These guys haven’t lost that heavy. You just gotta appreciate the progression and growth. Holy hell this stuff is so beautiful and clean compared to the old stuff. Guitar tones and the vocals are solid. This is a good example of a band who mastered the craft. So progressive.
every ablum needs a rewward to be honest, when you look back, they are and were so intune. ill copy and paste this on every dxP song i listen too, love you DWP. unreal band
Lol for real. Not sure what there thought was behind glorifying such negative places? Like they don’t seem to bring hope... am I the only one who feels that way?
From what I hear and read, _The Act_ is not an affirmative take on pain and torment. It's just generally describing what it means to be there and the desire to leave somehow, some way. There are hopeful hints here and there but the songs are part of one complete collection and should be taken in that context.
@@CrackerJoe1231 Not sure where you find glorification in this Album. If anything it's relatable, and paints a vivid picture for what I assume a lot of what they and some of their fanbase have been and are experiencing.
Remember when Roots Above came out and everyone complained about the sound changing? How about the all the hate on Dead Throne for sounding like KSE? Or each and every release after the first. Love a band not a genre.
Although I freakin love that part soo much, I think it's at its perfect length. It would lose the effect it has on you if it were longer. In context with the lyrics it feels like a moment of joy and hope that's being abruptly stopped and you're being pulled back into feeling numb. Of course you want your good state of mind to last as long as possible, but reality has it that it takes that away from you quicker than you'd wish.
@@TerraNovatius Also, although I can't name anything, I know there are songs out there with that sound/vibe as a whole theme. Anyone who knows any should shoot us that way!
I can understand the hate. They definitely did a 360 on their style and now they sound like every other main stream metal band. Clean vocals with hits of unclean every now and than and generic breakdowns...... However that doesn't mean I agree with the hate so far. I'm really not picky on my metal. Music is more bout emotions and so far I still cry and just head bang like crazy and sing my heart out to tdwp. But I'm interested in how this goes.
@@XxXnonameAsDXxX mainstream metal to me is like bring me the horizon case. They started off super heavy and hard and one of a kind in their own right. But to me mainstream metal is more clean vocals brought with a light heavy beat followed by soft and barely heard unclean vocals with maybe a break down that not really that hard. Now in this song case no i wudnt classify it as mainstream but listen to their song chemical. That to me is wat mainstream metal sounds like. But do not get me wrong. I DNT hate it or anything. I'm just saying I can understand where they coming from but to me I love this new style and old style.
Impresionante álbum, el estilo que incorporaron es muy ellos, toques progresivos, interludios ambientales, matices electrónicas justas, bajo con tremenda presencia en las canciones, etc
I remember I would just listen to hey John, born to lose, and there whole zombie ep, I didn't give anything past that a chance and I missed out big bruh, especially with this album, this album is really good, very different, very fresh.
So damn catchy,I never thought that I would like this when I heard Transit Blues then this came out and listened to some of their old stuff, really good
Roots and dead throne will always be what makes me but I do love this song and the act has some pretty special moments. I usually hate on bands pulling a 180 but Prada has been moving down this path since 8:18 and I feel like they’re doing great. Not the killer album I wanted but definitely something moving I know a lot of us really enjoyed
I mean RIP to chest and all but I can honestly say im 27 and im still not a fan....i think it was their fan community (at the time) that annoyed me the most lol but nowadays i realized i was just being a lame ass metal head lol
@@matty6146 I'm the same age and same way about them I always thought they were ok I just never felt like an emotional connection like I have felt worh TDWP over the years.
its weird how devil wears prada finally makes relatable lyrics while country music is the genere its for everybody but what do they make songs abt drinking and having good times and one night stands I love this kind of music so much better then country its saving me every day when I isten to it and scream to it also even if I get some lyrics wrong
This album is so raw and emotional. Thank you dudes from TDWP. The scene needed this.

It's just so much more mature and intelligent. The writing on this album has aged so well even though it's only been out for a little over a year.
you listen to there new album its heavy as fuuuuuck
This album is so deep
The Act is my favorite album in 5 years, no joke
I find it absolutely fascinating to witness some of my favorite "childhood" bands musicality evolve over the years. Amazing work as always!
The sadness and despair in the face of this actor is so true...
The breakdown literally pulls my soul from my body. It's beautiful
When I start to listen this album I want to cry
Tears of joy
This album is glad my soul
Yo, Jorge, u ain't no east coast gangsta
This song has everything. Beautiful, brutal, and catchy. The whole package
Love this album so much. Wave of Youth, Chemical and Numb are my favourites
This is the album that made me a fan of TDWP. Honorable mention: The Thread.
@@stevemarston2936 Well you need to go back and listen to the rest cause they're all good lol
@@blastfiendsunite420 I actually did. Transit Blues has grown on me, but gotta disagree with you overall.
sameee

My favorite song of the album!!!!
Had the chorus in my head all week
Here is a song that can be different and so catchy
Me: Depression
TDWP: The Act
Damn it. 😔😔
perfect timing for the heartbroken.

This album brought me back after years of not caring. Last release I actually cared about was the zombie ep. So glad this is what got put out.
Zombies was the last album of theirs I listened too also. I've bought and thrashed this album since it's release, love it.
Last one I cared about was with roots above and branches below.
Get ready for zombie ep 2
Then you missed so much of this band. They have so many good songs in between.
@@mike0near so true, Dead Throne, 8:18 and Transit Blues have really good songs. Also South of the City is one of their best songs
The teenager in me is so happy for this.
If you love Silent Planet, you must be enjoying the last TDWP.
Perfect use of post rock elements and impactful messages.
My fav song off the album
Remember when Roots Above came out and everyone complained about the sound changing? How about the all the hate on Dead Throne for sounding like KSE? Or each and every release after the first. Love a band not a genre.
that one last comma makes me nervous,
Agreed,
Honestly though it's probably a typo. Another song had one too. A misspelling
And again. The depression wears prada.
Straight to the point
this song is amazing. So full of emotion and i LOVE it
This song hits on so many levels
Really can't stress enough how awfully short 2:59 is. Wish it was longer.
Right?!
Exactly what I was thinking !!!
That one section is packed with so much emotion!

TDWP LEADING THE PACK YET AGAIN
It's possible to dislike new things on the basis of what it is and not just because its new. Its not my jam.
I love this band, been listening to them since I was in 7th grade
Thats cowbell from the drums hits me very hard
New record is a game changer! Good job.
one of my favorite songs on the album.
Fucking love this track. 'the act' is such an incredible album. Imo so much better then 'transit blues'.

For some reason this song was on repeat during my acid trip, I kept coming back to it
