Always good to see a new video from you fella, pity about that STK but you may have had a lucky escape, as the ones that are new on ebay are usually fake and poor quality - they work, but they go pop a short time later. I think I'd rather have a second-hand one - assuming it works. I liked your workaround, looks to me like you could probably replace the entire thing with a series of buck converters which would be more efficient and more reliable anyway. Those old late 80s JVC VCRs were rock-solid (used to swear by the Ferguson variants that were a rebadged of the same thing) so the machine is certainly worthy of s but of TLC.
