This woman is absolutely first-rate. She's articulate, intelligent and to the point. Most importantly, she is never boring! That's a lovely tree. I live in southern Utah but was born in Maine. I want to do pastels of both states: the lakes, oceans and pines of Maine and the beautiful sandstones and canyons of southwestern Utah. Both regions are incredibly beautiful.
Such a wonderful start to a fir tree forest! Good explanation and demonstrated technique! Thank you Kate, this is a good advertisement for your online school too! I look forward to watching your next RUclips video.
Christmas card time! I love this, but it's interesting that Jekaterina uses three techniques I've been taught to avoid: smudging, blowing, and painting flat. But what a nice result!
Kate, You are an awesome teacher. Thank you so much! I have been using your videos on Skillshare and that is how I found you. Your demonstrations are excellent. I will be watching ALL of your content, as it is so helpful for me! I also looked you up on Patreon, but it looks like you may be moved to your own "My Pastel School?" Which is the best way to get to see all of your tutorials?
thank you! usually, when your work is in a sketchbook it does not smudge but before framing I would go over some parts of it just to add that glow to it in case it did loose a bit of pigment.
I believe this is actually a fir tree, rather than a pine. Pines have long branches with long needles. Firs tend to be thicker, shorter branches, with shorter needles.
j'adore. Merci !!!
I love this video!!! Thank you
Loved this demo, thank you.
Спасибо большое! Очень полезный урок!
I love these so much! Thank you Kate.

Welcome
Excellent step by step. And beautiful trees! Does the pastel smudge when it is in a sketchbook tablet?

Sorry, wich type of Arteza sketchbook do you use, please? thanks in advance! Chiara

Have anywhere for a total beginner with soft pastels to start?
start with the simple things, I drew a ton of apples in the beginning :)
Don't know if just me, but I couldn't hear your commentary. It was a nice demonstration to watch tho.
Beautiful! However, mine turned out like total shit LOL! Maybe not for absolute beginners 🤣
give it another try :D I am sure it will come out a lot better!
Wow
