I can smell this video. If you know, you know 👍👍
Takes me back to my old job. Now the cherry you milled would go for furniture making or mouldings. We had clients like Hollywood cabinets, lafata cabinets and others who wanted no sap, one clear red face and no knots or red 2 faces no knots and no sap. The mom and pop shops weren't too picky but your high end cabinet shops were very picky and for good reason. They'd ship across the globe and all 50 states. There prices were crazy but you are paying for the quality of the cabinets. I ran cantek straight line saw, cantek dual head 24 inch self feed planet, timesaver resaw self feed machine, mareen Johnson gang rip machine, Madison shaper and a few other machines over my 24 years as a detailed Sawyer operator. I loved what I did. The smell of certain woods being machined was like a high you couldn't explain. I ran I'd say millions of board feet in my 24 years. I miss it ‼️ I don't miss the company and what it became.
Sorry for jaw jacking but great video #RockhillFarms 👍👍

Boy what I wouldn't give for one of those mills. 35 acres of hardwood on the homestead here.

Very nice! I'm trying to convince my dad to plant 10 acres of black walnut trees on the farm. So we can harvest the lumber. I tell you the 10 acres of fild corn doesn't even pay the taxes😒plus I love woodworking.

Beautiful wood. Cherry was always my Dad's favorite wood to work with.

There's just something about watching a mill in action. I could watch it all day! I haven't seen you use yours much. Whare do you stand on the Alaskan? Would you recommend it? I have many many oaks here. Uprooted every time we get a good wind storm. I don't like to just burn them. I feel it would be beneficial to cut them up and have usable lumber

So after uou cut it how do you keep it from splitting on the ends and warping? I know you put stringers in between to help dry them out but never had much luck with the splitting from each end!

I think they tell you to leave an extra 6 inches so you can cut 3 off each end when it splits
      I’m still learning
