in this case, VESSEL is a ...vessel for his deity. The deity's name is Sleep and as the story goes, Vessel was visited in a dream by this ancient deity, who promised him “glory and magnificence” if Vessel were to follow him. the members do not speak on stage, have no names and wear masks. this is the lore so far as I can recall .
They worship the diety "Sleep", each member is a "Vessel" for their "offerings" to Sleep, which are the songs. Thats about as far as I dug into the lore, I think its cooler for everyone to have their own interpretation of it.
I See Stars dropped 2 new songs yesterday, first music in 7 years haha. They are visualizers not videos tho. Sleep Token are very dynamic, never know what you are going to get.
I'm just a foreigner from USA, but I think it's really cool when there are new people to ST who are from UK/Britain. Personally, i'd feel really proud of these guys if they were from my same country as I think they're just incredible. When you see YT videos of them performing anywhere in the UK they really seem to have a familiar crowd where they just sorta "get it" and are singing the lyrics and music note-by-note. From my outsiders view, it sorta seems like a home coming it is just pure feels. PS. If the identity of Vessel is ever revealed broadly, I hope it's "Dave" just for your sakes!
Also will Ramos from Lorna shore is a huge fan of sleep token and has covered 2 of thier songs I would check those covers from will out too you'll be in awe... He is actually the reason I discovered sleep token now they are my absolute favorite band ever.
Great vid reaction, I'm an old school hip hop head and discovered Sleep Token last year not into metal but they have Quickly become my all time fave band and there new lp take me back to edan probably one of the best Lp"s released in the past 10 years

Sleep Token are the best band I have ever come across and the recent album is definitely my AOTY! You should go down the rabbit hole now. They’re genre bending and use elements of everything from rock, metal, RnB, trap, hip hop, gospel, and more. Even if you don’t like one song don’t write them off as every song is different and as you can see from this one they switch up completely through the songs, also don’t be thrown off by some of them being 7-8 minutes long either as it goes by far too quickly. You should start at the beginning and work your way through as they tell a story and have call backs to a lot of them. The band are anonymous, I and others know who they are but won’t reveal out of respect to the band and fans but the singer goes by the moniker Vessel, drummer, who is a beast is II, bassist III and guitarist IV. From London UK. As far as their discography goes they brought out two EPs called One and Two, then 2 singles called Jaws and The Way That You Were, then the three albums Sundowning, The Place Will Become Your Tomb, then TMBTE (Take Me Back To Eden). They’ve done five covers that I’m aware of. One being Hey Ya by OutKast, I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston, Is It Really You? By Loathe and When The Party’s Over by Billie Eilish, Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. His Vocal range I believe is B ♭2 to F#5 and he has a wonderful chest voice, head voice and scream. I have never hyper fixated on a band like I have with these! Loved the react and hopefully see many more. 🖤 The trilogy = Seduction. Destruction. Liberation.

I recommend that you check out the lore behind the band and why they where masks and are anonymous then you will understand the songs better. And they not only have 3 albums they also have 2 EPS called one and two so if you want to start from the beginning and go from there I think that's a good idea . Start with thread the needle from the one ep is not my fave but it's really good and it's the beginning of vessels journey.

They’re such a unique band and are the musical equivalent of Forrest Gumps box of chocolates as you never know what you’re going to get with each new song. Vessel has probably the most soulful emotional voice you will hear in metal music, the rest of the band are also called Vessel with 2 on drums(one of the best drummers I have ever heard), 3(or Bassy) on bass and 4 plays guitar. They currently have two EPs and two albums with the third being released this Friday(19th May). As for choosing just one song, that is difficult as they have so many great ones but I would suggest that you listen to Chokehold which is one of the new songs that they released this year. Listen to every song that gets mentioned and you’ll soon fall down the rabbit hole like me.
