  • I had some amethyst with a bunch of rust stains. They came with a collection that was given to me. Everything was kept outside, most in metal buckets. I'm trying Iron Out Rust Remover to see if it will work. Will it? Check out the video.

Thx, just forgot to mention the baking soda to neutralize it. Running it under water for a bit should do the same 🤘😎🤘

Wow Ric! Those came out fantastic! I love iron out for my rocks! But those amethyst points are gorgeous! Such vibrant color and the iron out did its job well! It would have been better if it didn't get watered down the first time! That was a downpour and a half! The only part you didn't mention in your video was about the baking soda can be used tp neutralize the acid and then its safe to pour down the drain. It will also be handy for accidents like splashing, spilling or accidents of any kind. Baking soda and water can be used to neutralize the acid and it can help if its burning your skin. You can also just keep running it under water and it will eventually dilute it enough, to render it safe. But baking soda is fast and easy and will neutralize the acid instantly. Safety first! That amethyst is really beautiful Ric! Now what are you going to do with it?

Ah crap, I forgot about the baking soda, it’s been a while lol. What am I doing with this stuff? My favourites will probably go on a shelf. I have a lot of amethyst right now. Points and chunks. Hopefully I will make some jewelry out of some. When we do our rock trade, I will throw in a few surprises 😉

@@largent45 I think the parcel I got from a subscriber in Washington was about $80. I think the weight was 14 pounds. But that was a few years ago also. Might be best to ask your post office

It is black because you used a plastic bin with the iron out. That happened to me, but i think it was the plastic. Im trying glass next time.
