A Bûche De Noël? Every year when I was growing up, no matter where we were in the world, we had 2 bûches - one to eat and a real one with candles. I continued the Réveillon tradition with my children. Fois Gras! I love the taste despite the controversy! (Another treat that was part of the Réveillon feast, along with oysters, escargot, venison, tourtiere, and roasted fowl). Your tree is perfect! A real tree too - how wonderful! Matt is going to have a magical medieval and modern Christmas! He's a lucky boy! The weather in Menton looks almost summery! Imagine going to the beach at Christmas and then going skating. LOL! Only in the South of France! I live on an Island in the rainforest on the west coast of Canada. There is no snow here either but skating is still a common winter activity. I am Dutch and as a child we always spend our Hollidays in the summer in France ( Ardèche). I even had a French boyfriend for a whyle but it wouldnt last. A French knife is truly one of the best most versatile knives for cooking- you can do everything with this one knife--🍓 using the very tip of the knife to cut something as delicate as a strawberry and cutting harder things like the carrots and sweet potatoes you are cutting for your roast- if you watch your video you are using the middle or above the middle of the knife- that is the part of the knife you would use to cut things like tomatoes or eggplants or cheese -what you want to do for your hard big root vegetables is to come down closer towards the heel of the knife- down closer towards your hand- that part of the knife is thicker stronger and heavier and you have more control because it is more directly under your hand xo ^^)

I always enjoy your videos very much. Merry Christmas! To clean the candle drips easily put them in a bag in the freezer overnight. Then, the pieces can be pushed out with a pin without scratching the metal. Same thing for drips in the tablecloth.

A French knife is truly one of the best most versatile knives for cooking- you can do everything with this one knife--🍓 using the very tip of the knife to cut something as delicate as a strawberry and cutting harder things like the carrots and sweet potatoes you are cutting for your roast- if you watch your video you are using the middle or above the middle of the knife- that is the part of the knife you would use to cut things like tomatoes or eggplants or cheese -what you want to do for your hard big root vegetables is to come down closer towards the heel of the knife- down closer towards your hand- that part of the knife is thicker stronger and heavier and you have more control because it is more directly under your hand xo ^^)

To clean the candle drips easily put them in a bag in the freezer overnight. Then, the pieces can be pushed out with a pin without scratching the metal. Same thing for drips in the tablecloth.
