I hate this boss. Such a stupid place to fight it. I have no problem except every time it does those faith missles, it uses scarlett rot to kill me while I'm busy dogding effing missles
@theketchupman8044 with same technique as shown my friend. I didn't get the hardtear because i already had it. This video was recorded on NG+ so since i already had the tear in my 1st run... i didnt get another one :) Hope i answered ur question
The putrid Avatar in Caelid by the minor erdtree catacombs is a huge pushover. I was level 61 and killed him super fast with my bloodflame uchigatana. So why is the other putrid Avatar to the north so strong?? Im level 66 now and he still 1 to 2 shots me super easy and his defense is wild. I stopped using my spirit ashes because they literally get one shot or obliterated by his scarlet rot jump attack. I hate this one because of the environment. Always getting stuck on pots or hitting a pot which makes the camera spin like crazy which gets me killed. I have like 35 vigor(40 if i use godricks great rune) and he still deletes my health bar. I also killed Radahn fairly easy, so idk why this specific Avatar is so over tuned. Seems pretty lame that Radahn doesn't hit nearly as hard as an optional reskin field boss.
There is no need to go down first. Just stand on the cliff and Rock Sling, it can be targeted. If it goes under the ledge, wait until it moves back a bit.

Ride torrent, use pulley crossbow with flame bolts. Fight him in range by keeping your distance ALWAYS

It’s because enemies in the dragonbarrow have endgame scaling so they will feel manageable when you’re around lvl 125-150

If your a melee type, just get Flamestrike AOW and spam the ash. he goes down pretty quick. roll into the ROT and stay on his rear quarter. simple.
