Good afternoon, Tomorrow I will cancel the catalyst like you did, Thank you very much for the video, I will tell you how it went. Greetings from Mexico...
Hey! I recently bought the monster SP and was thinking of using this same MIVV decat with the termi exhaust that comes with the bike. Why is it that this mod doesn't need an ECU flash? Thanks! Great video
I think its because he retained the stock mufflers which provide enough back pressure9or restriction to flow) to keep the Air charge/exhaust through the engine at a correct flow rate. Too fast and the a/f will go through into the exhaust creating a lean condition in the cylinder(it will flow into the exhaust and create that backfire in the exhaust on certain load conditions or decel).
Thats just what I read in all the forums and online - no need for a tune. I will tune it later on, since my buddy got a tuner anyway. I'm not too familiar with the Mivv working with the SP Termis.
The oxygen sensor is located on the front pipe (coming from the actual engine). Therefore you can remove the cat and still don’t need mapping of the ecu.
@@christopherguzik8727 struggling with everyone’s response regarding the need to remap or not. Intrigued by your response and wondering if there is additional information that you can share regarding remapping relative to your original post. The Termignoni full exhaust and up-map is ridiculously expensive. The most cost effective solution appears to be the Shift-Tech option at around $1300, which includes the ECU flash. Just hate to spend more than I need…especially if the ECU doesn’t require remapping. Thanks in advance.
In the exhaust you should torqued the nuts to ducati’s spec because the metal dilates and you risk braking a screw. Try the forums because there’s a lot of threats about this. This sound is much better, although I still love the oem. In Europe we have to be very careful with this kind of modification because of vehicle periodic inspections.
Thank you so much for posting this. Exactly what I was looking for. Want to do my anniversary model just like you did. Curious. What spools did you use on your bike.
Any noticeable slop in throttle response (since EFI map wasn’t changed to accommodate more flow)? And does the bike run any cooler with the cat removed? Sounds nice. Thanks for sharing!
Hi, I you replaced the mid pipe on your Ducati 937 with a MIVV part. I'm curious, does this require any new tuning for the bike, or can you simply swap out the old component with the new one without additional adjustments? Thanks for your insights! Max
ha! you have no idea - you should hear my friends making fun of me. I love a L Twin feel, pull and sound. Plus Ducati is the Ferrari of motorcycles = THE BEST :)
good evening friend. nice video. the change you make in the engine, do you make any other change in any parameter? does it create any problem in the behavior of the engine
Question, do you think that non-motorcyclists will find it annoyingly loud? A lot of modern Ducati's the sound baffling is mostly in the cat. Very little in the mufflers. I so wanted to do this to my Ducati 1200 Enduro, but on that model the muffler barely does anything except look like a muffler. I only wanted it gone because of the heat it generates, and the additional weight. I think this is a great modification to do. Looking at making a 950SP as my next Ducati and super interested in this mod. Thanks, for posting this easy-to-follow video. Ride safe, and very likely be heard now.... LOL
@Ducati NYC Vlog not necessarily, the AIS will still dump air into the exhaust to increase air and thus popping. On some bikes, you can tune out AIS too or just pull the fuse for it.
I cannot get the hex screw out at 6:18 of your video. I got the other side out. But my brake lever is so in the way i can’t get the hex key in to unscrew it and i don’t want to strip it.
Hi I have ducati monster sp with termi slipons I was interested to do the same upgrade but I was not sure if im gonna need to flush ecu or anything like that . I was just wondering because to switch the pipe doesn’t look hard I think I can do that but If I would need anything to deal with computer of the bike I probably need a professional to deal with it
Well, you can do the physical work yourself and only get a pro to do the ECU flash. I'm running it with no tune at the moment but probably not for long
Finally! The only upgrade that had to be done! 😍
Ha! Pretty much :)

Yes yes yes, so nice when you are a in a calm mood and can just tinker about.
wow! I actually love stock exhaust shape and texture. but it's too quiet. this video definitely help me out.

Yes sir. Getting there.

You are most welcome and I hope the repair goes well today! :) Enjoy the beastly sound
Now it’s starting to sound like a real monster
Slowly but surely.
Oh that sound difference.. music to the ears!
Will be even sweeter with a proper pipe :)
Always nice when aftermarket stuff lines up straight out of the box! And that huge metal udder you removed must weigh a good 10 lbs.
About 7lb, yea - and agreed - another great thing about working on new bikes.
It’s almost 12lbs!
Love it, not insanely loud but just enough :))
Its actually pretty loud. Video doesnt do it justice. But its a weird loud. Exhaust def needed
Thank you, I just finished the decat pipe installation for my Monster 937 today thanks to your video :D
You are very very welcome
I’m thinking about getting this. How do you like it so far?
That is so loud! LOL! I can't wait to hear with an actual exhaust. Thanks for sharing this bro!
Naaaaah, its not too too loud - just right :)
Thank you man. Mission accomplished with your help. Regards from Mexico.
Oooh I love to hear it - glad I can help!
Good job man. The monster sounds much better.
Soo much better

It does seem to run a touch cooler - did not notice any slop at all
Thanks for the video, will be doing mine next week. Can't wait.
Oh, it’s such a game changer

Great video! Did you consider any other decat pipes before deciding on the mivv? e.g. Arrow or even an eBay knockoff?
Nope, I'm a MIVV guy, have Mivv's on my other bike too.
I really like the how to vids.

Good question - I don't think its SO SO loud its obnoxious - but time will tell I guess. Lets see how much louder it gets w a proper pipe too.
Good job you made it look easy , 👍

Hey DUC NYC
When bikes go for their annual inspections are emissions measured?
Thanks
Not in NYC
Hey mate, one year later did you ever get it remapped/tuned?
I have not lol. But I'm still considering it.
The best 🦾🦾
As good as it gets!
Does the Duc have an AIS system? That'd be the next thing I'd go after.
Probably, but the popping will go away after I put on a proper pipe
