I own the Sony 70-350mm. I've used it for street and distance architecture photography. Its reach, sharpness, feel and colours are all excellent.

A question (I'll try to explain it clearly, but my English is not very good):
with this set, what is the maximum distance where I can take a sharp picture of small birds - the size of a sparrow or a thrush?
I don't know that my equipment is not suitable; or I am 60+ and my hands are shaking (which I only see when the lens is fully extended), or I am simply ignorant and that is why my pictures of small birds are not sharp.
Thank you for your comment. I think the 70-350 lens is one of the sharpest and best lenses for Sony APS-C Cameras. Congratulations for this. 😉👍 if you want to get good close-up shots, you have to get a distance about 10 - 20m but not more. I have made very results with the lens and this distance in bird photography.
But if you want to go to the next level, I can also highly recommend the Sigma 150 to 600mm. I have made so a review about this lens. Maybe this could help you too. 😊

@@BabayagaEvi thank you, you are welcome 😊 maybe I have another tip for you. Do you know the function: clear image zoom? I have made also a video about this function in Sony cameras. This allows you to double your focal length range of your lens without any quality loss. This is a very nice feature if you don’t want to invest in big tele zoom lenses. 😉
Question 2: In the future, the camera will be upgraded to a full-frame camera. Which one is better, the 70-300 or the 70-350? Thank you.
If you want to upgrade in the future, I would recommend the Sigma 100-400. This lens is a full frame lens and also very compact and extremely sharp.

Thanks for your comment. 👍 Sony is currently replacing their GM-line up. There are no plans to replace their G-Models this year. But for APS-C I can highly recommend the Sony 70-350 and the Sigma 100-400 if you want to switch to Full Frame one day. I have made also a comparison video between these two lenses on my channel. For my these lenses are the best and sharpest I’ve testet so far. 😉
Perhaps the 70-300 FE lens should have been tested on a full frame camera, such as the Sony A7 iii 24 mpx to make it an even playing field against the 24 mpx APSC Sony. Cheers
