Wow! I really enjoyed this Rubin, More of this kind of reports please. It is very uplifting. Its really cool that you added more content in your show that is not about american politics but life stories of successful people. A lot will learn from this.

A super successful man who is afraid or waking up when he's 75 and realizing that he has not lived up to his potential . . . I dare say I'd be more afraid of waking up when I'm 75 and realizing that I missed all the quiet moments in life. Sitting in an empty room with my guitar, listening to the note bounce off the walls and my voice singing my song . . . the endless walks on the beach in the morn or at sunset . . . doing an inking in my car by a mountain shadow and admiring it with the knowledge I'll put it in a drawer, maybe never to view again, because tomorrow I'll create another . . . all experiences that I don't jam or pop into my schedule but are a necessity of my life.
I feel sorrow for one that is rushing about the world living up to someone else s potential. A great portion of lives misery is the constant barrage of how you can live up to you potential and achieve happiness. I believe you are born with your world, you whole universe is within you, everything outside your universe is a compliment. Searching for truths, compiling others' words and wisdom, all happiness is within one own self, ones universe.

I actually think hip-hop in more inclusive now. I think back then the idea of a white rapper was more absurd compared to now. I doubt there would be real outrage. One thing I think needs to end is treating one or two outrage blogs as a real voice of the masses. I remember being a kid back then and a white rapper was a joke, usually a white kid in a movie that was into hip hop was treated as a joke. A white rapper today as long as they're good, will get no push back.

Sounds like he comes from a really tough neighborhood. Bunch of future billionaires from the same neighborhood. Goes to show you that everybody has the same opportunity no matter where you come from or how well off your family is.
For those of you on the spectrum, that's sarcasm. Look what it takes to be a billionaire if you're from Akron, Ohio; just be the greatest basketball player ever and you'll be fine, everybody else just die young, in poverty, or in jail.
Take a drive (not a walk, you are too scared to walk you pussy) through a "bad neighborhood" near you (you know, the black neighborhood) and tell me how far you think you would get if you grew up there.
Take a good look at the schools. Try to find a college, even a cheap community college. Look at the streets, are they well kept, are the potholes everywhere or did the city overlook this neighborhood? Take a look at the businesses or lack thereof there. Notice the lack of private schools. Notice the lack of any nice restaurants (or any non fast food restaurants) or factories or office buildings or really any place to get a decent wage. Think about how far somebody has to travel just to get to an area where there is work, it takes money and lots of time to travel on public transit. Notice the lack of banks, nobody has money to save. Notice the amount of liquor stores and barbershops. Seems like cutting hair is the only real profession in the area. Notice the packed bus and train stops and lack of any new cars or new car dealerships. Notice all the convenience stores that don't have gas stations attached because few people have cars. Notice the hawkish "we buy used homes cash now" signs and think about having to sell your home because you can't pay the property taxes so you're going to lose out on the house you inherited for less than it's worth even if you're lucky enough to have a home to selll because there are probably more apartments than homes and the apartments are owned by people or companies that reside outside that neighborhood, siphoning money and taxes away from there. Think about how poorly educated you must be to be ripped off by an exploitative house buying business. Notice how heavily policed they are. Imagine yourself living there and just walking home at night when a liquor store gets robbed by somebody of your skin color and think of how the police will pull up on you with their guns drawn, hope you don't have a phone in your hand or a bunch of cash in your pocket because you'll end up shot, or charged with the robbery, or just having your cash taken because of civil forfeiture, and maybe you'll spend up to 2 months in jail awaiting trial if your family can't afford bail that will be around $500 for a felony robbery you didn't commit. Let's hope 2 months out of work at your nearly minimum wage job doesn't effect your ability to pay bills or you'll be evicted and let's hope that your job is still there when you get out, because we all know foot locker cares about it's employees and will believe you when you use your one phone call to let them know you were wrongfully arrested. Hopefully it isn't run by a police chief like the one on Florida who ordered his men to arrest anybody and charge then with unsolved crimes just to close the case and in that year they solved 24 out of 25 burglaries when the year prior they only solved around 10% of burglaries. Those up to 24 wrongfully arrested people will do just fine after having their lives turned upside-down by a corrupt police force. Really, look it up. Are the police in your "nice neighborhood" targeting you like that? Are there plain clothes cops walking around your neighborhood or are they all in uniform and in actual police cars and they wave at you when you drive by? Think about how hard you'll hit the ground when you have to dive because you hear gunshots when you are walking. That's what you get when the biggest businesses are panhandling and drug sales to said panhandlers. You see the people sleeping in the doorways and stairwells of abandoned buildings, some of those people could be productive citizens if they weren't wrongfully convicted of comes they didn't commit, sine are just crazy bums, but not all. They could get off drugs or get psychological help and be productive if they could get the medical help they need but we all know healthcare is hard enough to pay for if you are middle class, nevermind poor. At least they can get emergency room service, too bad it's better to prevent a heart attack than to have one.
Tough to pull yourself up by your bootstraps when your born without boots. Personally, I prefer my tax money to to giving them boots instead of unlawful military invasions that kill 500,000 Iraqi civilians and other wermacht industries. I don't know about you, but I prefer the taxes I already give to be used on my fellow Americans and not against the "darker" people of the world. If you prefer to be the underwriter of military bombings rather than helping yourself and your fellow Americans that's cool, some people just like being evil, just don't pretend to be the good guy because you can turn a blind eye to the atrocities we pay for. Don't pretend the "Muslim invasion of Europe" isn't a result of western imperialism in the middle east and the displacement people for oil profits and religious zealotry. It just sucks for them that they were born above oil reserves, they should've been born in your neighborhood.
