Build up and start up of my 93 RX7. I was able to do the whole rebuild myself :) apart from Ethan and Clint helping me for some of the two men jobs... Turns out... No exhaust leak.?
Just started my FD for the first time after a rebuild…. I had similar smoke issues. Turns out the smoke was coming from the cat/exhaust and traveling up through the tunnel and out the engine bay. In my case, it was burning off solvents I used to clean up my cat. Smoke stopped after the solvents burned off.
I'm still trying to work out the kinks to get my rx-7 to run. A slight rebuild by myself but I can't get it to start. On the other hand it wouldn't start before I removed the motor.
micahakasuperman7 I finally got it to crank. I let it run for about 15 minutes the Rpms stayed around 2000. Then the idle begin to go up and down, up and down. I can give it gas, but it's not quite clearing out.
So I'm curious, what is it with everyone who is not a "professional" motor builder, why do you all use the Chevy Orange? lol that's so tacky in a tuner build. Paint it purple, pink, yellow, shit anything, but why chevy orange? Just curious
hi there i just wanted to know were you got your front mount intercooler ? i seen your other video on the turbo from pureturbo in CA going to get them a call. am just getting ready to pull my motor out and doing a rebuild. also at radiator did you go with mazda comp? if you could help thanks

J Moore,
Just make sure you are making compression. From there it's just fuel and Fire.

Great job dude. Where did you get that intake manifold, or is it custom.

Breathing all them fumes must be nice.
I love the Rotary Engine had One in a Datsun 510 that thing kick butt with a bad clutch.
I still can't find if its leaking... I still don't know why it was acting like it was leaking the first start up.? It's doing fine now :)
The intercooler was custom built, there was alot of cutting involved!
Hi mica
Also wanted to know were you got the upper intake?
Good job man, i hope mine goes that good, we will see in a couple of months.
Did you find that leak yet?
I got the throttle body from
rotary-works.com
Thanks man. It's a stock intake that has been ported and polished. :)
Yes I put 500 miles on it staying under 4000 RPM, it's doing great now :)
looks like a 13b-re intake manifold from a cosmo
maybe the gasket needed to seat, i still cant wait to complete my build.
Hope would you know you have an exhaust leak?
Love seeing how excited you get over your car.
Love the hillbilly compression test :)
Car sounds awesome did u do any porting
Makes me want to rebuild my rx7 engine even more!
Your Rx7 sounds nice dude
