I love when people give me rocks!! Lately, when I get one of these awesome gifts, I will make something for them and surprise them. This time, I was asked to make something, but I went a bit farther.

THOUSANDS OF CORE SAMPLES!!!
Просмотров 297Месяц назад
We went to an abandoned mine, north of Sault Ste. Marie, ON. We found tons of racks of core samples. If you have any ideas on what I can make with these, leave your comments and maybe I will bring some home next time.

I Made An Agate Bolo Tie
Просмотров 181Месяц назад
Agate is my birthstone, plus I just joined a second band which happens to be a country band. Since I only had one bolo tie to my name, I thought I would test my beginner skills and make myself one from Lake Superior Agate.

Rockhounding Lake Superior. Water is low!
Hi, thanks for the video. I’ve got a slightly different HP model, but similar set up with two bearings and wheels left and right side with polishing disk at end. I want to replace the old carborundum wheels as wheel. Am I right thinking that you have to pull the whole shaft out and remove everything from the left side to get to them? Or did you do it from the right side by taking off the polishing wheel ? Were the bearings easy to slide the shaft thru? Any tips would be appreciated. I’d like to see a quick video update on your refurbishment too. Thanks again.
Congrats!!
Thank you so much for being a part of this journey!!
Congrats! 🎉 I cannot believe that it’s been four years already. Great video of the look back to when it all started. Here’s to 4 more adventure packed, rock/ gem collecting, “oh wow” years!! Hopefully I will get up your way this coming summer ( no forest fires or surgery to hold me back ). Keep well and hugs to you and Penny.
Hey great to hear from you Michelle!! It's been a long time! Hopefully you can make it up here, that would be awesome. I still have those little rocks put aside lol
The first 4 years were great so I can't wait to see what you do in the next 4 years.
Me to!! lol Thanks so much for being a part of it!!
That was an awesome video Rick . North shore of Superior rocks . Keep up the great work . 😎
Thanks so much Kevin!!
Nice agate , good job on the cut and polish , looks great , thanks
Beautiful piece. 🦋
Thank you! Cheers!
You know, I belong to the Sudbury Rock and Lapidary Society, and they have big chunks of it there like it's really common. I bet that's where they got it from. It's so pretty!
Hi Lee, this good to know. It's su h a beautiful rock. Can't wait to make stuff!! Lol
Lots of fossil rocks, and alot of impact melted rock from Sudbury crater. Alot of that material is in North and South Carolina from that event. Carolina bays.
Thank you for the information.
👍
Looks like the green quarzite was put there when they built the road. Gorgeous greens 💚
I think so too!
6:35, found a white agate in basalt last Friday. Best agate I've seen so far. Had no idea they had agate nodules.
Very cool, that's how we find most agates here. Usually in basalt
Im going to western UP in MI off Lake Superior for the first time this January - are you closer to MI or MN?
Near Michigan border
Nice finds
Got to love the North shore!
Very nice!!
Im dorry sir but looks nothing like a gate 🧐
It's a Lake Superior agate sir. :)
Alot of hard work and alot of money
I can see an artist converting all those colors into a wall sized mosaic !
All I can say is wow. I don't know what you could do with them but if I think of something I'll be back. 😮 HEY maybe take a spray bottle with you next time 🙂
Great idea! Thx!!
Long time fan here. We watch all your videos. Would you be willing to share the GPS location? I understand if not.
It's about 1 hour north of Sault Ste. Marie. Are you in the area?
That was very cool , I'd spend all day there and probably come back for more so not to miss one sample lol , was that close to the Soo ?
About an hour away
Definitely makes it easy! I have been looking for a similar guide for my drill so I can do large core bit cuts for making stone rings! 🤘⚒️🪨 nice video.
Glad it was helpful!
Definitely replace the bearings
Not a fan of the ads. Just sayin'. \

Wow, that came out great man! Looks just like the ones I made 30 plus years ago. Good choice with the silver. I still have a few boxes of those in the attic. Good job!
Thanks 👍 You have a few boxes of bolo ties? I'll take them if you don't want them!
Nice work! ❤
