the pasta in shell form is called Conchiglie I wouldn't say fresh pasta is better or worse than dry pasta. It's simply a different dish. There is a famous quote of the mayor of bologna "Spaghetti Bolognese doesn't actually exist" and what he means by that is that in North Italy (where bologna is located) people traditionally eat fresh pasta. Spaghetti is a famous form of dry pasta which is common in South Italy. It's not the same thing. It's not like fresh pizza vs. frozen pizza either where frozen pizza is trying to be like fresh pizza and sacrifices quality and taste for an extended shelf-life. In Italy dry pasta is used for different dishes than fresh pasta. All of these dishes are fantastic if made correctly.
I think they make pasta rollers to roll the dough through and make the shells/shapes en masse. They can make those for raviolis, too, but they often actually make those by hand because the rollers can push the filling out.

Making your own pasta is one of the best things to do with your time, it's also way better tasting, even friends who come over to eat from work too say so. Perfect when socializing, only do it with 2-3 friends we chat and do things with our hands at same time. Needs 2-3 people to do, very sharp timings too :)
its not better tasting it just has a different use. Some pasta dishes you need dry for that al dente texture, fresh pasta is always soft. I personally prefer the dexture of al dente like in a spaghetti or carbonara.
If it takes you an hour to make a batch of noodles, man, you're doing it wrong! It's like 3 ingredients to knead, 5-10 min of resting time if you're being a purist, 5 minutes more to roll and cut it, and then in the pot of boiling water. Fresh pasta cooks in ~3-4 min and you're done. Even if you're making your sauce from scratch and working at "home cook" pace, the whole process should be done in 30 minutes. Yeah, ok, I do love me some pasta and that slander stung!! =D
love showtimes buildings, look at how much that gate wall defended, look at how much those 6 static did, that was like 40+ supply it warded off... maan ive been screaming about this forever only the last couple off months? max; ive seen Protoss players start to evolve and use their walls and buildings on a new step. still need to understand those offensive batteries but well, 10 years more i guess ^^
