I dont 3d print so Im going off of context, but the brims here are no doubt the little horizontal edges that the creator peels off the bottom of the component pieces of the build. I dont know what purpose they serve, maybe they make it easier to detach from the sheet, but they seem like they could be fiddlier than the creator makes them look to take off, so perhaps they are best avoided for that reason unless you have no problem with taking them off.
