Hello sweet friends!
This past week I got the opportunity to go antique/vintage shopping at 3 different shops and I feel like I hit the cozy cottage jackpot! Some of the pieces that I found are things that I have been looking for quite some time. This week I will not only share those items with you but we will style them together too! I hope that this video will inspire to keep hunting for the pieces that you are dreaming of...I promise you they are out there!

I grew up with that duck head. We hung aprons on him. My mom still has it on her kitchen wall to this day.
Ohhhh I love it!! That totally makes sense! With the way our pantry is configured and the peg rail I already installed, I don’t think I can fit in her into the pantry without people walking into her…BUT I could hang an apron on her in the laundry room! Thank you so much for sharing that with me!
When I saw the basket I immediately thought of putting it by the front door to hold keys and mail, with the duck on the other side. Something higher than the basket but smaller than the duck would be nice in between. Prehaps a small wood riser with an orb on top, a stack of three books with a candle or box on top, or a framed photo. A doily or table scarf might be nice. I'm sure you'll come up with the perfect look. Your home is very lovely.

Hi Carin! What great buys you found! I like everything, but the picture placement is perfect and brightens the room and draws you in. The sconces, brass hurricane globe and champagne holder are great additions and can be used for any season. I’m not sure if this happens to you but when I have been looking for a special piece and temporarily forget; all of a sudden there it is! When you showed the duck head, my immediate thought was putting a dish towel on her but I really like the apron idea! Thanks for always sharing your home and talent with us.
Yes! That happens to me all the time!! I was so excited to finally find the ice bucket and sconces! Funny story, the day after I found the sconces…I found ANOTHER pair at the shop that I got the basket and the duck head. 😂 I see them everywhere now! Hi Carin, I look forward to your videos on Fridays. They provide some much inspiration. It's ironic that are styles are very similar. I have those exact magnolia plates and also some of the bowls. I display them in my secretary in my living room. I also have the same scones that you put in the kitchen. Since moving, I forgot about them, but I am now going to have to search for them. I commented in one of your previous videos that it has been hard to find vintage frames. Recently I have found a few. I can't believe it, but the frame that you leaned up against the mirror, is exactly the same one that I found. I love that idea, some I am going to do that with mine. Keep the videos coming. Yes!! I was telling my daughter the other day, while in line at Hobby Lobby, how I can’t believe how much I used to spend on decor there. Just to have things that everyone else had. It takes more time, but I am so pleased with the pieces that I have curated since starting to thrift and hunting antique shops. It makes such a difference!! I used to have a duck like that and it was a dish towel holder. I got it with S&H green stamps!
I’m so grateful for everyone who knew exactly what it was and what it was used for! I think I’m going to hang an apron on it in the laundry room….since I don’t have anywhere to hang it in kitchen or pantry where it won’t get constantly ran into it. It’s the cutest thing!! ❤️
I’m glad you decided to put the candle holders on both sides of the cabinets instead of either side. That would have looked a little bare on one of the sides with it! Gertie goose is actually from the 70’s-80’s & was hung in your itches to hang your dish towel over it neck. Gertrude is my choice for her name….. Ms. Gertie goose,

These are amazing finds. I've been looking for brass sconces identical to those you bought. I can only find them in the hundreds of dollars range. 😢 I loved how you styled everything but the duck in the basket. She looked just a little to large for it from my angle. Maybe the basket could be the Easter basket next to her with eggs. How about Mrs. Puddleduck for your duck piece going into the laundry? She'll also need a ribbon round her neck! Unless she's a Mr. !!😂 The green pillow covers are so pretty and go so well with the others ❤

I strongly recommend you change the 2-sided tape to Gorrilla 2-sided tape. The 3M works well for a short time. I'd hate to see your pretty vast get smashed when a sconce falls.

Maybe the duck in the basket could face the other way as though its looking towards the flowers. The mirror behind it may also reflect some of the duck head if it was placed that way.
Just a thought as you said the display did not quite work and you were thinking it may need to change.

You have a very good eye for beautiful things. The sconces are beautiful and that was the perfect place to put them. The goose in the 1980's was a kitchen decor item, if I remember correctly, and one could hang a towel over the neck. I think it will look great in a laundry room. You have a lovely decorating sense.

Those amazing brass candle wall sciences are so charming!!! Would love to know how the dbl sided tape holds them. Looks so sweet out your kitchen window. The new lamp on the piano is a game changer. And the tulips in the silver champagne bucket are perfection!
I am still loving those sconces by the window! So far they are still holding up really well! I had someone comment that I should use gorilla tape instead, for a stronger, more long term hold. So I plan on doing that…but so far so good! Thank you so much for being here!
