And the one side of the game that could thrive which is the collectors side they are squeezing that side too. Yu-gi-oh deserves to fail at this point.

Great video like always. My thoughts on the tins sadly is they will continue this model sadly. They know the tins have been selling badly for years, even with QCSR's so they disregarded the reason we get tins(reprints) as the big seller, and people will need these cards for at least another year, making this product sell. The last few years I have seen many locals and vendors be stuck with tins, selling them from as low as 8 to 12. QCSR is killing high rarity, they already killed ots with it, and people collecting\wanting all high rarity are leaving the game\giving up in droves.
What a surprise, a sought after, must play handtrap is printed as a secret rare… Konami TCG has been doing this for literal years. It’s absolutely disgusting & gatekeeps players from the game; which is a shame. I understand Konami is a business & they want to push product, but this practice of rarity bumping sought after cards is just a greedy & malicious practice. My opinion is the only way Konami is gonna change is if we vote with our wallets and abstain from buying product that embellishes these poor practices
Look at a YCS stream 99% of those players ARE NOT GETTING ANY ASS.... MEANING. Yuigioh IS their girlfriend and relationship, so money WILL BE SPENT. Unfortunately if you have a female in your life.... Regardless of what hobby you have they WILL hate it because it doesn't involve them 😂 so most yugioh players DON'T have shit else to do but game and be a geek.
The anime/Tv was how most people got exposure to this game. Now thats finished, theres no major inflow of new players into the game, its all the 25+ year old males who played back in the day. Konami is trying to squeeze this customerbase because they do have the money for a P2W model and because kids/teens aren’t really playing this anyway. So konami is actively trying to squeeze profit from its customers, likely since they know this cash cow is not going to be the same with the new generations who won’t know yugi or kaiba unless someone shows them
Honestly I think because those players don't have a relationship they just play yugioh From experience whenever I played yugioh or ANY hobby for that matter females HATED IT!! whenever I see a stream it's your typical overweight player. Unfortunately they have a certain "look" and yugioh Unfortunately is a PART of their life!! I'll tell you this much if I leave my current girlfriend I'm going to stay single and game my life away so I'll be a sucker supporting konami. I even bought the full engraver set and I don't even play completive no more 😂
In the newest european Tcg Update regarding mats and sleeves they explicitly excluded non artwork spellground mats which was such a big relief to many pros
Snake-Eyes Mimighoul is really nasty. The goal of it isn't necessarily to go into I:P and then Princess. The goal is to go into Princess and Borrelguard so you can immediately flip the Archfiend or Slime you gave to your opponent off of Mimighoul Maker meaning that between your turn and theirs your potentially hand ripping them for 2 and drawing 2 or special summoning 2 additional monsters off of Slime. If you can bait out some hand traps before hand ripping them for 1 or 2 cards you can put them on about 0 cards and its a lot easier for Mimighoul to do because of the addition of cards like Slime and the 2 new xyz monsters. Alternatively if you play a more pure variant of Mimighoul Mimighoul Maker can be used to special summon Archfiend or Slime to your opponents field and your opponent chooses Slime you can special summon Archfiend to immediately trigger Slime, go into Throne for Master, Master add Slime, if you've searched Maker with Dragon you'll have the cards for Giant Hand already, Giant Hand add field spell, field spell add Archfiend, and from there have your setup for 1-2 hand rip and draws and 1-2 special summons from deck. Either way look at Snake-Eyes or not the new additions make Mimighoul nasty as heck.

Bought a single tin off the store shelf (Target), pulled both an Imsety and S:P Little Knight. For those needing specific cards from the tins, or any other product, definitely buy the singles.
The tins were worth it for me. 6 tins, $90 no tax: 2 BEWDs (mapped in two tins from same vendor with the exact same QCRs), 1 DMG, a thrust all already sold... and I got the quem, sanctifire, yama, yubel, and lulu I wanted for my decks (I needed copies of them in general, don't particularly care that they are prismatics and QCRs)
i'm not the brokest person in the world, but i absolutely cannot afford to build a competitve deck. even the reprints of good cards are expensive. it's an inaccessible game now for all intents and purposes.
The problem with the commons in the megatins weren't that there were so many of them there's only 100. It was the fact that those cards were already printed as commons in previous sets. They should have just gave us 3 or 4 supers per pack instead. Also Rarity Collection 2 and Bonanza has shown that Konami is willing to listen (at the cost of raising prices) Rarity collection 2 gave us more cards per pack, and more "value" per pack, but the cost per box was too high. So they brought us Bonanza, where they added "value" again, by giving us 1 QCR or Platinum in each back. Lowering the card count back to 5 but increasing the "normal" 5 card pack price. That said, these sets aren't for the community these sets are for vendors. I've seen a lot more vendors in my area carry singles from the tins. Even those that normally don't carry yugioh product. They only thing they complain about is the Ultra/Common bulk, but some cores do sell well.
@@MadaraUchiha-wf4iv Yep. So for example for the 2025 mega tin if they do another 400 card pool the break down could be maybe 4 packs per tin with each pack containing 8 or 9 ultras, 3 prismatics, and I guess 2 qcrs.

I just wish they would stich the border of their playmats like Imperium duelist does their mats. Because over time, their mat just starts peeling off the rubber bottom.
Eh. If I can't get my hands on Maxx C lite I'm fine with just continuing to run decks that are fine with their draw engine just being Morganite. All you really need to deal with your opponent having hand traps is to just run a few of them with some Crossout Designators or play your Ash before your Morganite if going second. That's a kind of slept on strategy and its only going to get better when Red Nova releases.
Granted, besides all of this i hope Nightmare Apprentice and Shining Sarcophagus are reprinted in the QCR Bonanza in that rarity, so i can afford them.
i bought 3 megatins and i totally regret it, none of what i was looking for came in my tins, had to buy everything separately and it cost less than what i paid for my tins
I have to ask you two genuine questions because i really want to know for those still willing to buy sealed product. Did you expect anything different knowing how these TCG products have been made so far? Wouldn't have buying Singles make more sense to buy?
I love Mega tins solely cause upgrade to light stage but that could have just been added to when trickstar support was released. Outside of that? Some reprints was needed

Easy solution that would take 2 seconds. Show judges at the registration table the mat you plan on using. If they say yes, stamp, the players hand. If they say no, tell them no. Solves the degeneracy problem
That's gonna take way more time than it's worth, and you're still going to have people taking even *more* time to argue if their mat should be allowed or not.
I agree if it’s a not safe for work playmat no don’t bring it to any event but if it’s my custom earth machine playmat I’m playing it rather Konami likes it or not unless they make one for me witch they wont
@TeamDreamhunter it really wouldn't take that long. The registration people have final say. Have your playmat/a sleeve ready to show at the registration table on the day of/have a way for early registration to be approved at that time as well. They say yes or no. End of story.
@Swanjeff1 I wouldn't think they'd have a problem because it just a bunch of yugioh monsters, unless their some weird lolli custom artwork of ancient gear golem lol

I bought a tin for the tin, cards were all trashy. Not buying another one. Still can’t afford SP without trying to save for it and investing over a month of my yugioh money into a single card. Only thing the tin did for me was briefly drop the price of trident low enough for me to finally get one, and they’re already going back up in price.

Master Duel will probably make them URs, which I get. The difference is the value of URs in that game is a lot more evenly distributed than TCG. There in no $100 UR in Master Duel. 30 dust across the board for any UR in the game. If it gets banned, you get the full value back. If you try that in TCG, you get to play the stock market. It's an antiquated, predatory system that we don't need anymore.

watching this and reading the reddit, the ideas that people are comin up with to lower the prices are 1 for 1 what pokemon does, its kinda funny since i just got into it, after coming to terms with the fact that Yugi is too expensive for me
My locals is crazy big. We have a huge community and a couple dragon duelists and others kids that play other games at the store. We have a few "traptrix/striker" duelists you mentioned and I don't want those kids exposed to that. When I used to judge for that store there was a player I had to ban for a EXPLICIT titty mat. Bro pulled it out against a 10 yr old. Lmfao people just don't get it. I will say I don't like the rule for big events but judges have discretion to ban for that anyway and as they should. Ig it's just a time issue for big events
I think they just need too keep the QCR system about how they have it maybe but just replace it with a different rarity. Not QCR. Just do starlights or ultimate rares or idk what. Well looks like i will be buying ocg copies of Fuwaross to play with for now. And before someone says " you cant use them in TCG tournaments" i only play with friends. I dont play at big regional/ycs events. I play at a small local card shop with a bunch of friends and so long as you provide the proper effect of the card we dont care. So long as its just a couple cards. Not the whole deck. Aint nobody got time to translate their whole deck with Neuron/Google. This game is getting too fn expensive to play. I will just stick with playing rogue strategies that don't cost an arm, leg, kidney, my first born child (if i ever have kids), and require me to take a second mortgage on my house (that i don't have anyway bc this economy says "F the working class") just to play a top tier deck I guess i have gotten lucky so far in my tins. I bought 2 a few days ago and pulled the QCSR DMG in one and the alt art DMG in another. I bought a case for group of friends to give them one tin a piece. With 3 tins left out of the case i opened them and pulled another QCSR DMG.
We all know the current state of the card game is not good, but hear me out. Why we are not talking about how konami, instead of doing more scam banlists and power creep, since it's already focusing on create more and more archtypes lore, why don't they invest in ACTUAL video games that merge well with the cards? Think about it, there's so much possibilities for games using the lores that, not only would be an excellent way of making new content and expand the stories, but would open an entire new makert for them to explore, and not only to the card game players and anime fans. The Diabellstar have a vibe of devil may cry and bayonetta games, image you using her in a hack'n slash style defeating monster and seeking revenge against Diabelze and a way to remove the curse? A Persona or Chrono Trigger style RPG for Fallen of Albaz with free world exploration and party creation? A Final Fantasy style World Legacy Game, speciallu since we are getting new support for Orcust. A Fighting Game for the Elemental Heroes There's so much possibilities that I can't even think straight. But of course, this is just a silly dream. Thank you for your attention.
I went to a card shop for the first time and they were telling me yu gi oh sales in my area are at an all time low. Apparently One piece is taking over.
The ban list that we got was not a good one. It was Meh all I did was really give a small slap on the wrist to snake eyes. And then in the next set, they’re gonna get even more support and be right back to tier 0 Flameberge needed to be banned it wasn’t going to be we know komoney always limits cards like that before they ban them but that’s one example Oh also Tenpai with D Rulers is nuts I have said it before I will say it again. Because of their poor design. Tempest is the only one that can come back above one. Blaster can’t Tidal would give water decks to much
They absolutely need to stop making this staple cards in secret rare & short printing them. It’s honestly coming out extremely scummy, i understand a card like engraver but the maxx c hand trap type cards both being maxx c is ridiculous.
Why not just go back to making starlight’s again ? I don’t see why we keep dragging out QCR & I thought the set in November was supposed to be the last set of QCR
If I’m being honest? The game kind of died when you could have a full board and instant unlimited access to your deck, extra deck, and graveyard in one turn. The game was better before the excess of Link, Pendulum, XYZ, and Synchro Summons. The game used to be a lot more calculated and more drawn out. It took in between 8-15 turns minimum to end a duel. Now it takes just 1-3 in a lot of cases.
That was already the rule. It was still enough of a problem, with enough people trying to argue about what counts as "inappropriate", that they just went "nope, fuck it, you get nothing now".

@tarquintus though you are right it would lower product sales for Konami. It would also amount of needed singles in circulation, making your $100 secrets more expensive. It could work, but imo it is not super reliable due to the higher price, which would eventually make people think it is just better to buy a product defeating the purpose.
Genuine respect for not buying the tins. It absolutely infuriates me how people complain about how Konami keeps pumping out garbage like dueling mirrors and then turn around and buy multiple cases of them. This is the only way to make our demands heard.

@@anakinsmith4770 No, the tin is not fine. The pull ratio's suck, they added bad cards to the pool that no one wants and already have good options. Those added cards don't even have a meaningful purpose to the theme of the tin and are just bloating the card pool. Even if you wanted to pull the cards that you may not consider broken, it's still really hard.

Look at what Pokemon TCG has done. They are more popular than ever, provide the most competitive decks on their online TCG app for free. The collectors market is insane and they did it without squeezing their fan base. The modern Yugioh game is completely unattractive to old players. And the one side of the game that could thrive which is the collectors side they are squeezing that side too. Yu-gi-oh deserves to fail at this point.
The problem with this example is that most the Pokemon consumer base doesn't actually play the game.
Either they're adults collecting expensive cardboard, or they're children on the playground collecting shiny cardboard.

Bout to be to the 27th anniversary rare
What a surprise, a sought after, must play handtrap is printed as a secret rare…
Konami TCG has been doing this for literal years.

So konami is actively trying to squeeze profit from its customers, likely since they know this cash cow is not going to be the same with the new generations who won’t know yugi or kaiba unless someone shows them
Yeah, so true. Without those of us in that range fading think they will continue or let it die at a point.
Honestly I think because those players don't have a relationship they just play yugioh
From experience whenever I played yugioh or ANY hobby for that matter females HATED IT!!
whenever I see a stream it's your typical overweight player. Unfortunately they have a certain "look" and yugioh Unfortunately is a PART of their life!!

6 tins, $90 no tax:
2 BEWDs (mapped in two tins from same vendor with the exact same QCRs), 1 DMG, a thrust all already sold... and I got the quem, sanctifire, yama, yubel, and lulu I wanted for my decks (I needed copies of them in general, don't particularly care that they are prismatics and QCRs)
i'm not the brokest person in the world, but i absolutely cannot afford to build a competitve deck. even the reprints of good cards are expensive. it's an inaccessible game now for all intents and purposes.
Honestly for the mega tins I think they should just make it an all foil reprint set.
Think you are right, would make it more appealing some of those commons feel less throw away as updated rarities.
@@MadaraUchiha-wf4iv Yep. So for example for the 2025 mega tin if they do another 400 card pool the break down could be maybe 4 packs per tin with each pack containing 8 or 9 ultras, 3 prismatics, and I guess 2 qcrs.

I mean, they can do this at registration too... It's not like they aren't already there.

Ig it's just a time issue for big events
I think they just need too keep the QCR system about how they have it maybe but just replace it with a different rarity. Not QCR. Just do starlights or ultimate rares or idk what. Just stop putting the 25th anniversary logo on everything because its over. Its done. It just makes things look cheap after a certain point.

I guess i have gotten lucky so far in my tins. I bought 2 a few days ago and pulled the QCSR DMG in one and the alt art DMG in another. I bought a case for group of friends to give them one tin a piece. With 3 tins left out of the case i opened them and pulled another QCSR DMG.

The Diabellstar have a vibe of devil may cry and bayonetta games, image you using her in a hack'n slash style defeating monster and seeking revenge against Diabelze and a way to remove the curse?

Why not just go back to making starlight’s again ? I don’t see why we keep dragging out QCR & I thought the set in November was supposed to be the last set of QCR

If I’m being honest? The game kind of died when you could have a full board and instant unlimited access to your deck, extra deck, and graveyard in one turn. The game was better before the excess of Link, Pendulum, XYZ, and Synchro Summons. The game used to be a lot more calculated and more drawn out. It took in between 8-15 turns minimum to end a duel.
