While I think it was A+ keep in mind critics grades depend on what the film is and what it is trying to accomplish. You can give Infinity War an A+ because for a superhero movie it is at the top of its genre. Chernobyl gets an A because it is nearly perfect but it resides in a realm of top tier film vis-a-vis historical dramas. An A+ biology paper shouldn't be compared with an A+ english essay.
@Rahul Mondal I would probably accidentally spoil it explaining it. It's German and i highly suggest watching it in German with subtitles. Here is the google summary of the show When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids. The mystery-drama series introduces an intricate puzzle filled with twists that includes a web of curious characters, all of whom have a connection to the town's troubled history -- whether they know it or not. The story includes supernatural elements that tie back to the same town in 1986. "Dark" represents the first German original series produced for Netflix.
Dear Chris, If you had the curiosity to know more about the socilism ideology in the eastern Europe, this show would recieve an A+ for sure. I'm a roumanian ( my country is right near Uckraine) and in the 80' the comunist party ruled here as well. I assure you that Cernobyl was nevertheless the result of the socialist mentality, which was based on 2 unoficial slogans : "Is not my fault" and " It's ok like that as well".
Chernobyl is freaking incredible. Knowing Craig and Johan's involvement in The Last of Us series has me beyond excited. I genuinely believe it could be the best show ever made.
@@liamtahaney713 Not, that's how you know the writer is a dumb fuck who transfers modern american realities to the 80s USSR (but maybe that was his initial plan). IT DIDN'T WORK THAT WAY! There were stupid errors done by the authorities during liquidation, but not of the kind shown in the series!

An amazing piece of television. Contrast this finessed excellence with the GOT season 8 car crash. Best scene when Stellan Skarsgard says to Jared Harris, ‘I’m an inconsequential man, but I stood next to people who aren’t”, subtle, unmelodramatic and elegiac. These guys literally saved the World.

Radiation isn't (or at least shouldn't be) inherently scary. When strict radiological controls are in place the risk of radiation exposure is extremely small compared to hazards we encounter in everyday life. It's when it isn't taken seriously and people cut corners that problems arise, as portrayed in the show. I'm a radiological controls technician at Newport News Shipbuilding (the company that builds and refuels nuclear powered aircraft carriers and submarines for the Navy) so those controls are my responsibility and we're trained extensively and have many failsafes in place to prevent these kinds of problems from ever happening.
I was planning on watching this mini series, but I didn't have the opportunity yet. As soon as Chris said 'spoiler alert' I clicked away and watched the whole series in one sitting. Glad I did, it's an amazing series that gives the viewer an idea of what went wrong and how to prevent it in the future. During the credits I was literaly tearing up, so sad and yet so beautiful
I hope HBO turns this into the „disaster series“. Every season should cover another one. Chernobyl was really good and not stretched out unnecessary 👍👍👍
Kiergard I agree but I think it should be an entirely different disaster type rather than another nuclear incident. I’d personally love to see a series on the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake or the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane
The great part about Chernobyl is that nothing is entirely made up. There are parts that are summaries, educated guesses, and parts that are distillations of multiple people or situations. But everything is based on memoirs, or official records. Rather than drawing things out, the show reduces it to minimalist truth, with no true embellishment.
Doesn't change the fact it's still wrong. It's not even in the same league as "tuh·mei·tow" - "tuh·maa·tow". It's. Even. Flecking. Spelt. Differently. Nucular my bottocks -_-

LOL
Different genres, bro.
@@AnjanaBSubba what's that have to do with anything, don't we have any good dramas ?
Paul Ritter as *Dyatlov* definitely should have been nominated for an Emmy. Oh well.. why worry about something that isn't going to happen?

Essie S, don’t think so.. it’s been nominated for 11 emmys already, check out the IMDb page

100% agreed, it's fantastic!
If you don't check out Dark on Netflix you are doing yourself a major disservice
Amen
i watched Dark last week and was thoroughly disappointed. so many things about that show that are questionable or annoying.
@Rahul Mondal I would probably accidentally spoil it explaining it. It's German and i highly suggest watching it in German with subtitles.
Here is the google summary of the show
When two children go missing in a small German town, its sinful past is exposed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist among four families as they search for the kids.
@Rahul Mondal you won't regret it!
You should watch Dark (Netflix), it's great!
Mindblowing
I agree with you . It's way better than stranger things .

If you had the curiosity to know more about the socilism ideology in the eastern Europe, this show would recieve an A+ for sure.

Chris, have you ever seen HBO’s ‘Barry’. It’s a phenomenal and super bingeable black comedy starring Bill Hader. It’s powerful, hilarious, and filled with countless great performances. I highly recommend you check it out.
It should go down as one of the greatest show of all time
I can’t wait for season 3.
Oh Hell Yes! He should watch 'Barry'. 'Barry' is just outstanding!

Please watch DARK. Its legitimately better than any show of the last few years, including stranger things.
Red Yayhole agreed mind blown away.
Yes please!
You know what,
I thought that the second season was not going to be as good as the first one, but ended up exceeding it in quality. Such a wonderful and original show.
A few episodes left in the 2nd season. Fantastic show!
Why is everyone requesting this in the comments? It's been out for a while so I wouldn't expect so many comments for a show that isn't that popular/known. Has a new season finished airing or something?
Please watch the show DARK - it's honestly beautifully created, suspenseful and has great acting! Honestly think you would really enjoy it!

Samad Primo The second season has been out for a while. And yes it’s excellent, possibly better than Stranger Things, but probably didn’t receive much attention from American audiences because it’s in a foreign language.
Are these fake accounts? Why are these all popping up? The show isn’t that good.
Deckard nope totally not fake😅 - but yeah I absolutely loved it. The second season just came out and it was fantastic (better than the first imo). If you haven’t seen the second season watch it!!!🤓
The episode with the dogs was the weakest, and it was still amazing. And by "weakest" I mean like it was a 12 year old single malt scotch compared to 18 year old single malt scotch. The 12 is still great. The whole show is incredible.
A+ just for Hildur Guðnadóttir’s score alone. Magnificent series.

Hey Chris! Please review Netflix's DARK. Thanks
Honestly, I'm grateful that this show portrayed radiation and it's danger with the seriousness and realism it deserves. It's scary shit man
Well there is a lot of bullshit in this show and i mean a lot of bullshit so
Just because there is a lot of bullshit does not mean it bad but dont take any thing from it
Radiation isn't (or at least shouldn't be) inherently scary.

Kiergard I agree but I think it should be an entirely different disaster type rather than another nuclear incident. I’d personally love to see a series on the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake or the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane
bobbyK Thats what i was thinking. I agree with you 👍 🙂
I want them to do one about the manhattan project
The great part about Chernobyl is that nothing is entirely made up.
There are parts that are summaries, educated guesses, and parts that are distillations of multiple people or situations.
But everything is based on memoirs, or official records. Rather than drawing things out, the show reduces it to minimalist truth, with no true embellishment.
