- This stretch of FM 1462 has been a hot spot for mid-day major accidents recently. This time, it seems as though a SUV crossed the center line and caught the side on an 18 Wheeler, causing a large debris field, which also damaged a GMC truck in the process.

I’m assuming with only a hole in the grill and radiator that the GMC pickup was struck by debris flying off the car. They were lucky it didn’t go through the windshield and into their face. Another awesome job Dustin.

MY Sscanner said last night f250 4ways on moddle of the road someoen screaming 1 min later local pd was flying down the road that engine roared but I honestly love And Police,fire,ems,towin,Helicopter vids I learn alot from them

I know you miss your roll back, it would be better for the large pickup you just towed backwards to the yard, and I can bet the driver who caused this will blame the semi truck driver for their own stupidity

In Texas, what colors are permitted for wreckers? I have noticed that Missouri allows for red and blue for their vehicles like yours.
Texas allows red and blue, facing the rear only, when stationary at the scene of an incident.
I never knew that you had to have your tow truck a certain color. Where I’m at they can be any color, even pink with purple polka dots.

Many years ago I was hit by an 18 wheeler while test driving a convertible. That poor car.
A few months ago we got white approved to the front and blue to the rear only while loading makes a huge difference in safety.
It definitely helps a lot. I wished more states would allow it.
Do you leave that truck in neutral when your towing it or are modern vehicles different?
It’s in park. The drive tires are on the lift.
You didn't secure that steerng wheel on the towed vehicle? At least the seat belt?

Never trust a sterring wheel lock. Sooner or later he will get burned. It's just inexperience I also didn't see any break away chains. Perhaps he installed and removed off camera. Also not wearing class 3 high vis. Texas may be different but alot of what I see would not fly here in metro North east

Dustin the difference between you & the other drivers is you take better care of the equipment then they do & I can't wait to see that beautiful flatbed tow truck of yours back again the videos don't seem right with out it .
As for clean up it's not your responsibility it's the other towing company since the mess is from there car there hauling .
The flatbed I was going to buy well I found out it's a stick . I can drive a stck really good but prefer a auto less shifting lol .

As for the clean up, although it wasn’t directly from my casualty, i was still called there to clear the road just as the other company was.
Leaving the mess for someone else just isn’t in my vocabulary. Plus you get to charge for what you do, more money in my pocket.

Personally I’d rather have a stick. Soon I’m going to be looking for an OBS truck for off-road use, and want one that’s stick.

I am just going to buy my friends F650 EXT cab flatbed . Yes the other was nice like I said it was a stick . The other truck was a 1993 3500 HD diesel w/19' bed the wants $15,500

You always lift the drive tires so you don’t burn up the transmission.

On Monday, when I was travelling to Stratford with my mom, I saw a serious traffic accident between a black 2014 Acura MDX and a 2021 white Lexus NX300. Both cars are seriously damaged. A lady even got hurt in that traffic accident.

Excuse my ignorance but I thought red and blues are legal now? I live in Harris county and all wrecker chasers have red and blues.
Yes, it’s now legal in Texas, and several other states. You can only run your lights when stationary at the scene of an incident though.
Something that a lot of the Harris County guys don’t do. Lol.

Cuz every time you going to an accident scene you the first one to do clean up when the other drivers pick up the car first
In this case, the clean up is in the middle of the road, killing a whole lane. So trying to clear the road is why I’m there. So I got the lane clear and waited for the road to get shutdown so I could turn around safely.
Sometimes I load first, but I don’t have to walk as far if I keep the vehicle close by or just pull over by where I have the clean up staged and ready to go.
Nothing to with loving clean up, and just trying to be efficient.

I'm kinda starting to like that wrecker. It sounds like my back and knee's when I work. lol If people would pay attention to what they are doing while driving there wouldn't be so many accidents on the roads. I just got home and saw an accident right up the street here. A bicyclist got hit by a car. Hope everyone was ok on that one too. good job again Dustin!

We don’t run code. That’s why we don’t have them on the front. Not many states allow that.
@@Towtruck_Dustin I guess I’ve only seen one RUclips tow channel , and I’ve only seen them go code 3 on their rotator. But then again, I just like flashing lights of any kind. I was able to install several ambers on my pickup when I was doing telecommunication engineering.

It’s not the company, it’s the drivers.
Mine is down at no fault of my own. Mine was due to a minor accident, where someone ran a red light and hit me. We’ve been waiting on Parts this whole time.
