I have used thin green nylon fibers as grass. You can use small woolen thread pieces as grass. Else, cut green plastic straw into tiny pieces and use as grass.
Big trees are made by me and the small trees are bought out item. ruclips.net/video/2XOfpHI_n9A/видео.html ruclips.net/video/3OZjZnfq9fU/видео.html In the first video I've made a tree with woolen thread. In the second video, I've made a tree canopy using sponge. Prepare wires as shown in the first video. For foliage, use a thick/strong yellow colour sponge. You will not get good results if you use a soft sponge. Tear the sponge into tiny pieces. Add green colour and mix it thoroughly and let it dry for 24 hours. When the sponge is completely dry add some "mud podge" on the sponge and mix it thoroughly. Mud podge will be white when wet and will become clear after drying. After drying the sponge with mud podge completely, you can use it on the wires to make the tree model as shown in the first video. You will need a strong clear glue spray. Important points: Sponge should be completely dry, else it will not stick to the wires. Sponge particles should be very very tiny for good results. Hope this helps.
