Nice video, thank you. I did for my robot here and I'm facing problems. All readings in BMS are ok, but robot is running for like 2mins and turning off. I changed half of cells because my old BMS and 2 cells were gone. I bought a new BMS, but it don't have the third wire (I'm suspecting this is a thermostat). Do you know more about it? I don't know if the new cells that I bought are bad or I'm doing something wrong.
Off the top of my head, yeah I think the third wire was a temperature wire. The 2 minutes thing is a bit suspicious, you don't think it could be a a bit too much load of a motor and the CPU shutting it down.
Hm question. If you have an older vacum using good old Nimh batterys with a charging station. Wil you be able to change to lithium(18650/21700) batterys with no problems? I see in your video you have a circuit board that im guessing in some way is designed for lithium batterys. But how would a pack of these batterys survive on an 14.4Volt standard nimh charger?
Unfortunately not, you would need to replace with exactly the same type of cell chemistry unless you replace the various charging circuits and power supplies
@@backofficeshow I was a bit puzzled at first due to the different format :-) But I think it's maybe a good way to get a video out quickly. I'm assuming here that it's easier, what do I know? lol! Every step was well indicated visually. It's all there so I think it's worth continuing with that style perhaps at least occasionally. :-)
@@backofficeshow You could call them Quick Hacks or "Tdl Kwk Hcks" or something! :-) Good for when you only have a spare few minutes to watch a video but you want something informative :-)
I didn't buy them for the capacity, I bought them to see if the gadget worked, they were so cheap I was under no illusion that they would be their stated capacity :) Unless they have beat Elon Musk to discovering an amazing chemistry?
Wow. That's actually really clever using solder braid as bond wire. Thumbs up Andrew!
You know me, I use what I have lying around - i am too impatient for the nickel strip to arrive!
thank sharing.
Why didn't you connect your orignal cells together to create a 4s2p configuration? to have a larger capacity?

Nice job :)
Great video!!! What quality brand of lithium batteries are recommended for this rebuild?
The best you can afford 😂
@@backofficeshow is there a ranking of the top quality manufacturers for these batteries? Purchase at battery hookup or Amazon ?
I'm not sure, but I would be looking for the big brands like Panasonic or LG
I think you should build your own spot welder for this!
Id love to make one of those, they look so cool
Soldering 18650 is absolutely crazy idea. 😮

A good use for desolder braid! Nice quick capsule build :-)
I'm toying with doing more but not sure it's really me

@@electronraygun6346 yeah, for simple stuff that I still consider useful to others for sure. No explanation necessary really

What would happen if I used a 3000mah 18650 battery. The one in my vaccum states 2600mah only.
It would run for longer
@@backofficeshow thanks. I was scared that it might blow up or something
As long as the voltage is the same it should be fine
4000 mah its fake battery !! crazy to use this battery !
Literally has "Fire" in the name.
Great video :)
Many Thanks!
honestly those ultrafire cells are absolute garbage
With those nasty cells you will probably need to recharge it every 10 min
I'm getting about 40 minutes before it goes back to bed. Now I know it works in more willing to invest in something more quality of I do it again.
Yayyy demolition simulator music from Roblox!
Ultrafire? You’ve been duped. They aren’t anywhere near the stated capacity.

Clive Flint dude you got burned by the content creator lol. You thought you were dropping your random tid bit of knowledge on him haha
BBB really? Burned? Ultrafire are renowned for being ultra bad.
backofficeshow lol, if only.
Clive Flint he ❤️ my comment in agreement. Stop having such a critical spirit
