okay i am completely inept at modding, and while this does paint a clearer picture do i extract the mod into the mod file i created within paradox> CK3? i didnt have a mod folder in it before.

so i was having an issue running elder kings 2 right so i did this now it is showing up in the launcher finally buuuuttttt it says the path in this mods descriptor is invalid or does not exist 😭 wtf man i just want to play the awesome mods of this game but i cant get it work for shit can u please help if you see this?
Something is wrong with your descriptor.mod file. Did you put it in the documents/paradox/ck3/mods folder? It needs to be taken out of the downloaded folder, then add the path line. I can always help you quicker if you send me a pm on Discord. I can also rebuild and send a descriptor file for you through discord. I'll get you up and running for sure!
@@this-nerd ty for the reply bro but i gave up and decided to buy the game again on steam i think the issue is game pass puts the path through one drive and that's what was causing the issue, because i made sure to put the path as it was but it just did not want to work at all.

Cool. I love GOT. What is Crusader King 3 on? I play World of Warcraft on the computer and Kingdom of Kelflings, but haven’t played any in awhile, because getting ready to move.
CK3 is on most consoles and PC. This mod tutorial is for PC 😁 i haven't played WoW in a while, I've been busy with Diablo 4 though 🤣

hey bro, i have a problem, once i tried to open the dowser it says : We were unable to parse the launcher settings file. Settings/distPlatform be equal to one of allowed values. Make sure you have the valid configuration and try again.

Heyy man, do you know how to change the version of the ck3 in paradox? I don´t have it on steam, and the AGOT mod that i´ve installed its not compatible with the 1.9.0.2 (lance). Or maybe the mod have a version of itself that works with the 1.9.0.2 (Lance) verison of the game, but i just can't find it.
On my Discord I have a database of mods. They are all the latest version, I try to keep it updated regularly. It will be in the channel Files and Mods > CK3 Mod Database
Hey! I got an error while trying this, right at the end - When I pressed "play" an error appears, it says exit code null, and that this error may be solved by verifying the integrity of the game files or to install Visual C++ and .NET framework and I already did. Also I tried to start the game from the launcher with no mods and did not worked either. Any possible solutions? please. Thank you for the tutorial mate.
omg it worked but my game crashed when i zoomed out and pressed the religions filter T-T (any tips?)
What version of AGOT are you using? I see a bug related to the religions filter. I can get you a later version if you need.
It isnt working for me, I did every step, added [path="mod\CommunityFlavorPack"] (no brackets) and it wont show up in the launcher, not sure what it is
I fixed it by using Upload mod and changing the directory, to the created mod, I have absolutely no clue why it isnt detecting it in the first place

Xbox Gamepass doesn't allow you to revert back versions. It sucks.
hey @ThisNerd. i'm really struggling out here. Can you help me? i downloaded the mod, version is the same as the game version. But when i Open dowser.exe an error pops up saying "Steam runtime communication error" and gives me two choices, to 'ignore' or 'Exit'. i ignore and enable the mod. then i run the game but the game runs as the base game. Can you please help me? i'm struggling with this.

it crashes everytime i launch the game. It keeps loading with the AGOT images in the loading screen but after like 2-3 minutes the game crashes in the loading screen. is there a way to fix it?
Is your mod version matched to the game version? If so, try a clean install of the game.

What version of AGOT are you playing? This was a noted effect of older versions like 1.0. Also, have you checked the error log? I know there is an ongoing issue with something regarding NPC's trying to do something diplomatic. 🤣

I finally got the mod to load, including the "Travelling to Westeros" bit. full working music, menu, etc.. However, whenever I load up a character when starting a new game, my game crashes. Anyone have any insight?

I'm glad you got it! Looks like you need to do a reinstall of the game though. This happens a lot. There is some sort of corruption in the installation though.

The newest version doesn't have that AGOT.mod in Extracted folder in the folder mod
Where did you download the mod from? There should at least be a descriptor.mod file, or else it won't work.

Your file path sounds like it is not correct. Are you putting the mods in documents/paradox/ck3/mod? Have you taken the descriptor.mod file out of the downloaded folder and put it into that same path, documents/paradox/ck3/mod?

for the past 2 days i have tried literally everything i can and this mod just will not work
edit: after uninstalling the game and deleting all of my ck3 files including saves, reinstalling the game and also starting the game with only the agot mod enabled and nothing else it finally works (and now i dont even feel like palying the game anymore 😩)
I completely feel you! I'm glad you got it to work though. But you are right this game is so difficult and by the time you get it to work, you don't want to play it. I've reinstalled this game over 30 times, it gets bad with updates also. Hopefully in a few days or so you will get the energy back to play it, because AGOT is a great experience. 😁

It will be in your CK3 root folder. If you don't have it then you need to go to the Launcher folder wherever your CK3 installed location is.

You need to do a tutorial video for steam community mods and standard CK3 mod site.(cuz the mods in there are not support current(1.12 scythe) version.)
Comparing the nexus and steam community mods, there is a lot of difference in terms of the number of modes. So making a video that "how to download a mod from steam community manually" would highly appreciated.
I don't have any problems downloading mods from Nexus and integrating them into the game. But since the mods I want are all in the steam community, I want to download them manually from there, but the method I did on Nexus doesn't work here. (My game is the Cracked version.)
The Steam community also uploads their mods to the official mod page of CK3, but since the version is not compatible, I can't get efficiency from there no matter what I do.
Any ideas?

@this-nerd I figured it out!! User error. I had my mod folder as "mods" and not "mod", so the path was going to a folder that doesn't exist. xD

Every time i install the mod it works but if i close the game and came back it crashes and dont work unless i reinstall the mod again
Could it be your OneDrive? If you are syncing documents the mod folder will write to OneDrive and not work. You can turn the sync toggle off in OneDrive Sync settings.

I don't think we will see a House of the Dragon mod, since we have AGOT. But you can add a few mods to AGOT make it interesting, like Dragons of Valyria and Armies of Westeros.

Your path needs to say exactly path="mod/AGOT" (or whatever your AGOT folder is called)
This path as you say I save to the notepad but when I execute the mod it change

@@user-em6hm7fk8f the path should auto change. You can deactivate sync in OneDrive. I've seen OneDrive break the mods folder before.

Gamepass has always been tricky. Let me see if I can find another workaround for it.

Hi! great video but I've got a diffrent problem, the file "launcher-installer-windows.msi" is missing and the when I try to open the dowser.exe nothing happens. Do you know the solution to that? (My game is cracked)
You'll have to get the crack from somewhere that has the cracked launcher included. I suggest FitGirl, then use the download launcher option in the installer.

Sounds like there is still some path issue. Make sure the mods folder isn't syncing to OneDrive. You can deactivate that in OneDrive > Sync > Documents, turn off the toggle

@@mrbonux2958 when it's launching vanilla the game cannot access your mod. Double check your file path is correct in the descriptor, it should be path="mod/{your mod file}"
Make sure the versions match
And make sure your OneDrive is not syncing that mod folder.

@@this-nerd The mod version says its 12.1* and my game is 12.1.2 scythe or something like that but i cant have other versions because its cracked also i think it should work on that version anyways we can discuss on discord if that's going to be any easier

I hate to tell you this but reinstall CK3 and it should work. I've ran into the crashing issue so many times and the only fix is to reinstall.

Yeah most mods are still at 1.8.2. It's going to take a while to get updates for mods with all the added stuff in the game.

@@ninjacat8659 This is a problem a lot of people are having. Make sure your decriptor.mod file is in the documents/paradox/ck3/mod folder. Open that .mod file with notepad and add the line path="mod/[the name of the Asia Expansion folder]"

@@ninjacat8659 Nice! I'm glad you got it! The nexus mod manager is easy but it doesn't work for a lot of under rated games. If you end up coming across a mod that launches vanilla in the future and the paradox manager doesn't work you can try the method I gave you. 😁
I've followed this but no matter what version of the mod I download it tells me it doesn't match my version of the game. My version is 1.12.1 (Scythe). The closest I've gotten to getting it to work was by manually changing the version in the mod file when I added the path but it crashes on the screen with the girl in the boat. I've downloaded 4 or 5 versions from Nexus mods but none of them match.
You'll have to update to 1.12.3. Go to cs.rin.ru and search Crusader Kings 3, there is an updater from 1.12.3. Or if you join my Discord I have the file there also.

It sounds like the version of EK2 is not the right one. I also have a video using EK2 😁

Great clip I downloaded King's court for my CK3 and since then CK3 keeps crashing ( console) Any idea on how to fix it w/o uninstalling king's court?
I'll be honest I suck with console, but I'll take a shot. Are the versions matching, like the mod is built for the version you are using? I know for PC the descriptor.mod file is an issue, maybe it's the same for console. With that you have to take the descriptor.mod file from the Kings Court folder and place it in the .../CK3/mod folder. I have no idea what that is for console. Another fault is the descriptor.mod file needs to be opened in Notepad and add the line "path=mod/[King'sCourt folder name]" Those are my first guesses, if nothing works you can join my Discord in the description and I will help you a lot quicker there. I'll try my hardest to get it figured out for you though! 😁

You may not have dowser on Gamepass. You will need to move the mods folder from OneDrive to local and it should work. Just open one drive and exclude the mods folder from backing up to OneDrive.

For some reason, even though I did everything the exact same way, the game still launches as the vanilla version. I am going mad
There is something missing. The file path is not reading right. Are you adding "path=mods/AGOT" exactly? It has to be exactly like that, sometimes it will change to C:/Documents/Paradox/mods, if it did change it back. If you go to my Discord in the description, upload your .mod file and I can edit it for you 😁
@@this-nerd Thanks for the answer, the problem was that my user folder name conteined a foreign letter, I moved my documents folder to a diffrent drive and it fixed the problem

How would you do this for the fallen eagle mod?
It would be the same process. Just move your files to documents/paradox/ck3/mods take out your descriptor.mod from the downloaded folder and put it in the same mods folder. Then open the descriptor.mod file and add path="mods/[name of mod folder]" Let me know if you still can't figure it out! 😁
