- I took my BSA Bantam to one of my favourite places - Bicester Scramble!
The Association of Heritage Engineers aims to inspire a new generation of young people to learn our industry's skills and experience. I'm proud to be an ambassador of the AHE, and I hope to inspire new people with my revival of the Ranalah wheeling machine.

Dom, I agree, that Menasco Pirate was absolutely the most gorgeous car there! That wind tunnel style air cooling duct was stunning. As an American and car show aficionado, I wanted to point out probably the most out of place vehicle there, The early 70's C/K pickup. I know that as a general rule, full size American trucks have never had much of a following in the UK, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that one there and in such superb condition. Thank you for sharing this event with us.
Bantam has a cool look, would like to see it run. I used to love going to Old Warden when you could see the vehicles and planes doing what they were ment to do, drive and fly and not just static exhibits.
MATRA DJET! Why oh why did I not buy that orphaned Djet I found behind a body shop 30 years ago!? Prolly because I was 6'3" and wieghed as much as the front third of that car. So glad to see one in this vid

I'm not a big fan of cars, motorbikes etc. but I do like the idea of converting them to electric motors. It could save a fair amount of scrapping older models.
Bonus, with the old spoked wheels - you could make a clip to hold playing cards in all four!

Saw you chatting, but you looked in deep conversation! Did you see those Bentley gearboxes lined up, can't remember the company? I don't think it was the same shop where you filmed the Bentley engines. Just beautiful, works of art.

The bare-bones Rolls Royce is how the original cars were finished. Your 'man' (butler) would collect it & drive it to your coach-builder to put a body on it.
Hi,Edd China did the electric motor job on a ice cream van,was a transit van,then once he got the record for it converted it back.

1927 Cirrus Special: a 1926/7 Cirrus Mk.2 4-cylinder 5-litre Aero engine in a Buick chassis, put together in the early 2000s.

Looks like an amazing meet. Love to see the electric conversions, very tempted after my local kwackfit said they couldn't fully diagnose my engine fault light until an expert comes by once a week and my ODB2 attempt wouldn't even connect . Great video.

I could wander around that place for hours! That MGB towards the end caught my eye as I’m resuscitating a ‘71 GT after it sat in a garage for 34 years. If you see it again and get a chance to talk to the owners, I’d love to hear the story on it.

For various reasons many people like me will never get to Bicester Scramble.... so your video allows us to share in the enjoyment of being there... that pointy silver one with the massive engine and the pushbike wheels... you’d have to be mad to get in that! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Dom, can you please post an update on the Porsche?
Nice to see the old world skills (hand crafting panels, rebuilding old engines etc) are still being kept alive along with the enthusiasm. Hopefully, once this Covid thing is out the way I can restart my Bantam D3 swingarm restoration in honor of my dearly departed Dad (Bought it when I was 17 as a wreck and we did a 'student resto' to get it on the road, now 50+. There is light at the end of a very long tunnel and these videos have relit that want (income allowing)! Good on you, Maddog Melbourne Aus.

Dom, did you follow up on the Ranalah that Aston Martin Works still use?
@@DominicChineas The Brooklands museum has an English Wheel in their 'Aircraft Workshop' display however it is fabricated rather than cast lie a Ranalah. Might be worth including in your video if you go to the Brooklands Museum.

I also have a Bantam (1950 D1) and of all the bikes I have owned gives plenty of smiles per miles... second only to a 1941 despatch riders BSA M20 I once had, fires once every lamp post 😉

Cheers Dom for sharing your day. Some beautiful cars and your lovely Bantam. There is nothing like a car show in the UK. As I live in France I am hopefully going to Circuit des Remparts d'Angoulême this year which apparently is amazing the town is full of every car you can imagine from all over the world and the big plus is that they race them around the town. Fingers crossed it's not cancelled this year.
