    Really great lesson. I think it was 15 years ago or so when the manufacturers were promoting low spin drivers and telling people to tee the ball up and swing up on the driver. I think that helped a lot of people. The low spin drivers were bad, but it got people to create a better launch so at least the launch was good.

      Low spin drivers today are mostly used by the pros, not many golfers can use them. But hitting up on the ball will benefit all drivers. 👍

    Oh man. Your instruction is so good. I've been practicing the feels and I'm getting the athleticism back in my swing. Just the intention of swinging the arms faster and earlier added 15-20+ yards to my irons! I hit a few over the green that were perfect shots and I could only laugh for the pure joy of hitting it so solid and for the insanity of trying to use a body driven swing that is very hard on the body and I have better than average flexibility. Yes you can hit accurate shots but you should not get back pain after a round of golf.Also I'm a lot more upright at the top of the swing and at the finish the club shaft is sometimes hitting my back on the follow through. Looks like your finish! Sometimes I hook the ball when I do an improper release. But I recognize how it happened and how to correct it. The idea of practicing the finish position depending on the shot you want to hit is also so different from what I believed to be true .Keep the videos coming please.

    Marcus, would love to see a video on your opinion about club fitting. Most amateurs, including myself, buy clubs off the rack and adjust our swing accordingly. I’m not totally sold on club fitting because I think they want to sell clubs

      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  11 месяцев назад +1

      I'm a club fitters nightmare. I don't follow the normal recommendations to solve my students needs. My opinion will not help the average golfer and therefore I will not make videos about it. I will talk about swing mechanics.

    Can u talk about when to open the chest since u r releasing the club earlier from top in downswing? Thanks.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  3 месяца назад

      I have never thought about the chest. It follows the movement of my arms and that is what's important. My chest will never hit a golf ball. 😊

    Marcus would you teach that a player should straighten their lead arm, (RH player), when making the transition to get the club down and turning?

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  Месяц назад

      I don’t think that we need that arm to be perfectly straight but we need it to be relaxed. 👍

    Controlling the palm of the trail hand never seemed that important but i see it’s another tool to create a ball flight I want and that’s with both irons and driver
    Another light bulb went off…man its getting brighter in my skull area

    One question: Do you aim past the ball when on the iron shot for impact position? Your ball position looks farther back also. On the driver you said aim before the ball a few. Just want to be clear on the irons.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  Год назад +1

      I aim through the ball in all shots but I wanna find the low point before impact with my driver. With an iron shot we still want to be descending through impact.

    irons are more like up and down but do you still think of circle

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  10 месяцев назад

      Hi. For me there is always a circle but we hit the ball in different parts of the circle and produce different attack angles. 👍

    Hi Marcus as I increase the push and release speed the left side pull shows up again. Is there a swing thought or drill I can use to speed up the right hand without pulling with the left? Keep these vids coming I’m really learning a lot.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  Год назад

      Try to feel when and how the trail hand overtakes the lead hand. If we control that we stop pulling and pushing at the same time. Start slow and increase speed when the feeling gets more clear.

    Good one Marcus! Surprisingly I end up in the tall thick grass rather than the fairway more often than i like.
    What should we think about when hitting from there?
    I tend to stick the club and lose all sorts of yards...

    I tried this today. With the thought of pushing down with my irons. It worked amazingly well for pure shots for my Sand to 8 iron. But when I started on my 7 iron all of a sudden I started shanking all of my shots!! I could not hit a normal iron after that. But woods were fine. I don't know exactly what happened, but front video showed my club face open like crazy.
    Any ideas of what happened or how to fix this?

    • @EternalBreton82
      @EternalBreton82 Год назад +1

      I don't know. Looking at the video again I couldn't bot really see if the face was open or not. It feels like with this change I got more handsy and trying too hard. Couldn't really feel a difference in the Swing though. Maybe I turned more than usual in the backswing.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  Год назад +1

      Hi. If your club face was open like crazy, you did NOT push. Pushing with the trail hand and arm will close the club face not open it. If it worked with short and long clubs you are doing it correctly with them. Try to bring that into your 7 iron.
      Remember that it's a push not a wrist roll that will give you straight, good shots.

    Is a low lofted driver need to get the proper launch conditions hitting so far up on the ball?

    Marcus, thanks for the videos. Now the Driver early release needs more clarifications from you. You say early release, and you hit the turf some two feet before the ball, in the practice swing, but your actual swing shows that your rear hand elbow lever is released just before the ball ! why the elbow is not straightened two feet before the ball, like in your practice swing? pls clarify. We are missing some very important point here. thanks.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  Год назад

      There is no missing point. If you listen to what I say I always release earlier in my practice swing than in my swing when I hit the ball. In my practice swing and in my mind the low point is a good 3 feet behind the ball but it's probably one foot from the ball when I hit the ball.
      That's why it looks different.

    From the camera angle, you appear to have your feet slightly facing to your right while you place the ball back more in your stance. I know you say you place the ball slightly back of middle, but was interested in your feet alignment. It makes sense since you emphasize swinging the hand and arms in and out and your foot placement would seem to encourage that? Let me know.

    • @GolfwithMarcusEdblad
      @GolfwithMarcusEdblad  Год назад +3

      Hi. I try to feel square or slightly open in my stance to give my trail side free room to work forward. A little like a fighting stance in martial arts.
      My low point is far back and it comes from all training I have done to try to hit with maximum attack angle. My rotation is delayed to accommodate that.
