- SHILOH, Samaria - Several years ago, CBN News first reported on exciting discoveries from the excavation site at ancient Shiloh.
The book of Judges in the Bible tells us Shiloh was a significant place in the history of the Israelites when they came into the Promised Land.
Today, more discoveries are emerging from the archaeological site that continue to bring the Bible to life.

How one can not believe in the Holy Bible as God's Word is beyond me. But if the penny eventually drops, and one confesses it as the truth, guess what; Then you'll find that God's Word say that Jesus is soon coming back. First to the clouds for only those that accepted His plan of salvation and live accordingly. They (we) will disappear "in the twinkling of an eye" to be taken away with Him. I think you dont have to dig that place unless God told you to do so...Because in God's time He will.reveal all things...
Everything that is happening now is God’s will. It is God’s will that these things be unveiled now, otherwise they would not be unveiled. If He did not will it, it would not be done. Nothing happens unless He wills it.
And how pray tell would you have God unveil them if not through His people who follow Him? Seems prideful to think you know better than God, no? Perhaps do not doubt what God has put in place.

What a wonderful story. However, the instructions given to Moses to build the Tabernacle were for a tent, not a building. The Lord dwelt in this tent when He was present with the Israelites when they were coming out of Egypt and then when they wandered for 40 years in the wilderness as punishment for refusing to enter the promised land. God late on says that David will not be the one to make a structure / building (theTemple) for the Lord to dwell in, but it will be his son Solomon.
What I'm getting at here is why are there walls for the Tabernacle when the Tabernacle was a tent?
I don't recall anywhere in the OT where it says the Tabernacle (tent) was rebuilt as the Tabernacle (structure with walls)?
So while this dig is wonderful, I find it difficult to believe those walls were part of the Tabernacle and that they were definitely standing where the Ark of the Covenant had stood for a long period of time.
Actually, if I knew where the Ark had stood I would be afraid to stand in such a Holy spot. Remember what happened to Uzzah when the oxen stumbled and the Ark was going to slide off the cart. He stretched out his hand to steady the Ark and God killed him for his disrespect!
If someone has verses saying where god changed his mind about living within a structure/building built by man (a temple?) I'd be interested in seeing them.
I wonder if the building excavated wasn't a synagogue or a place of meeting?

I have never loved archeology as much as I do now, seeing the Bible come to life, be proven and verified.
Exodus 36:8 Building the Tabernacle
Then all the gifted artisans among them who worked on the tabernacle made ten curtains woven of fine linen, and of blue, purple, and scarlet thread; with artistic designs of cherubim they made them.
Exodus 36:9 The length of each curtain was twenty-eight cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the curtains were all the same size.
Exodus 36:10 And he coupled five curtains to one another, and the other five curtains he coupled to one another.
Exodus 36:11 He made loops of blue yarn on the edge of the curtain on the selvedge of one set; likewise he did on the outer edge of the other curtain of the second set.
Exodus 36:12 Fifty loops he made on one curtain, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the curtain on the end of the second set; the loops held one curtain to another.
Exodus 36:13 And he made fifty clasps of gold, and coupled the curtains to one another with the clasps, that it might be one tabernacle.
Exodus 36:14 He made curtains of goats’ hair for the tent over the tabernacle; he made eleven curtains.
Exodus 36:15 The length of each curtain was thirty cubits, and the width of each curtain four cubits; the eleven curtains were the same size.
Exodus 36:16 He coupled five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves.
Exodus 36:17 And he made fifty loops on the edge of the curtain that is outermost in one set, and fifty loops he made on the edge of the curtain of the second set.
Exodus 36:18 He also made fifty bronze clasps to couple the tent together, that it might be one.
Exodus 36:19 Then he made a covering for the tent of ram skins dyed red, and a covering of badger skins above that.
Exodus 36:20 For the tabernacle he made boards of acacia wood, standing upright.
Exodus 36:21 The length of each board was ten cubits, and the width of each board a cubit and a half.
Exodus 36:22 Each board had two tenons for binding one to another. Thus he made for all the boards of the tabernacle.
Exodus 36:23 And he made boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards for the south side.
Exodus 36:24 Forty sockets of silver he made to go under the twenty boards: two sockets under each of the boards for its two tenons.
Exodus 36:25 And for the other side of the tabernacle, the north side, he made twenty boards
Exodus 36:26 and their forty sockets of silver: two sockets under each of the boards.
Exodus 36:27 For the west side of the tabernacle he made six boards.
Exodus 36:28 He also made two boards for the two back corners of the tabernacle.
Exodus 36:29 And they were coupled at the bottom and coupled together at the top by one ring. Thus he made both of them for the two corners.
Exodus 36:30 So there were eight boards and their sockets-sixteen sockets of silver-two sockets under each of the boards.
Exodus 36:31 And he made bars of acacia wood: five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle,
Exodus 36:32 five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the tabernacle on the far side westward.
Exodus 36:33 And he made the middle bar to pass through the boards from one end to the other.
Exodus 36:34 He overlaid the boards with gold, made their rings of gold to be holders for the bars, and overlaid the bars with gold.
Exodus 36:35 And he made a veil of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen; it was worked with an artistic design of cherubim.
Exodus 36:36 He made for it four pillars of acacia wood, and overlaid them with gold, with their hooks of gold; and he cast four sockets of silver for them.
Exodus 36:37 He also made a screen for the tabernacle door, of blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, made by a weaver,
Exodus 36:38 and its five pillars with their hooks. And he overlaid their capitals and their rings with gold, but their five sockets were bronze.

2 chronicles 5.10 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables which Moses put therein at Horeb when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel when they came out of Egypt. You won't find the ark. The ark is spiritual. I like History from all over the world Egypt China and so on.
