  • The Pattern:
Hook: Partridge of Redditch Ideal Jig (Size 16)
    Bead: Copper Tungsten 3.4mm
Thread: Semperfli Nano Silk Black (18/0)
Tag: Glo-brite Floss No.3 (Slim bunch)
Body: Semperfli Quill Subs Black Peacock
    Hackle: Natural CDC
    Collar: Black UV Ice Dub
A slight variation on a classic and proven fish taker. The slim smooth profile will help this fly to sink quickly and get down to the fish early in a drift. A good point fly for any tight line nymphing rig. A great fly for both Trout and Grayling

Great little fly. Trout in Kenya love them 😊

Very nice! What type of clamp do you use Robbie? I was thinking recently of tying some flies using the Marc petitjean tool thingy but I know that's far too expensive for me as I would not use it too much. I was thinking that theres bound to be much less expensive alternative.
Do you know of any and where to get them as I fancy having a play around with it for dubbing and experimenting with some rabbit fur streamers.

Thanks Allan. The clamp I have is one of the Swiss CDC clamps, the larger one I think. Fair warning they are not cheap, but very well made and I think one of, if not the best on the market.
Stanfo do a plastic clip and there are CDC clips on eBay. But to be fair you could use a bull dog clip is you find one with flat blades.
