If your child is interested in identifying more items on the page, pause between the pages to nurture looking and language skills. Just by reading words that begin with the same letter, children can begin to make connections between letter shapes and letter sounds! For older children, see if they can come up with their own words that also start with a specific letter sound. Identifying words with the same beginning sound is an important step on their reading journey!
