Ultra Budget Gaming PC Under $300 In 2023

- Today we have a amazing budget pc that not only looks so much better then the ugly Dell Optiplex that it used to be but it preforms phenomenally. We case swapped this as well as added some extra cpu cooling, better Ram, and a MUCH better Graphics card as well as a new Power Supply to make sure our new GPU had enough POWERRRRRR!

@@ThePcRehab That power supply has no protections it will kill the whole computer when it decides to fail. It’s tier F power on power supply tier list they recommend to replace it immediately for a reason. On Some these thermal take smart power supplies have capacitors rated for 2000hrs of use so to put that perspective that is 3 months of a computer just being left on and then it can die.

A guy in my town sells Optiplexes from $30 and they include some RAM. Not sure I want to rehab one though

I have ddr3 1600mhz, and i7 6700 core 4 , 3.4ghz, rtx 3060, and my cpu and ram pull my pc so hard down. I doubt this will go well.
Yeah if you play at 1080P the 6700 will bottleneck the 3060 by around 32%.
Could you ever upgrade the cpu in the future
You would need a new motherboard/cpu combo to upgrade the system later

Most boards come with the standard power supply plug if not they make adapters that convert them.

You can do it with any dell as long as as it is not the slim kinds that use so-dimm ram

So a regular ATX PSU will fit those Optiplexes without an adapter? I thought Dell had a proprietary connection for the PSU?
They have a proprietary power switch for the board. But the mobo power from the psu is still 24pin

That 1660ti is not bad, but at 6Gb VRAM is underpowered compared to a GTX 1070 for the same price.
Still, not a bad match for that old CPU.

Be careful if you do this. Dell is notorious for using proprietary parts and form factors. Meaning the power supplies and motherboards can’t be just swapped in any case and you could just be buying some e-waste. Do some research on the model you’re getting.
CPU on its last legs lightly bottlenecking the gpu. Constantly peaking max CPU utilization. Still really cool to see what you can squeeze out of the old king. If it wasn't for the dell board and likely non-k CPU, these old CPUs OC'd well and could have held up even better with a quick and easy tune.
the cpu bottleneck the gpu at 1080p all high and it at 55% utilization is not good should be getting over 165 fps

I think for ultra budget, getting a new PC case is non-sense. Either keep the old optiplex open box at all times or snatch a second hand case for USD 10 locally.

Must be nice to live in a place where companies dumped a bunch of those into the wild.
In my country, companies still use them, and they have no intention of upgrading anytime soon in the next 20 years.

Ok bud so your COMPLETELY wrong about performing as well as a PS5 or a SX!! The ONLY way you could get the performance of this gen consoles would be to get AT LEAST 2070 super!! More than likely a 2070ti or a 2080 due to the fact that the CPU in that thing is either 2nd gen or maybe 4th gen i7. But hey good info but a BIT misleading!!
While I see your point I disagree, I have a ps5 and this computer felt more responsive and had a much smoother gameplay then my ps5. Now it does not take away the fact that a PS5 is a good console but for a price difference of more then $200 plus the added benefit of it being a actual computer and not just a gaming machine I’d take my $300 pc over the console any day. And better is all up to the individual anyway. So what is better for you may not be better for me. Hope you enjoyed the video though man :) glad I could provide some level of entertainment

The only thing I have a disagreement with is the "perform as well as the current consoles" I agree a PC has a lot more freedom my current rig is a 7600x/4080..lol but that 1660ti cannot hold 60fps@4k! Across 90% of the games it can play! But I respect your build 100% those were my intro builds in PC building..
@@ThePcRehab I said 90% because there are a few games at the PS5 can't hold 4K at 60 but the majority of the games it does..even some at 120fps..and even a single game @8k/60fps.
