for pieces splitting is moisture in the wood and not putting the weight into them correctly.

I agree, moisture in the wood is something that could occur over time or just be inherently present in any wooden chess pieces, warming or cooling the wood repeatedly could expand the internal pores of the wood! Thank you for watching!

Small deviations will be present in any handmade set that's normal. Plastic chess sets that get punched out by machine should be exact, and we've seen that even there are variations. Thanks for watching!

I hate to ruin it for you but the one detail that I caught was the ears of the knights are carved backwards. The whole set looks amazing but if I pay for something handmade, I think the details should all be spot on.
