I really like it. So far I reached loop 6 as solo. Abd honestly it better to play solo. Cause it will be up to you which room you choose. In co-op everyone decides, which im not a fan of
Solo is way easier for the nemesis than in coop, we are regularly doing raid/legendary content, countdown heroic etc, and oh by the nemesis are way too powerful in group of 3-4 it instantly kill Solo is okay
I just jumped back into Div 2 and this mode is my new favorite! What an addictive game play loop. I'm definitely going to play this till my permanents are maxed! : ) awesome video man! I'm late but I'm here now lol
A few tips; - Avoid the sticky bomb, at least for now. It seems to be bugger and nearly got me killed several times. What can happen is you go to fire it and the it will not actually let you detonate it or take cover. Swapping weapons will alleviate this but you still can't trigger the bomb. It's not 100% but why take the risk. 2 - Save up for the 4th talent unlock first, trust me this absolutely should be the first priority because I have run into cases where after 3 talent rerolls I got nothing helpful 3 - Speaking of which, never do more than 2 rerolls. Each successive reroll costs more, in fact I would suggest just using the skip option if nothing goog comes up after a single reroll those credits are valuable. 4 - The Bullet King Exotic talent is by far the best. It's ludicrously broken especially on shotguns. Also Sandman is largely junk, but it will actually one-shot enemies with shields if you melee their shield (very helpful when being rushed) 5 - Last one is again about shotguns - they are the best thing to buy special ammo for especially Hollow Point Bullets. I bought some for my 870 on one run and the game have like 120 rounds - which is just crazy on a shotgun.
@@hamishblair7504 Oh I hadn't even considered that, maybe that's why I had so many HP Rounds. I just remember seeing 120+ with the 870 and thinking "I am become Death, destroyer of worlds"
I doesn't work will all special ammo types, it works with High velocity, I forgot which one I doesn't work with. Instead it only gave me 90rounds of the Special ammo
I like the chatter box talent better than bullet hell. It gives you wild rate of fire and dps, and also refills half your mag every kill so you get a bullet king like effect
I've tried a couple hours and it's funny as hell. It forces you to play totally different as you do in the main game. I really don't understand why are so many people complaining about Descent. I mean... Months and almost years asking for new content/game modes, we get a new game mode FREE FOR EVERYONE that is a completely new experience, then people are still complaining. I just don't get it. Maybe they're too much costumed to the main gameplay and they can't get over with this lol.
I do like this mode, but my problem is aggressive time consuming and unstable server make it bad. It's took to long to play even when we familiar with this mode. Game itself already have lot and lot and lot of unstable connection problem and delta. This kill party play real fast.
@@ROPUTO Yup, it's really bad on PC. I'm glad they you can enjoy this mode without worry about Delta in Xbox. 6/10 run will be 1-2 players DC, either me or other. It's that bad.
Make sure you pick the best choices for Nemesis above all, and once you have something solid, go for him. Entrench and composure for example are two talents that will have a very high uptime and can be used in both scenarios.
All well and good doing it on hard all the way through, apart from other players leaving or getting killed off because of the beginning crappy weapons. And if you go easy route what keep everyone happy you get one shot by the Nemesis bomber drone. The mode is out of scale to the players on console anyway, but hey what you expect, we didn't get a test server did we.
I just wish descent was not another gamemode where skill builds were so punished. If you bring any sort of good skill build, the nenemis will destroy you. If its a skill with burn damage... then insta kill.
Ive played it for about 6 hours so far and my advice is to hit the nsa table to the right of the entrance and put all your points in to armor on kill. Next is to hope you get a rifle or m60 in your weapon choices. No surprise that m1a is king here. Things like booster hive and demolisher are great. I got really lucky at one point got an attack drone but the firefly is just as good. My number one suggestion though is, do not sleep on sandman. It was by far the most helpful exotic talent. Take your time to look around too , sometimes the game doesn't always make it obvious when theres a kit box or buy table available. Its not like the main campaign. Think outside the box. Talents that usually get skipped are really good here. Think trauma and entrenched. Personally i wouldn't worry about crit chance, but most importantly, be happy if you get the emp sticky or jammer pulse. They might not matter at first but once the black tusk arrive you'll be glad you picked them. Dont waste credits on extra skill or weapon choices as they don't allow you to swap on the fly but rather just give you an additional option at the buy station between loops after you beat a hvt, you still only get to carry 2 weapons and 2 skills. Stack armor and armor on kill as med kits are too precious. The aim assist is turned off in descent so weapon handling has a much greater impact, especially on pistols which are what you should rely on until the 4th loop. Lastly, dont pick rooms based on difficulty. Go by what cores they offer as reward. If you need more utility, go by whichever room offers yellow cores same for whatever else. (Also , talents that you might not usually consider to be in a certain category will actually show up there, meaning sandman and braced are yellow takents because they are seen as utility by the game but firerate is red. It's a little bit of an adjustment at first to predict what will have a chance of being an option for reward but its easy to pick up). Dont worry if you die, just learn from it and keep pushing. Gg
The problem is unless you can 100 percent kill the nemesis every time it’s pointless to play descent. But the nemesis kills you in four bullets, while you can run out of ammo without missing and dude still has half his armor
@TECHNO-GAMER-Kun uh... you can play countdown, gets tons of dropped items, can buy whatever crate you want, get multiple named items dropped at your feet... all in 15 minutes. This is hours of work... for nothing dropped. A couple crates.
Well this update was a big disaster/disappointment, and the mode is fun for about 3 runs , the rewards are horrific, time invested is a joke and until there is some loot only obtainable in this mode i wont play it , no reason to cause its not fun, and love how you can load right into another game when you die
I would recommend to EVERYONE to get the "Easy Breathing" Brass Knuckle exotic talent from Lady Death if you see it. I probably used the wrong name, but the sheer scaling of damage that you get from that is amazing. You can literally cover to cover run or just walk around a bit and boom, 75% damage bonus for your next magazine (much MUCH more buffs for single fire weapons like Shotguns and Marksman rifles). It's hands down the best talent in there and pairs with any build idea I've thought of so far. Also forgot to mention that since you're always running to the next room, you always start a battle with a full damage boost already charged up 👌🏾👌🏾
It’s really hard and unfair. They should at least let you start from where you died. After 1:30hr have to start from the beginning again and again sucks and make it annoying because we sometimes play with random people
As a new player I am really enjoying this mode but I can understand how veterans could be disappointed by it. As a new player it’s great because you get to encounter a lot of mechanics that you wouldn’t see early on in the Story.
Agree on using weapons / skills that suit this mode I finished it for first time and one skill that helped me a lot (a lot !) Was the shrapnel trap. Throw it in front of the door they spawn and you can just focus on another door . I do hate that you cant save your progress after loops. It's too long. Not everyone has 2-3 hour sit downs. I finished it after 7th loop and couldn't continue playing as I didn't have time. Sucks to lose that progress
Traps are absolutely busted in room clearing in this mode. Biggest challenge is covering your back and the traps will absolutely lock down 1 (or even 2) doors.
Mode drags on so long... Checkpoints would be great. Each loop completion should be a cp... Also wish the project was clearing loops not defeating nemesis.
Conserve ammo early loops with alot of pistols (and trauma) to spend more credits at later loop. Only bring out primaries if you need burst damage or close quarter combat.
My best tip: All Reds ahead. Someome in a discord I'm in is against skill builds in this mode because of how small rooms and are easily getting surrounded. I dont agree. But having red cores up until nemesis do help. The best skills in this mode are probablt Turret & Decoy primarilt because theh serve the same purpose which is keeping enemies off you. Blue cores feel useless. The M1A, Super 90, M870 & 357 are extremely powerful here due to enemies lower health pools. Hard rooms give you more time to get your build togerher before nemesis however after nemesis its not worth it. The difficulty ramps up high and fast. You'll eventually get enough credits to buy all the run upgrades and shop purchases are cheap. Explosive rounds are pretry strong after the Ammo nerf. Shops uses to always have all ammo and they all gave 120 rounds. Now you get 2 random types of Ammo. Hallow point rounds are exacrlt why they sound like from ongoing directive but you only get 60. Explosive rounds dont give extra damage but you get bleed + 100 Rounds. I also put Fire or Shock rounds on my side arm in later runs. Hallow point on heavy hitting slow firing weapons explosive on other weapons.
a lot of people are also missing the fact that you can choose between weapon or skill after you complete a floor, you dont always have to just choose a weapon
expected complains. players got comfortable with our cheese builds. seen lots of complaining from legit ones to IDIOTIC one like "where is my equipment this mode sucks". these casuals doesnt even know what rougelike/lites are. LOL.
That's what I said when they announced them , and people got all mad , and. I said this update is really bad as well , it's a complete waste of time . Only thing good was the mp5 and shock ar . Even the man hunt not man hunt is horrible
@Imon Yourside no it's not , it's for times you have nothing better to do , like if your not grinding lvls , or gear , or season lvls , then it's fine just for messing around .
I am going to love descent as a "separate" game from the normal game play of division 2. I am only struggling on Nemesis. But I will keep on trying. 2 points should be taken additionally. 1 point was missing as you have the chance to add weapon damage, amor or skill after some rooms. And the 2nd point is maybe a thing to consider. In a 4 people group the adjustment of NPCs are to heavy in my experience. But your 5 points are very good for new or struggling agents. Thanks mate
Buy shock ammo for one of your weapons, shot the Nemesis once, switch weapons, shoot him again when the effect passes, rinse and repeat. Shock ammo is the ultimate cheese strategy
The math I ran on the weapons pointed to a few stand outs. ran the math on all grey starting weapons so it won’t take into account DMG to Armor/HP/TooC etc. MP7, M60, P416 & SASG-12 have crazy stats when looking @ total DMG per mag & burst The MP7 has been balanced around not having a mag upgrade in open world & I &) the SMGs & the MP7 has the second highest burst under the V 9mm SBR and the second highest sustain/DMG per mag under the PP-19 M60 has a ridiculous ammount of sustain & decent burst, while MP7 has the inverse. Using the talents Allegro (Max +70% RPM), Extra & Lucky Shot (+100% Mag size, +100% Mag size) not only improves the efficacy of already strong base stats but also improves how much ammo you can take into each loop. Will update soon with more but tired now. Long ass runs.
I got wrecked first 2 floors, ammo is hard to keep unless you are using pistol to offset and picking perks wasn't hard, but I didn't know I could skip them or reroll. this should help me out a lot on my next run. plus, just because you normally play on hardcore mode doesn't mean you should pick every hard door that comes up.
Been loving descent and that’s the best advice I been choosing only hard rooms to be better prepared for nemesis and definitely use my sidearm often to save on ammo
I'm just getting to know Descent. But I definitely like it, I almost forgot that I should take cover from time to time, save ammo, and things like that..... ;)
Takes too long, is boring, and theres no way to fucking leave it unless you join someone else and go to leave squad. There seems to be a lot shit wrong and breaking more and more in this game.
Descent is a fun mode but not made for long lasting playability IMO. You're basically starting from scratch with random weapons/skills and you play smarter. I mean, if this is the case, I would honestly play 'Hardcore Mode!' 😒
What loop did you get to? I had a 45 minute Nemesis run and got 7 SHD Levels, and 7 caches including an Exotic cache. I think rewards depend more on how far you get rather than time investment
Agreed, what’s even crazier with the difficulty is that level 30 players who aren’t even anywhere through the end game and don’t know all mechanics can jump onto this since we all start at the same place
I've tried Descent twice so far, both times with a match-made team. The first time we made it about halfway to the Nemesis. The second time we made it about 3/4 of the way to the Nemesis. Both times we just got in bad spots and wiped. Based on the two tries, I like the mode. It's actually a lot of fun, and I have to say, the Bullet Hell talent with a shotgun is FUN! The only downside is that the mode takes a while, so it's a more significant investment of time than something like Countdown.
Oh man then i have bad news for you as when you finally reach nemesis get ready to be spammed with drones, shock traps, flame turrets and seeker mines that will wipe all of you in seconds
@@michaels1719 After several more attempts I still haven't made it to the Nemesis. The mode feels a bit overturned to me. For the first few rounds it's easy, but then you hit a kind of difficulty spike that has wiped us every time.
Its another option for how you spend your game time, which is good, and it's free, also good. Does it have long term re-playability once the novelty factor wears off ?. I'm not sure it does. I will play this mode occasionally but for me the focus will still be the main game.
I don't see this game mode lasting long. I think people will lose interest fairly quickly. After you make it far a couple times, why play this game mode. Not a viable XP farm, loot per hour is way worse than countdown, I don't understand why they made this mode, and didn't just give us a few new actual story missions, and new locations.
The XP is actually pretty solid, I got 22 levels for a 2 hour run. The mode has a weekly project where new comms will drop, and there are tiered leaderboard rewards that grant exclusive cosmetics.
Idk why people complaining people ask for more PVE content and bam now the community complaining bc it’s not what the wanted. I have yet to play mode properly will play after I’m done with everything but there is no exp transfer to main character so it’s pointless to play.
I don't think it's because it's not what people wanted. Here are my personal theories/reasons as to why I think people hate/don't like Descent. 1. Very boring because the layouts are always the same like summit. 2. The difficulty to them is a bit extreme. I can see why a lot of people don't want to spend their time feeling like their upgrades don't mean anything when even in solo the difficulty is BS levels of challenging. 3. It's suffering from balancing issues with guns and talents, most of the items aren't worth using just like the main game depsite trying to be worthwhile. So it didn't fix any meta issues. 4. Finally I think that the reason a lot of players are pissed is because there is a lot of potential here for something great, but the execution to them from what I've seen, and myself have somewhat experienced is very lacking. If some scaling is changed and more variety is used in the mode. It can become something great, but for now. It's a disappointment to a lot of people. TL:DR: people don't like/hate Descent because it's a great concept with a lackluster execution.
Don't forget that later on rogue agents spawn in. We were 2 man and had 3 rogues come at loop 19. We didn't know this was possible and caught us completely off guard and we wiped.
For me, descent's Core is conditional probability. Your objective is to build to kill the nemesis. Everything else is chaff. That means you have to start from the endpoint and decide what you need and how many loops to ensure success. 5? 6? 7? Odds are you won't be able to do more than 7. To do 7 you must complete 6 loops before reaching 99%. That is doable if the first loop is done all on HARD. Here is the problem: the extra weapon choice costs 2000, and the extra skill choice is 1500. If you choose to not purchase these, you will face 6*3 = 18 weapon choices, and 6*3 = 18 skill choices. More choices is more valuable for weapons at higher loops. So, when I start I avoid a weapon and choose a skill IF it is one I want for the nemesis encounter. Damage skills will need to replaced 1 loop before the encounter. You are guaranteed 1 exotic talent. Once I have that, I can then decide whether to buy the extra weapon choice, or the extra skill choice - or to cancel game and restart. The changes in October dilute the pool of choices, making a desirable build even less probable. This also makes my method more desirable and the idea of cancelling and restarting more probable. Frankly, I cannot believe cancelling was what developers intended, because if you have to restart say 10 times in a row, why would you want to persist since odds are then 1 in 70 that you succeed.
The thing I like about talent selection is being able to stack talents and get crazy bonuses. I do think they should remove or fix the Blind Justice exotic talent, old Liberty talent for those that don't know, because it's technically not in the game anymore and even when I proc the talent it almost never works
It seems that Ubi is running out of ideas for the Division 2. They need to put their resources into Division Heartland vs random modes for Division 2......Part of the fun of the game is using all of the cool items that you spent a lot of time leveling up and all of the cool tech that you have. Why do I want to play this.... :(
Idk if others had slipped ther mind but I didn't know at first you could stack talents wasn't paying close attention. Alot of people just aren't playing this mode .
Unfortunately, I will not be playing it until they get it fixed. Mallory and I were in a three man group for 2 and a half hours and it bugged out at the nemesis and we lost our opportunity to complete it.
When we reached the room and hit the button to enter, I got the cutscene of the room assembling and everything. Then it was just myself and Sgt in the room, but Mallory couldn't enter. We waited for a while to see if it was just lag, but she never got the cutscene. Mallory left group and got the cutscene, but then couldn't rejoin us, leaving us all stuck in the room with a "waiting for other players" prompt up top. There was nothing happening and nothing to interact with, so after about 10 mins, we all just quit out.
@@EnragedPostman In the PTS version /invite username and /join username worked ..haven't tried that in this version yet. So just to update this. Encountered this glitch, those commands still work but player was sent to main lobby as a fresh character and didn't get in to room to advance game. Had to quit but didn't lose NSA tech.
I played it with my brother and we went through five loops and after the fifth one i just left it because i found it boring. That took me 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Try and use your pistol as much as possible. Hard i know, even for me, but since ammo drops are disabled and you have to conserve ammo, which can be hard since npcs can be unpredictable and shots rain out trying to get any hits on them, ammo conservation is important, ive had a lot of moments where I simply ran out with my main ammo reserves and had to resort to grenades, skills and pistol. But for stuff like a grenadier throwing a nade, an npc standing next to a propane tank, or your last few targets, thsts a great opportunity for your pistol to shine. Also something to consider, the larger your area and if no snipers are around or dead, the better you can engage with your pistol. Pistols are meant as a last resort defense to their core, and have trouble engaging crowds. Use it in situations where you know your target is isolated from their group. Also, regardless whether you're stocked on ammo, grenades, and armor, open the boxes anyway. I figured out earlier, I think ill come back and take this out if im wrong, that if you buy a slot/capacity, you can reopen the boxes and become full again
I find the ammo economy enforced in the early loops to be kinda stupid, and only to justify things like wasting your credits on buying to max/increasing cap/mag. It's like they wanted to justify bullet hail as a talent. everyone I talk to thinks running out of bullets is kinda lame. particularly when you get random weapons, and relative differences in the weapon are exacerbated with restricted ammo. I get it's like a 'survival' experience, but you can't pick up rounds from what you kill either, so I don't think it's a good justification and it doesn't resonate with me. just IMO. eventually it ends up totally irrelevant with the right builds, so to me that just seems more like an engineered annoyance to work around rather than a compelling choice for the mode. and even more so as you progress outside the mode and blunt the impact of the early game PITA. Just seems like a pointless addition to me that is fundamentally unfun.
@GrumpyOldMan I find it fun actually. It's meant as a training sim to help teach you what to do in combat, or how to work with limited resources. I find hardcore very hard, and have been through 10 agents at least never going over lvl 15. And if decsent is what I need to help me hone my skills as a player, then so be it. And people say "you get nothing from this but caches" samething with survival, maybe an xp reward at the end of your game, but it's gonna be nothing compared to how much xp is needed to level up. I know I get nothing, but the entire point like I said is to train you and give a mode with infinite variables that change with each run, exactly what survival was.
Quite enjoy this mode but when you die why the hell do i have to travel back to washington to then travel back to descent to have another go its just pointless
Thank you Thank you. I've been waiting for someone to do a tips & tricks video on this. Its fun with the crazy builds you can make but the mode takes way too long. They need to find a way to shorten it
Having useful skills is a big help, like a Demo Firely, Jammer Pulse, etc. Having good damage talent built up to beam the dogs w/ an LMG or other gun was my main strategy.
My problems are skill choice and having to settle a lot of the time for a bad pick. I tend to try and prioritize healing a lot, both in the regular game and survival/descent, and surprisingly I I've been gravitating to repair trap. And once I got both skills when but neither were healing, and I of course wanted to change them. I went straight a buy station and bought the extra skill thing, but when I didn't have the option to choose another skill I got confused. Is buying the extra skill worth it and it gives you the chance to change or what? Also talent wise, is steady handed still as useless as ever?
You have access to 3 new skill options every time you complete a loop, you just need to tab over to that category when you're at the selection panel. After your initial pick, you only get to choose one new weapon OR skill, not both. Buying the extra skill options means it rolls 4 new random picks instead of just 3. And for gun/damage setups, Steady Handed is a top pick for me in Descent
Thanks for the advice it help a lot specially for the new descent players or noobs like my self , I have a question after you kill the nemesis or before if for any reason you don’t wana continue playing and go back to dc when you try to go back into the desert again you start we’re you left of or from the beginning like when you die thx , after like 20 try and some clan friends finally I make to the nemesis for first time .
I'm so glad the videos have helped! If you leave Descent at any point, or wipe during a run, you will begin back at the start when you re-enter. There are no checkpoints. As for after the Nemesis, defeating the Nemesis grants you the biggest trove of loot, and while continuing beyond does net you additional rewards, some are satisfied with that more contained experience, and choose to back out after that.
Killing the Nemesis has been the biggest issue. They are just scaled way too high with a full group. We blew through all the ammo just finishing 2. The last two pretty much just walked up and slapped us down.
@@herrvorragend3542 That was the best run out of getting to Nemesis about 10 times. Every other group that has managed to even reach them crumples instantly.
Best advice I can give is to buy all 10 ammo capacity upgrades prior to the Nemesis encounter, purchase explosive rounds before the fight, and try to have 1-2 damaging skills on the team to use a bit less ammo
I want to enjoy this mode because it looks unique compared to Underground or Summit, which is what I thought it was going to be. I only tried it once and died on room 4, one of these days I'll give it another whirl.
Question! I have played and beat the Nemesis a couple of times now, but I haven't seen the caches they talked about from which you get named items blueprints. How do I get those?
@@RogueGold I have been getting simulation caches and I don't think they are those. This is how they phrased it in patch notes and livestream. "Added Named Item blueprints from Seasons 1, 2, 3 and 4 to the Reconstructed caches."
@@RogueGoldThanks for answering. Restarted Soo many times :) - But it turned out I had to donate some parts to a project that had no marker and to get it started. Pure luck I found that out .
If there's a shield available...get it. Shotguns and Rifles are super effective. The Vector is garbage in this mode. The best exotic talents I've used so far are easy breathing (brass knuckles) and Plague of the Outcast, dont foget to stack you talent tiers. They are sizable jumps. Surprisingly, the decoys are also really effective, the enemy runs to them, great for grenades. At NSA vendor, I stacked armor on kill first, then skill haste, helped out ALOT in the early loops
I am struggling to find something I like about descent. I have struggled for several hours today to try and figure out to enjoy the mode. I am not a new player but after 15 - 29 attempts I have yet to get past loop 2. Nemisis is out of touch at this point in time. It’s not fun, period, stop! For the life of me I cannot fathom why this “fun”. It’s much like trying to survive a dark zone. The later is getting easier against npc’s, but little chance against three gankers!😊
So I got a green drop looks really weird says Gearset Q holster it is not a mat or part because I have the option to equip it though it has no stats 0 Armour ect. I have a picture but don't know how to share it on youtube
I feel like they missed a huge oppurtunity for a psuedo Div 1 survival revive. Descent is similar enough already, something as simple as making the nemesis system somehow a pvp thing could've been perfect, especially with the 'extraction' shooter hype that still hasnt died down.
Launched the game for the first time since it came out to play this, we played it for a solid six hours, feel like we experienced most if not all of it and got bored. I was pretty excited for this mode because I'm a huge fan of rogue-like/lite stuff but this game mode is pretty shallow in content and I really wish it had more to offer.
Think the only thing was to match the talents so all the bonuses stack without doing much. Choose complementary exotic talents to the talents your using instead of just picking one because it's supper OP and it negates all your talent bonuses to proc.
Rogue gold thank u I could not even get off zone 1 on lvl 40 xbox keeped crashing changed to lvl 30 got to zone 2 and it was full of invisible ads. Heads up guys
Yes good tip the rifle really knocked em back with special ammo but still the ads hit hard and everything's so random. It's fun but a very dif experience very different
Shotguns are your friend. Don’t take talents that require Crit for the first few runs until you can buy some Crit. Bonus armor is your friend. Skill haste and reload speed are your friend.
I actually quite enjoy this game mode. Made it to loop 15 before I had to go to work. I see a lot complaining about it though. I think peeps are too catered to their shd levels and maxed out gear carrying them. Being brought back to the basics shows who the real players are :)
I'm sure I'm bad but ALSO it's hard to be completely in the zone for an hour plus straight. I'll often be breezing through it and then I make a mistake or I get put in the wrong side of cover or something else and then it's all over...
Tip 1: Max out the "armor on kill" or "health on kill" when your finished with your decent run. Use the NSA credits after each decent run to get it. It will greatly help you in the early game. Tip 2: Striker drone and assualt turrets are a lifesaver. If your playing on a hard difficult level, obvisouly you will be bombared easily. If you happen to be lucky enough getting the striker drone can be a free bait so you can run up on enemies and kill them easily since the enemies will target the striker drone or assault turret.
How are y'all feeling about Descent so far?
I’m loving having some fun
I really like it. So far I reached loop 6 as solo. Abd honestly it better to play solo. Cause it will be up to you which room you choose. In co-op everyone decides, which im not a fan of
Solo is way easier for the nemesis than in coop, we are regularly doing raid/legendary content, countdown heroic etc, and oh by the nemesis are way too powerful in group of 3-4 it instantly kill
Solo is okay
Got to the arena twice with no ammo. The second time it did not give me any thing good so I only had a pistol.
Most of my clan did not play the PTS, so I showed them around yesterday. We seldom played beyond loop 4 before most of them wanted to leave.
I just jumped back into Div 2 and this mode is my new favorite! What an addictive game play loop. I'm definitely going to play this till my permanents are maxed! : ) awesome video man! I'm late but I'm here now lol
🙏 Thank you so much! And welcome back! Descent absolutely offers a very unique experience compared to the rest of the game- glad you're enjoying it!
A few tips;
- Avoid the sticky bomb, at least for now. It seems to be bugger and nearly got me killed several times. What can happen is you go to fire it and the it will not actually let you detonate it or take cover. Swapping weapons will alleviate this but you still can't trigger the bomb. It's not 100% but why take the risk.
2 - Save up for the 4th talent unlock first, trust me this absolutely should be the first priority because I have run into cases where after 3 talent rerolls I got nothing helpful
3 - Speaking of which, never do more than 2 rerolls. Each successive reroll costs more, in fact I would suggest just using the skip option if nothing goog comes up after a single reroll those credits are valuable.
4 - The Bullet King Exotic talent is by far the best. It's ludicrously broken especially on shotguns. Also Sandman is largely junk, but it will actually one-shot enemies with shields if you melee their shield (very helpful when being rushed)
5 - Last one is again about shotguns - they are the best thing to buy special ammo for especially Hollow Point Bullets. I bought some for my 870 on one run and the game have like 120 rounds - which is just crazy on a shotgun.
Wait so bullet king Exotic perk ‘buffs’ the special ammo’s you buy becaus presumably, ALL of your ammo is in the mag?
If so that’s nutty…
@@hamishblair7504 Oh I hadn't even considered that, maybe that's why I had so many HP Rounds. I just remember seeing 120+ with the 870 and thinking "I am become Death, destroyer of worlds"
I doesn't work will all special ammo types, it works with High velocity, I forgot which one I doesn't work with. Instead it only gave me 90rounds of the Special ammo
Bro sandman was the best talent going in there. I loved it. Saved ammo and just smacked npc's every ten seconds.
I like the chatter box talent better than bullet hell. It gives you wild rate of fire and dps, and also refills half your mag every kill so you get a bullet king like effect
What usually kills me is that darn bomb drone that the cleaners have. Not the rogue one 😂
No one likes this game mode cs you actually have to b GOOD and can’t rely on your shd levels 😂😂😂
@@AonGreyFox I understand your point and your complaints are legit. I suppose you play on pc? Cause on Xbox there isn't almost any crashes.
@@ROPUTO Yup, it's really bad on PC. I'm glad they you can enjoy this mode without worry about Delta in Xbox.

Yea I am also enjoying the game mode. It’s a really good challenge in our group of 4. Something I will do with mates once a week at least !!
The co-op experience is definitely a lot of fun 🙌
I somehow knew nothing about the NSA currency lol.
Iv become a huge fan of mad bomber in the mode!
Mad bomber is a sleeper pick for sure, basically a free sticky bomb that makes rooms go 10x faster.
I opened a simulation cache and got system corruption gloves, please can someone check if this was not a bug??
Morten teased that they could contain DZ items
I'm curious how you balance offensive and defensive choices to get started and yes, I ran out of ammo and med kits at 89% heat 😂
I typically build damage first, as the NPC's will continue to deal high damage even when you build more survivability
The only tip you need - DON’T WASTE YOU’RE TIME PLAYING IT.
This Mode needs too much time to come in Higher Levels
I just wish descent was not another gamemode where skill builds were so punished. If you bring any sort of good skill build, the nenemis will destroy you. If its a skill with burn damage... then insta kill.
RUclipsrs who play the pts ruined this game with all that whining about it being too easy now it is crazy hard
Best Tip: just dont play this mode....its boring as fuck....
Dog water game mode.
Gg
Thank you 🙏 it's players like you that keep me going with this game 😊
the M870 Express is not bad in the first 5 Loops at 3.8k damage white , 4.3k damage green , 4.8k damage blue per shot
The problem is unless you can 100 percent kill the nemesis every time it’s pointless to play descent. But the nemesis kills you in four bullets, while you can run out of ammo without missing and dude still has half his armor
I'm get wrecked on the nemesis level 20 sec tops
Literally
you also get named crates.
@TECHNO-GAMER-Kun uh... you can play countdown, gets tons of dropped items, can buy whatever crate you want, get multiple named items dropped at your feet... all in 15 minutes.
This is hours of work... for nothing dropped. A couple crates.
@@DefenestrateLogic I have yet to play countdown so I wouldn’t know.
Well this update was a big disaster/disappointment, and the mode is fun for about 3 runs , the rewards are horrific, time invested is a joke and until there is some loot only obtainable in this mode i wont play it , no reason to cause its not fun, and love how you can load right into another game when you die
@herrvorragend3542 your the one getting mad over someone opinion ! Need I say more !! I will take sad enjoy being pathetic
Also forgot to mention that since you're always running to the next room, you always start a battle with a full damage boost already charged up 👌🏾👌🏾
Another one is preservation. It'll give almost 50% armor regen at level 6
Yep, that's been my go-to, it's very fun!
@@herrvorragend3542 entrench?
I had chameleon and lady death at one point , it's nuts
@@PourriGamer I want to try this combo, sounds thrilling 😂
It’s really hard and unfair. They should at least let you start from where you died. After 1:30hr have to start from the beginning again and again sucks and make it annoying because we sometimes play with random people
That's the point it's a roguelite
As a new player I am really enjoying this mode but I can understand how veterans could be disappointed by it. As a new player it’s great because you get to encounter a lot of mechanics that you wouldn’t see early on in the Story.
Glad you're liking it!
thats because you're meant to play this after the story ..
The NSA upgrades also applies to your other characters. Handy if you want to complete your projects on another character
That's good to know cus I had no idea
Oh nice! Had no idea
Agree on using weapons / skills that suit this mode
I finished it for first time and one skill that helped me a lot (a lot !) Was the shrapnel trap.
Does incessant chatter refill your mag with special ammo?
a lot of people are also missing the fact that you can choose between weapon or skill after you complete a floor, you dont always have to just choose a weapon
How do you get the reconstructed caches. They’re supposedly the ones with the named blueprints and haven’t seen a single one
I believe they just renamed it to the Simulation Cache

That's what I said when they announced them , and people got all mad , and. I said this update is really bad as well , it's a complete waste of time . Only thing good was the mp5 and shock ar . Even the man hunt not man hunt is horrible
@@reapersasmr5483 I mean I love the mode but was hoping to level my season up. It's clearly not worth the time invested to do that.
@Imon Yourside no it's not , it's for times you have nothing better to do , like if your not grinding lvls , or gear , or season lvls , then it's fine just for messing around .
If only I could save the progress and hop back on later😢 I don’t have few hours to play games
@@TheRama2299 isn't the nemesis immune to shock?
The math I ran on the weapons pointed to a few stand outs.
ran the math on all grey starting weapons so it won’t take into account DMG to Armor/HP/TooC etc.
MP7, M60, P416 & SASG-12 have crazy stats when looking @ total DMG per mag & burst
The MP7 has been balanced around not having a mag upgrade in open world & I &) the SMGs & the MP7 has the second highest burst under the V 9mm SBR and the second highest sustain/DMG per mag under the PP-19
M60 has a ridiculous ammount of sustain & decent burst, while MP7 has the inverse.
PP19 has a huuuuge mag size and relatively high bullet damage (ammo conservation) so it is crazy good on earlier floors.
I took the Armor on Kill first in the permanent bonuses. Definitely helped me out.
But I definitely like it, I almost forgot that I should take cover from time to time, save ammo, and things like that..... ;)
Glad you're liking it!
The leaderboard chase is fun IMO
I played 8 rooms before I died. Loop 2. I enjoyed it so I will continue playing it Thanks!!!
Rewards are SHIT. Played 1hour 15min for a single simulation cache... no thanks
What loop did you get to? I had a 45 minute Nemesis run and got 7 SHD Levels, and 7 caches including an Exotic cache. I think rewards depend more on how far you get rather than time investment
@@RogueGold are you sure that wasn't from season pass?
@@RogueGold Loop 6. And it aint even worth it for the xp, as farming freeroam is much faster
Got to loop 5 and received 2 shd levels and 1 cache, it was totally lame.
It's a joke , it's by far the worst mode to get anything, and there is nothing to get that you can't get elsewhere and have more fun doing it .
Too difficult for the little rewards you get from it tbh, it isn’t worth it right now at least for me.
@@DeathsEmployer2004 TBH idk how devs sat there and think to themselves yea this will win over the people it’s like the are not tru gamers at heart
You do earn XP and loot for your main character. I got 22 SHD levels and multiple caches off of a 2 hour run
@@RogueGold 🤔👍🏽
I think this mode is a test I believe this is how Division Heartland Mechanics work
Don't forget that later on rogue agents spawn in.
This is the Survival we needed! I like it a lot
what?
That's a shame, what happened exactly?
When we reached the room and hit the button to enter, I got the cutscene of the room assembling and everything. Then it was just myself and Sgt in the room, but Mallory couldn't enter. We waited for a while to see if it was just lag, but she never got the cutscene. Mallory left group and got the cutscene, but then couldn't rejoin us, leaving us all stuck in the room with a "waiting for other players" prompt up top. There was nothing happening and nothing to interact with, so after about 10 mins, we all just quit out.

@RogueGold Any tips for the Nemsis fight going in with a four man team keep getting destroyed. Heard there might be a balancing issue
I've only done it on solo so far. Stock up on the Special Ammo from the vendor right before, focus fire one of them at a time.
Descent is most fun right now but loww rewards, req. too much time , best advice: dont play it now and hope for boost from devs.
The more I play this mode,I kept getting loot non stop
Quite enjoy this mode but when you die why the hell do i have to travel back to washington to then travel back to descent to have another go its just pointless
only struggle - nemesis kills me with 3 shots across the room. Difficulty is ridiculous.
Wow I'm so used to extended ammo clip on all my guns, thats probably the biggest adjustment for me.
You get used to it after a bit, but it's definitely a switch!
Sticky bomb is great for spawn trapping doors
Nemesis is your mirror... so, it doesn't matter how prepared you are :)
They'll always have more armor/damage, so building up more armor/damage yourself is better preparation!
Bullet hell on a shotgun is amazeballs due to no reload
same for LD exotic talent.
100%!
Thank you Thank you. I've been waiting for someone to do a tips & tricks video on this. Its fun with the crazy builds you can make but the mode takes way too long. They need to find a way to shorten it
@herrvorragend3542 Yeah obviously. But how many people are going to keep playing a mode that takes about 2 hours to get through
Interesting that they made new stuff, I’m curious about it
I would love to know what are other players doing when getting a multi wave room with black tusk and there are two or three dogs?
4 dogs, 2 tanks, drones. 2 waves of enemies. great (no)
Having useful skills is a big help, like a Demo Firely, Jammer Pulse, etc. Having good damage talent built up to beam the dogs w/ an LMG or other gun was my main strategy.
Toss your grenades at the door after it hits 1 and blow up the ads as they come out.
Oh shit! I just saw the nsa stat upgrades. This changes everything.
And for gun/damage setups, Steady Handed is a top pick for me in Descent
you get quite a decent amount of xp tbh, but i've recently returned so im not sure what is the standard
You do, it's honestly one of the better sources right now with the open world XP changes they made this update
I cant beat the damn nemisi they wreck my whole team in seconds cant use any mechanical skills cause they turn them on u🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

Yes please give me all room at once
Fight the Nemesis is just kinda like fight with a Hunter 😂
I like it, defeat nemesis and keep playing & it gets insane 🤣🤣🤣

It's a bug, will be removed in a coming patch
@@RogueGold danm woulda been nice to get something i could use even if just for mats
How do you equipped items you buy.
Like armour on kill etc
Once you purchase those upgrades they automatically apply to your Descent runs, you don't need to do anything else 👍
They're going to reset the permanent NSA stuff every season... bet... Diablo player speaking here
Tip 1: Max out the "armor on kill" or "health on kill" when your finished with your decent run.
Cool vid, descent is different not everyone could adapt, no contractors no fox’s 😂 nothing to lean on just pure thought provoking skill.
My favorite run so far was level 3 unhinged level 5 lucky shot with bullet hell on a police M4 and level 2 preservation and I hate fire
